Stayed for three nights. The property is pretty well maintained and we enjoyed our stay. There are always things to fix in a rental but nothing lessened our enjoyment except the wi-fi coverage. Really looked forward to fishing and the lake did not disappoint! We are talking about when we can plan another trip already. Thanks, Tom!

Sad condition on great location
Property has great views. Geese and cows (grass mowers) were a delight. House was dirty. Needs top to bottom cleaning, (walls, furniture, floors) by professionals. Base boards in master bedroom were FILTHY. Drawers without pulls. Random items in drawers and cabinets. Cobwebs throughout house were covered with dust. This house could be charming, but lacks cleaning. House smelled of dust and having been closed up for an extended period of time. The cleaning “service” is woefully inadequate.
Great place to stay! Mr. Moreno is a wonderful host. Not intrusive but always willing to have a short chat and share the history of the property. It's so interesting. I truly enjoy my time here and his chats.
This was our 4th trip to this cabin, our stay was lovely as always. The cabin is perfect for hanging out and BBQing with our family. We were lucky to catch a few fish with our sons and continue the tradition building memories there!
Neat little cabin in a serene pasture. Nice and close to lake Wildwood, where they unfortunately don't allow short term rentals. This is next best thing. Highly recommend
New microwave for popcorn, new flat screen for movie night. Kitchen set up for simple meals. The cabin is clean, but rustic. Perfect for a relaxing getaway. HIghly recommended and I can't wait to go back.
Tom is a great host! He is friendly, but not intrusive. Because I am there often, we have become aquaintences and he holds a great conversation.
My family stayed here for a weekend to attend a wedding nearby. The location was perfect for us to get to Lake Wildwood. Unfortunately it rained because the property was perfect to let the kids run off some energy. We were unable to get inside when we first arrived however the host was able to come let us in.
Comfortable as always. Saw a couple of geese with their goslings the first morning. I don't go there to fish, but Mr. Moreno commented on his excitement of sharing his pond, especially with first time fishing kids. Wonderful place for a family fishing weekend. Not into fishing? No problem! Awesome place to just relax, read, watch movies or stare out at the beautiful surroundings from the wrap-around portch.

About the host
Hosted by Thomas Moreno
We have owned this property since 1996 and have lived near by since 1977. Now that we have retired and decided not to have permanent tenants, we decided to make out Log Home available as a Vacation rental along with the stock 2.5 acre lake.
Why they chose this property
The Cabin is located on a Golf Course like manicured 10 acres with a covered deck and lake. We created a 2.5 acre lake 100 feet off the front deck. The cabin is a Cedar Log Home and the entire interior is Cedar Lined (no sheet rock anywhere.) with a great room with an arched beam ceiling. It has the feel of a mountain lodge.
What makes this property unique
Our log home is situated 15 minutes from Grass Valley and Nevada City away from the busy traffic of town. The Lake Wildwood Center 1/2 mile away making grocery shopping available. Several restaurants available close by. Penn Valley is at a 1500 foot elevation in the Sierra Foothill, providing easy access to many vacation activities such as Gold Country Touring, fishing, hunting and just relaxing.
