La Bagatelle Villa is a uniquely spacious villa situated on a hillside overlooking the Pitons with spectacular panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea.

The villa features almost 5000 sq ft of living and dining space with unobstructed views of the afternoon sunsets, Pitons and Carribean and can accomodate up to six guests. There is also a four poster queen daybed in the Cabana area and a hammock for those wanting to enjoy the cool breezes, a relaxing book or an afternoon nap. The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped to prepare any meals you desire (Cooking is included in the rate). On the far end, is a refreshing pool that offers a sun deck for sunbathing and a BBQ grill for cooking some local fresh fish or lobster. In addition, high peaked ceilings and a smooth polished greenheart floors make this villa a luxury of space and style.

Downstairs are two tastefully furnished bedroom suites and Italian tiled bathrooms with large closets. The master bedroom has a king size West Indian four poster bed, an armoire and antique side tables. Also, featured is a large ensuite bathroom with a shower and plenty of closet space. Of course, both bedrooms offer stunning Caribbean views.

The guest bedroom features king and queen four poster beds and a chest of drawers. The ensuite bathroom includes a double sink tiled vanity, shower and a large closet. Mosquito nets are on all beds and a safe is available for your valuables.
The amenities include the 18’X10’ private pool surrounded by tropical plants and a sun deck with pool chairs and lie flat sun loungers.

A tennis court is available for your use and tennis racquets and balls are provided.
Cooking (you provide the food) and housekeeping services are included in the rate.
There is a detailed guestbook for planning your stay and the staff (Verlinda and Alvin) can help you arrange your activities and transportation. They can also help in scheduling for your Covid departure tests.

The best place on the island

I booked this place for our honeymoon based on the past reviews and photographs, and it even exceeded expectations. The views are genuinely incredible and almost take your breath away. Waking up to that view every morning with a coffee is worth the trip up Anse Chastenet road to get there. The villa is the best equipped rental I have ever come across. Alvin is great for just chatting to, booking and helping to arrange things, learning about the area, and has created an incredible garden over the past 6 years. Verlinda is a lovely cleaner that comes in most days and makes sure the house is spick and span for you. The bedrooms and en-suites are very spacious, the pool is lovely, and the location is perfect for a tourist. We used a great taxi driver called Germal who took us everywhere with no fuss and fair prices; much less hassle than hiring a car so would highly recommend him. The property manager can sort that for you. An added bonus was the hummingbirds that visit daily for the nectar - they are beautiful. Safe to say, all the reviews are correct and this place is insanely good.

St. Lucia vacation

The La Bagatelle villa is breathtaking and immaculately clean. It has everything you need to feel right at home. The pool is a huge plus as it was very hot and humid during our stay. If there is any way to air condition the bedrooms, that would be a big plus. Verlinda and Alvin are very friendly and a wealth of information. They kept the villa super clean. We dined at Camille Blanc hotel several times. It’s a 10 minute walk from the villa.

La Bagatelle, a wonderful villa

This was our 3rd time staying in Le Bagatelle, and our first sine Covid. It is absolutely the perfect villa for 2 couples. So much space and the most amazing views. The plunge pool was clean and warm and very much an enjoyable asset. The staff is very attentive and friendly. We would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful St. Lucia Retreat

We visited St. Lucia as a group of 4 (2 couples) and after considering Anse Chastanet for lodging and scuba diving, we decided to rent La Bagatelle based on the close proximity to all of the hiking and diving we planned to do, but with a more quiet setting and beautiful views. The house was extremely comfortable and peaceful and both of the bedrooms were equally comfortable. The views are probably one of the best in the whole region and for the most part, the temperature was comfortable, especially under the fans. I am a mosquito magnet, but they were manageable with bug spray and citronella candles and the mosquito nets on the beds kept them at bay all night. We loved all of the birds and Alvin regularly brought treats from the gardens! We are all avid hikers, but the first afternoon after lunch and swimming at Anse Mamin we decided that multiple trips up the hill was not something we were looking forward to, so we ultimately rented a car. This may not be the best option for everyone, especially if you are not comfortable driving on narrow, unimproved roads, but we survived unscathed! We mostly ate out at some of the delicious local restaurants and cooked our own breakfast and lunch in the well stocked kitchen. Definitely ask the locals for recommendations! If you are contemplating using the laundry service, it cost us $40 for the amount of laundry that would fit in a carryon bag, so if you are on the fence, you might want to pack an extra bag.

