This was our second time hosted by Chris and Todd at Brierfield. As always we appreciated their attention to detail and thoughtfulness. All of the amazing animal friends are a bonus - Debbie, Izze, and the whole bunch. We enjoyed the peace and pace of the cottage which always allows us the time to reconnect. We already can't wait to return.
We were lucky to have found this cozy cottage for our one night stay. We were very entertained by all the animals that welcomed us. The hospitality could not have been better. Chris and Todd certainly went above and beyond. We hope to visit again, hopefully for a longer stay.
A wonderful cottage with everything needed to make the stay memorable. Private yet owners are nearby if needed.Checkin was easy and location was safe. I would not hesitate to stay again when visiting Gettysburg.
Honestly, I don't have enough adjectives to describe the experience. The surroundings which included rabbits, chickens, turkeys, roosters, hens was absolutely idyllic. The lodgings were perfect, clean and quaint. Numerous not expected amenities, i.e., cheese and crackers, OJ, water, wine and more.I would highly recommend
Like everyone says, the visits by their pet rabbits, chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys are good for the soul. The interior of the cabin felt larger than I expected from the appearance from the outside, and well appointed and provisioned with very nice towels and sheets. There is no stove/range, but the hosts promptly brought us a propane grill that filled our cooking needs very well. A very memorable stay.
Me and my boyfriend stayed for our spring break, and we wish our stay was longer! we fell in love with all the animals and the peacefulness of the cottage. we will definitely be back another time, and if you have the chance to visit you should!!
The cottage we stayed at was really tidy, clean and cozy. It was on a peaceful little farm with chickens, turkeys and bunnies. They left us a bag of cereal to feed them which was a fun surprise. The animals were super friendly and an added bonus to the visit. Our host also offered a bunch of little snacks and had everything you would need for weekend get away. Definitely a 10 out of 10. 5 stars for this place. Highly recommend and will be going back to see what it's like in the summer.
Our stay was nothing short of magical. The property is so beautiful and well cared for. The hosts were extremely friendly, the fridge was stocked with goodies, and they plowed/shoveled the walkways and driveway when the snow hit! Gettysburg in winter was absolutely beautiful and I can’t wait to come back to the property in the summer to experience it all over again.
Staying at Brierfield is always wonderful and is our goo to place to stay when visiting Gettysburg! Chris and Todd are great people and their farm animals make everything magical! Izzy is the best dog around!
We have yet to stay somewhere so beautiful and inviting! I just cannot wait to stay again and enjoy all the wonderful wildlife. You won't need a thing, Chris and Todd have stocked everything ready! There is nowhere else like it in Gettysburg!
I can’t say enough good things about this cottage. Beautiful setting. So many thoughtful amenities. Friendly and welcoming hosts. Amazing tame animals on the property that are irresistible! I miss them!! We had only a 2 night stay, but a return (longer) visit is definitely in our future.
We just departed from our 2 night stay at Chris and Todd's charming Cushing cottage. We could not have asked for better hosts or accommodations. We're already planning our next visit. Between the quiet surroundings, the thoughtful touches, and the company of our hosts' menagerie of sweet pets - we found our happy place and can't wait to return!
My husband and I have stayed at Brierfield for the last 4 times we've been to Gettysburg. It's magical and relaxing! We love the animals... Rabbits, turkeys, chickens, ducks, cats and Izzy the dog! The cottage is clean, cozy and welcoming aver very close to town.
The place is so clean! The sheets are soft bed comfortable it was a perfect getaway for my husband and myself! Just love sitting on the porch and watching nature and all the bunnies.
We really enjoyed our stay at Cushing Cottage. Everything was as described and then some. The location is fantastic, quiet and peaceful yet close to Gettysburg. Loved the animals coming by for a visit every morning! I was a little worried about them having a rooster, but we never heard him crow until after 8 a.m. (not 5 a.m.) which was fine with us. Chris and Todd are great hosts, and really go above and beyond with all the snacks they supply, which adds to the value. You'd be hard-pressed to eat/drink it all! I also appreciated not having a silly 'cleaning fee'. Overall, very pleased and hope to stay here again.
This 400 sq. foot cottage is amazing. It was the cleanest place we stayed during our 2-week trip, and it felt spacious with the way it is designed and furnished. The fun farm setting was perfect and the hostess was great in providing the little "extras" that made our time there so special.
