About this property

Beautiful fully furnished 3 bedroom 2 bath home for rent on Lake Gaston. Open floor plan on the main level includes living room, dining room and fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances to include dishwasher, gas stove, microwave and a refrigerator with ice-maker. Kitchen is fully equipped with thoughtful additions for the family chef such as baking dishes, pizza pan, cutting boards, mixer, blender, hand mixer and a bread-maker! Sleeping arrangements upstairs consist of two bedrooms, both with queen size beds that share a hall bath with Jacuzzi tub on the first floor. French doors open to the spacious deck with gas grill, outdoor Adirondack chair seating to enjoy the view of the lake and a table and chairs for outdoor dining. during evening sunsets. The spacious lower level has a large open living room/recreation room with a large bathroom with tub and third queen bedroom. The downstairs recreation room features a full size air hockey table, and foosball, table bar area and movie pit with 60 inch TV. Amenities for the little ones include, booster seat, baby gate, books and toys for smaller children. Teens and adults will enjoy the selection of video games, movies and books for evening or rainy day activity. French doors open to a patio area outside the lower level rec room with comfortable Adirondack chairs for enjoying the lake view from the patio.

A wooden walkway accompanies you from the lower level all the way to the covered boathouse with lift, power and light. Use of the private boathouse and boat ramp is included in rental with the private boat ramp for the community included with your rental literally across from the home. Because this house sits in the rear of the cove, boat noise is very minimal. There is good fishing right off of the dock and also a ladder for swimming. While the water right off the end of the dock is about 5 feet...perfect for kids, it does drop off about 10 yards out to about 9-11 feet depending on conditions, to provide plenty of depth for boats of all sizes.

No smoking or pets allowed. Also, there is NO INTERNET at Lyric's Lair which is perfect for those who need to unwind and take a break from email and Facebook! Verizon cell service works best, but cell reception can be spotty at our rural oasis.

Lyric's Lair is close to wineries, breweries, antique shops and businesses abound for boat, jetski, and paddleboard rental.

Great lake house

Really enjoyed the availability of the creek which flows into Lake Gaston. Boat dock was an A+. Neighborhood was quite and well kept. Would like to stay again next year. For everyone who has not been to Lake Gaston,and likes to fish and swim this is a great place to rent. Having a boat is a plus and should be a must have. Rental was as advertised.

Great few days away!

It was a relaxing get away for the family before school starting. I can tell you being an avid salt water fisherman learning how to fresh water fish is a whole new experience lol. Docking my offshore boat in your boathouse was an experience to say the least. It was so nice to dock your boat and walk right into the house. We will be back again.

Super Clean and Fun

This property was so clean when we arrived. Honestly, the game room was a huge hit for us! The beds were super comfortable, always a plus too. The Owner was very helpful and friendly. I definitely recommend this property for anyone with a small group or looking for a quiet place.

Clean and very stocked house

This house has everything and more! Very clean with all the extras you can think of. We brought our boat (a 22 ft chap) and we had plenty of room (depth) at the dock. Easy in and out of the cove to the main lake. The neighbors were extremely friendly and the property was well kept. The game room was lots of fun, we didn't have any little ones with us so we didn't look into the extras for littles. Beds, bedding and towels were all nice and clean. The house kept a good temperature even with it being 95 most days we were there! We plan to rent again!

Great lil getaway

The house was very clean and fully stocked. Air hockey was a huge hit with the kids. Great dock and deep water. Overall one of the best rentals Ive ever stayed in. Owner was great to work with.

Fourth Year and Always a Great Stay

Excellent property for a family stay. On a quiet cove where the kids love to swim and fish. Pea Hill Creek is ideal for tubing and any other water sports. Excellent condition. Plenty of space to gather on the decks. Very convenient community boat ramp is easy to use.

Just as advertised & even better!