Perfect Honeymoon!

My husband and I stayed for a one week honeymoon and we were blown away. The property is GORGEOUS, tranquil, and everything you could need for a romantic and peaceful getaway. All of the staff were very accommodating - we heavily utilized the private transportation, cooking, massage reservations, and other amenities with ease. We hiked the Gros Pitons, snorkeled at Anse Chastenet beach (with gear provided by the villa), enjoyed massages in the villa, and had multiple great dinners. I would recommend this stay to anyone! My favorite part of our stay was having breakfast every morning overlooking the Pitons. Thank you all for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful View

A fantastic view property with an open living area which adds to the experience. I was initially worried about bugs but was pleasantly surprised how few there were. It was about a 20 minute walk to the beach with a steep return but we enjoyed the exercise. We took a taxi everywhere and didn’t use a rental car. Highly recommended.

Lovely Get Away

All in all a very beautiful property with amazing and relaxing views. Nicely appointed home. Just wish we had a bit more intel upfront on the property so we could have packed and planned a bit better for our trip. Things we would have liked to know. (1) The property is 100 % open air with no air conditioning - would have packed better clothing options. (2) If you rent a car, get a 4 wheel drive - the property will be hard to access with front or rear wheel drive. Best option is to have a taxi driver which was great. (3) During the week day, the property has a grounds keeper and house keeper onsite. Great people, but work noises woke us up.

Amazing View

We decided to go with this property based on the pictures but honestly it is way better in person. There is a lot to do on the island but you could stay on the property and enjoy the pool and view. Benton and his wife were our drivers and they were friendly and on time, every time. The restaurants and beaches were about a 20 minute walk down the hill. You could walk back up but we chose to get a ride. Not many places where we went took debit cards so bring plenty of cash, the atms didn’t work most of the time and had low limits when they did work. My wife and I loved the place and would definitely recommend to anyone

Absolutely amazing

This property was truly idyllic. The view is 5star and pictures do not do it justice. We woke up to the soundtrack of nature and greatly appreciated moments with a backdrop of rainbows. The villa was spacious, very clean and organized with many places to sit and lay down while enjoying the beautiful, ethereal view. Verlinda and Alvin were an absolute delight to be around. Verlinda’s meals were delicious and both were personable and accommodating. We were sad to leave the island.

Magical!

There are not enough words to describe just how amazing this villa is! The pictures do not do this place justice. Open, inviting, and the décor is impeccable! The open air living room was an absolute treat...my husband and I actually slept upstairs several nights. I could go on about the villa, but I must also share our experience with the staff and the owner. The owner made sure that we had access to transportation and the staff was warm, welcoming, and engaging. But the real shining star of the service came on Friday July 2 when we were hit by Hurricane Elsa. The owner remained in touch with us via text during the storm, and the groundskeeper came back to the villa and remained onsite with us during the storm. We were blown away by the genuine concern and thought of our safety during this time. This was by far our vacation. Beautiful location, beautiful villa, and wonderful staff and owners. We can't wait to come back!

We have just returned from our short stay at La Bagatelle. We were looking for a restful home with views of the Pitons to celebrate a birthday and were not disappointed. The home is beautifully appointed and impeccably maintained by Verlinda and Alvin. As other's have noted, La Bagatelle sits up on the hill side above Anse Chastenet. It is a 15-20 minute walk down the hill to the beach (and a quick car-ride back up....we utilized Benton for our transportation needs and found him friendly and punctual) If you are looking to be in the center of 'the action' look elsewhere.....but if you want extraordinary views, peace, quiet in a sublime villa that is close to all that Soufriere has to offer this is your place. You will not be disappointed!

Our Vacation Villa in Paradise!! Book it and Go!! You will love it!!!

