Imagine...the perfect little cottage near Lake Michigan. Welcome to Higman Park-our unique and historic oasis, nestled along the shores of Lake Michigan.
The cottage offers the perfect location from which to explore all that southwest Michigan has to offer. World class golf, fishing, kayaking, berry picking, antiquing, wine country touring is all at your doorstep… And so much more.
The home features three bedrooms. The master with a king size bed and a second bedroom with a full size bed are on the first floor along with a full-size bath. Upstairs a queen size bed, a twin size bed and a half bath. A bright airy family room provides comfortable seating on two sofas and an oversize comfy chair. A 50 inch LCD screen television with a Roku system for watching movies on those stay at home and evenings. You will find our kitchen well-equipped for your stay from pots and pans to dinnerware, Flatware and glassware. Dinner can be enjoyed at the dining table set for six. However, with the incredible variety of local restaurants, Temptations abound. We feature 600 thread count linens, fluffy bath and beach towels. Special requests? Activity suggestions? Dining suggestions? Let us know, we love to spoil our guest.

Perfect cottage with private beach close by

Recently stayed here for a family vacation - what a perfect cottage! Everything was exactly how it looks in the photos, lots of space for multiple people to stay. It has private beach access a short walk away. Everything in Benton Harbor and St. Joseph is a 5-10 minute drive away. Would absolutely recommend/stay here again!

cute little cottage

Was way cuter in person! updated bathroom and kitchen, cute little yard where our kids played and quiet neighborhood (met some nice neighbors who invited the kids to play on their outdoor playset). the top floor carpet could use replacing but we would stay there again. Beach access was tough but we were there to visit some friends with a lake house so that wasn't a dealbreaker for us

Beach cottage

Lots of room to spend special times with great friends. Safe neighborhood! Great shower and awesome "homey" feel! Fire pit had lots of dirt piled inside, the garden in the back is a little wild & the frig had water in the drawers.

Michigan beach recharge

Everything was perfect. Property was as represented, beach better than expected. The only slight concern was that we only had an internet connection to the owner/property managers. Our concern was if there was an immediate need to communicate, a phone number would've been necessary.

Nice location and comfy gathering room

Location was great with access to beach and park areas and hiking and golf nearby. House was nice to be able to talk and enjoy our evenings together. The outside yard and garderns were not as well kept as the rest of the neighborhood.

Private beach access a short walk away (down stairs also)

Had a great time with friends at this rental. The interior was almost excellent however the exterior really needs some cleaning up including weeding. There was a nice private backyard but it was so weedy we didnt want to stay out there. Also the front yard was close to the roughest looking in the small private neighborhood due to overgrown gardens. Besides the exterior, the stay and accommodations were very good. Having private beach access makes this rental worth it as the public beach just down the way gets super busy. However I was originally under the impression from the listing that this house was right on lake michigan. Especially because the price seemed quite pricey compared to the many other rentals I have been to via vrbo.

Great beach cottage with all the amenities!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! Enough room for a family getaway! Comfy beds, kitchen with everything you need to cook or prepare meals! Im sure the backyard is a hit in the summertime, but it still looked nice! Close proximity to everything Southwest Michigan! We would definitely recommend this listing!

Great location and inside space

The location close to Klock beach and St. Joseph’s is excellent. Inside is clean and very spacious with nice dining area for meals and games. As other guests have commented, a bit more attention could be paid to upkeep and cleanliness of outdoor areas but we still enjoyed the fire pit and overall stay.

Family vacation

We loved our stay at this cute cottage! We enjoyed a family vacation while visiting my daughter and celebrating my grandchildren's birthdays! It was such a quiet friendly neighborhood and the private beach was amazing! Many memories were made with family! We had a small mechanical incident while we were there but the quick response from our host to fix it was outstanding! I would definitely recommend this cottage for a perfect vacation spot to St Joseph and all the area has to offer!

Charming inside, a little wild outside

The location is very nice, next to very nice homes in a fabulous neighborhood. The inside is very nice, beds are comfortable and plenty of room inside and very charming. The outside landscaping is overgrown. We would have liked to spend some time in the back yard where they have a nice wild garden and patio but there were weeds everywhere the cushions of the furniture were all dirty. The property needs 1 full day of picking weeds and pruning the vegetation. The owner was fantastic with the communication, I got back answer back right away.

Excellent location, comfortable home.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. It would be nice to have screens on some windows that function so that we could have enjoyed the fresh air. For retired people like us on an extended stay we would like to have more TV station selections. Master bedroom king size bed was very comfortable. Short walk to private beach and community park in this quiet neighborhood was a big plus.

Great location/Owner Communicated Timely But Lots of Issues Add Up

We really enjoyed the location of this house; worth considering if you want easy access to the beach and/or are in town for Ironman Steelhead. Neighbors were super friendly. The owner responded to our questions before and during the stay in a timely manner, but there were lots of small issues/problems with the house that really added up and detracted from our ability to enjoy our stay. Below is a list we provided to the owner, hopefully they are fixed but worth considering if they are things that may bother you: 1. The house was listed as a 2-bath but only has 1.5 baths. With 4 adults and 2 children, this we were expecting to have access to 2 showers and felt mislead by the listing. 2. The house was not very clean when we checked in. The floors were particularly dirty and sandy. While there are a few vacuums, they seem to just spread sand around on the hardwoods so we have been using a broom each day. The brooms in the house were also pretty old and not super effective so it may be that the housecleaner is just not using things that are effective in picking up the fine sand on hardwood floors. 3. The kitchen sink and the utility sink in the basement are not draining properly. If we washed more than a few dishes the water backs up into the sink. Without a dishwasher, this made washing dishes quite time consuming. 4. Several door knobs, a blind in the kitchen, numerous light fixtures (upstairs 1/2 bath) were broken. 5. The washing machine was broken. We were not aware that it was not functioning before we even arrived, but had we known, I am not sure we would have stayed. 6. The house does not have any flashlights or matches and according to the neighbors, power outages are frequent. We lost power on our first night at the house for 2 hours. 7. Cookware was pretty old there were no dish rags to clean with so we used a lot of paper towels. 8. There was no place on 2nd floor to hang clothes and no towel rack in 1/2 bath. Only two towel racks in main bathroom- one above toilet for short towels and one in shower. No washcloths provided.

Cozy cute and close to everything!

This was our first home rental in St. Joe area and we were very pleased with this rental! As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a cute beachy feel. The front living room was a great size which connected right to the dining space and kitchen which was also the perfect size. The rooms were all very nice and each lamp was more than just a lamp but a fun decoration! Loved all the furniture and details to the decor as well as nice art hanging. The bathroom was a good size but the best part was plenty of towels and enough hot water for everyone to shower after the beach ! Also loved the safe beautiful neighborhood and short walk to a pretty private beach . We would absolutely stay here again my only suggestion would be trim up the landscaping a little in front and back and maybe eventually a driveway would be nice too! Thank you!