This rental was just as advertised, and even better! We had our family of 4, which includes a 14 y.o. & an 8 y.o. There were tons of movies, games, gaming system, a foosball table & an air hockey table. The cleanliness was too notch and THE perfect rental! We'll definitely be renting here again....wish we could've stayed longer. :)

Absolutely the BEST

We LOVE Lyrics Lair and have stayed twice here already. The boat ramp is right beside the property. It has all the amenities you could ask for. The best is the ABSENCE of internet which allowed our family to bond on beautiful Lake Gaston. We even arrived a little early and the super sweet cleaning lady let us dock the boat while she was finishing up. So a full day on the lake was a bonus. Malena is a very responsive owner also. Love the boat lift access and the fishing on the dock. Caught two big spotted large mouth bass. Just total fun at a 10 star lake cottage. We will be back every Summer we can

Very relaxing

On the lake in a cove. Ample space for boats in and out but small enough to stay quiet. A turtle would come and greet us in the morning and evening.

Comfy, Cozy and Clean

We stayed 3 nights with 2 adults and 4 teenagers and had a wonderful time. The house was very clean and the beds were comfy. A great place to relax and enjoy nature. The teens loved the downstairs area to hang out and play football and air hockey while the parents enjoyed hanging out playing cards on the deck. We all had a wonderful time on the kayaks. Would rent again and hope to come back soon!

Always a great getaway!

Our third year at this property, and it's always a great vacation. The property is super clean and well-maintained. Community boat ramp is convenient to the private dock. Pea Hill Creek is a bit calmer and quieter than the main lake (ideal for kids' water activities) but the main lake is only a short boat ride away. Communications with the owner have always been great - prompt response to questions, and everything is as advertised or better.

They've thought of everything!

Relative to other houses we have rented, Lyric's Lair is extremely well stocked. The kitchen had every tool I needed, including sharp knives. The game area downstairs had tons of DVDs to choose from and a big pile of video games for the younger ones to play, as well as several bookshelves that had something for every age group. The bathrooms were spotless, the beds were very comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well and kept us all very comfortable in spite of the 90+ degree weather outside. We would highly recommend this for your next trip to the lake!

Beautiful grounds, quiet and scenic. Very clean and no clutter. Downstairs very cool and comfortable. Not sure the ACunit could cool off upstairs sufficiently had it been hotter. We were fortunate as the weather was cool. We definitely would rent again.

Family of 5

Our family of 5 stayed for 3 nights. The property is as listed and is very clean. Great outdoor space and views of the lake. It rained 2 of the 3 days we were there so we didn't get to enjoy the lake but the house has plenty to do. Books, games, movies and air hockey. There is no internet service at the property. Cell reception is spotty, I have AT&T and my husband has Sprint. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful stay

We truly enjoyed our stay. The property was amazing and we all had a great time. The air hockey table and foosball table were very entertaining along with the large tv below. We will definitely try to stay here again.

Hello! We are the Blevins family. We live in Woodbridge, Virginia and are a family of three. A working wife and husband who both work in downtown Washington, DC and our daughter, Lyric, for whom the house is named (Lyric's Lair) We are your typical two-income working busy family. We love making memories at Lake Gaston and still schedule use of the house ourselves working around our many repeat renters who come back each year to make their own memories at Lake Gaston.

Why they chose this property

This property was originally supposed to be a 'build it and sell it" type of investment, but we fell in love with Lake Gaston and its been an important part of our life ever since. We didn't originally think we would rent the house, but found that we loved it so much we wanted to share our little piece of Lake Gaston heaven with others who wanted to enjoy this unique lake.

Everything we do, we do with family in mind. Like childproof locks and outlet covers throughout the house so that parents with small children can relax a bit more. Nightlights, and a booster seat are provided as an assist for the little ones to feel comfortable in a new place. The movie area downstairs has a sectional sofa instead of theater seating so everyone can sit together. We work hard to keep the house in excellent shape, keep it modern and provide all the comforts of home for our guests.

What makes this property unique

The house faces the west, so the sunsets in the evening are particularly spectacular from the upstairs deck. The house is shaded and protected by the tall trees that stand in the yard. These trees provide shade, and protection from boat noise, but most of all provide a natural playground for many species of native birds, including humming birds, and red crested woodpeckers. The low level lights outside at night provide opportunities for star gazing at a level you just can't get in the city. The lake house was really designed to fit as unobtrusively as possible into its natural surroundings. We have a saying in our family that goes "You haven't been TO the lake, until you have been IN the lake"!

With the increased interest in renting at Lake Gaston, new businesses are popping up all the time! We are now just a short drive from a coffee shop, breweries, a winery, and antique shops.