Our family stayed at La Bagatelle, in Soufriere St. Lucia. La Bagatelle is a private, serene gorgeous Villa that gave way to a wide open floor plan both upstairs as well as downstairs. The view of the Pitons, ocean, gardens and surrounding land is absolutely spectacular. Aesthetically, La Bagatelle is a breathtaking, clean, impeccably kept Villa with strategically placed plantings that is surrounded by stunning wrought iron fencing and clean open air. While we experienced a cool cross breeze throughout the Villa, ceiling and oscillating fans are also available for added comfort. We had absolutely no issues with bug control throughout the day or at night. While sleeping at night there were beautiful nets that surround the antique canopy beds that we could easily unfolded if at all needed. Each of us discovered that the daybed on the upper level was wonderful for lounging for a daily afternoon nap as was lounging and relaxing on the deck, in the hammock or by the pool. La Bagatelle’s free WiFi is strong. The new TV allowed us the opportunity to watch satellite broadcasts as well as play a variety of old CD movies in the cabinet. There is basic as well as island reading material and old fashioned table/card games available. For our outdoor entertainment, La Bagatelle supplied us snorkeling equipment, beach towels and backpack chairs. If needed, La Bagatelle also has basic toiletries and first aide supplies. As a team, La Bagatelle staff is above and beyond reproach. We found them all to be a delightful, articulate, attentive, responsive, hardworking, staff with wonderful etiquette whom respected our privacy while tending to our requests/needs and the chores around the Villa. Weather was a perfect “ten” each day. While we adored lounging at La Bagatelle, we did venture out to see the island. We mudded ourselves up in the therapeutic Suplhr Springs, ziplined and hiked to the waterfalls in the Rainforest as well as hiked through the Botanical Gardens, we frolicked/lounged/snorkeled (beautiful colorful fish- scuba and fishing optional but we ran out of time)/swam/practiced yoga/mountain biked at the beautiful beaches and explored the town of Soufriere. In downtown Soufriere, there is a beautifully renovated market. We drank delicious smoothies at Zaka’s and sat at a small new courtyard. Overall, we found the La Bagatelle magical and the people of St. Lucia to be polite and respectful. Thank you Team La Bagatelle without a doubt, we will be back!!!

La Bagatelle

The view is beautiful from the house. The openness of the living area makes you feel a part of nature in the tropical surroundings. However, the openness (lack of walls and windows) makes the heat, bugs, and noise from nearby dwellings less than comfortable. It gets dark early and turning on a light after dark results in swarms of bugs and moths. A few amenities listed (e.g. cable TV and tennis) were not available during our stay.

Unwind and take in the view

We (2 couples) stayed here during the 1st week of April. The view cannot be beat! The accommodations were wonderful. Lounging by the pool and napping in the hammock or daybed never lost its novelty. Verlinda, Alvin, and Benton were pleasant and helpful. Be sure to take advantage of Verlinda’s cooking; it is scrumptious. Sam also was helpful with booking and answering questions about the villa. We thought having no air conditioning would be a problem but we never missed it. Suggestions: stop in Vieux Fort for groceries when you arrive; the selection is much better than Eroline’s in Soufriere. Verlinda also can grocery shop for you while at the villa. We had dinner at Fond Doux, Dasheene, and Hummingbird—all very good. Also had lunch at Jade Mountain which was ok but nothing over the top (other than the view). Tour the Sulphur Springs and snorkel at Sugar Beach. Visit Mamin Beach (it is a 20-25 minute walk down from the villa; ask Benton to pick you up unless you want to hike back up). Enjoyed a fabulous lunch here. The road up to the villa is steep and curvy; by car it takes 10-15 minutes to go up. Walking up is another matter! The beaches are public but resorts keep the public to one side. We found Mamin Beach was much nicer than the beach at Anse Chastanet. We cannot wait to return!

Villa la Bagatelle: Indescribable Anse Chastenet-area beauty and luxury

This wasn't our first trip to St. Lucia and we wanted to stay in the south this time because of the sights there. The villa is above Anse Chastanet Road, about 1 hour drive from the airport, in the hills above the ocean. It's about 1.5 km (25-min. walk or minutes by car) to Soufriere one way or to Anse Chastanet Beach / Jade Mountain resort the other. We walked to the beach, but road is a little rough and some climbing. In the am it is easy to rent a palapa and chairs for USD$36. For privacy, little further north is Anse Mamin beach, which is among the most beautiful we’ve ever seen anywhere, and deserted. The Villa left us breathless. Stunning view of the Pitons. Rainbows. Sunsets, hummingbirds, passing tall ships. The house is basically open on three sides to the green, flowered, and lush outdoors. The living area is huge and open, with daybed, hammock, living and dining area. The bedrooms below are enclosed and comfortable. The pool is inviting and the pool deck is a great place to watch stars and enjoy evening sounds. The kitchen is well-appointed. We've traveled a lot and had no issues drinking the water. The house has locking gate, safe, and other lockable grilles in the house. We wondered about living things inside, but there were near zero insects and no animals. We did not use repellent at all. I was worried about sleeping without AC, but nights are temperate 24° and the rooms have fans. No trouble at all. The villa is also well-equipped with beach and snorkeling gear, AV gear, wifi, BBQ, and tennis court. St. Lucia is 240v, with UK-style 3-prong plugs. There are several Canada/US style plugs and 120v power bar for your electronics. The service: Verlinda: gracious, helpful, professional, she is in daily to freshen the house, do laundry. She will cook your groceries or will shop for you and cook delicious dinners from her recipe book. She ensured that our initial grocery order and drinks were there on our arrival and dinner was on the table. Alvyn: groundskeeper, was also helpful. Sam: the property manager in FL was available by phone before and during (and made awesome restaurant recommendations). Local drivers—Benton was great—can be called for transfers, groceries, or nights out. We have high expectations when we travel, and Villa la Bagatelle and its staff exceeded them. Our only regret: we only spent one restful, enjoyable week in this magical place.

Thoroughly enjoyed La Bagatelle

This is a truly amazing place. We wanted to relax and unwind, and La Bagatelle is exactly the place to do that. The setting looks like paradise! And the staff were very friendly and attentive. Charmaine checked in everyday and made sure we had what we needed, Verlinda made our place tidy and prepared wonderful meals for us, while Alvin worked all the time to keep the landscape around the house beautiful. While we were there, Sam, the manager, happened to be in St. Lucia. He checked on us a couple of times too to make sure we were comfortable. We thought about renting a car before we went, but it turned out unnecessary: anytime we needed a ride, we just let Charmaine know and she would arrange the taxi very quickly. The road leading to the villa is steep, but once you get there, looking at the Pitons and the Caribbean Sea, you'll know it’s totally worth the climb! Thank you for everything! We definitely want to come back again!

Stunning villa with an even better view!!

I think I first learned about this villa from a scuba forum board. Boy, am I ever glad I found it. I was searching for a great place for two couples to enjoy St. Lucia. This is the PERFECT place for us. Let's start with the location. It's fairly close to the airport - about an hour drive. The town of Soufrière is a sleepy little town without too much traffic, but convenient to a lot of things. The other bonus for the location is that it is near some spectacular scuba diving. "Superman's Flight" has to be in the top three dives I have ever done. There's a ton of life with a lot of gorgeous corals and barrel sponges. There are many other things to do in this area. Charmaine or Sam can give you information or set up transportation for you to the various activities in the area. The villa is wonderful. It is open on three sides, with the back side going into the hill. All the air conditioning you need is provided by ceiling fans and some fans in the bedrooms. If you get a little warm, you can always jump in your private and secluded pool. It somehow stays nice and cool in the tropic weather. The bedrooms are downstairs. There is a master suite, but it's not much different than the other bedroom. Traveling as two couples, the other couple was very comfortable in the second bedroom. The kitchen is more than adequate as we had several meals at the villa. There are also several amenities worth mentioning. They have several sets of snorkel gear for guest use. Don't feel like you need to bring your own. There are lots of sunblock and sprays already at the villa. The wifi is good, but don't expect blazing uploads of all your amazing photos to facebook (you will want to make sure your friends are envious of where you are staying). The bluetooth speaker was key for enjoying streaming music from Amazon. They are even good enough to provide some toiletries in case someone forgot something. A shout out needs to go out to Verlinda and Alvin for making sure the place was immaculate and running smooth. Verlinda also prepared a wonderful dinner for us after an arduous hike up Gros Piton (don't do it unless you LOVE hiking!). Some notes you should know: OK..., there are ants. But they were only limited to certain areas. They don't bite and this is the tropics. The beds are very, very firm. Make sure to take their offer for a taxi from the airport. It is worth it, and you can rent a car when you get to the villa. Remember - ENJOY!! We will be back!!!
