This apartment is on the 1st floor and has an elevator. Located on the corner of Palmer Street and Petty France (please see the street map link below), it's in one of London's most prestigious neighbourhoods - Saint James's Park's regal and historical district, beside Mayfair.
Listen to the King's regimental brass band practice during some lunchtimes on the grounds adjacent to the apartment from your apartment.
Why not take a Royal stroll alongside your London home? Saint James's Park is a magnificent sweep of open lawns, trees, and gardens with a lake at its very heart!
Once you've crossed the park, you'll arrive at the Mall - a broad open avenue that runs between Trafalgar Square, London's Theatreland, and Buckingham Palace. You'll notice Trafalgar Square and Admiralty Arch on the right, with Buckingham Palace on the left. The Mall is lined with many stately buildings.
Check to see if the 'Royal Standard', the King's flag is flying outside Buckingham Palace - this means she's at home!
Catch the Changing of the Guards or visit the state rooms of Buckingham Palace itself or the state carriages and splendid horses at the Royal Mews.
Check the London Tourist Board's website to see what's happening (the King's Birthday, Lord Mayor Show, etc.). Albany Court will give you an advantage when all these events are on, as you're so close to all the action!
To the right of the building are the Houses of Parliament, the River Thames, and Westminster Abbey. You can adjust your wristwatch to Big Ben within two minutes of leaving Albany Court. At the Houses of Parliament, visit the House of Lords, House of Commons, and the 'Strangers' Galleries.'
Westminster Abbey is the ceremonial site of almost every British coronation from William the Conqueror in 1066 to King Charles in 2024.
Monarchs buried here include Henry VII, Elizabeth I, and Mary, Queen of Scots. Nearby is the Tomb to the Unknown Warrior and Poet's Corner, the resting place of Chaucer, Robert Browning, and Alfred Tennyson. Number Ten Downing Street, the Prime Minister's office, is also nearby.
The River Thames is beside the Houses of Parliament. At Westminster Pier, catch a boat to the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Tate Modern art gallery, Saint Paul's Cathedral, and Greenwich to visit its Maritime Museum and Observatory. Alternatively, visit the London Eye, London Aquarium, and South Bank Arts Centre just a walk over Westminster Bridge.
You will also be surrounded by London's - if not the world's - greatest art collections: The Royal Academy (home to Constable, Gainsborough, etc.), Tate Britain (Hockney, Turner, and British art from the 1500s onwards), The National Gallery (Van Gogh, Monet, Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Goya, and Rembrandt), or take a Damien Hirst-designed boat to the Tate Modern (Dali, Picasso, Mattisse, Munch, Pollock, Lichtenstin, etc.).
For some shopping therapy, visit Pall Mall, Picadilly Circus, Regent Street, Oxford Street, or New Bond Street. Foodies will love Fortnum and Mason's food hall. To stock up on general groceries go to various mini supermarkets such as Little Waitrose on Victoria Street just round the corner (only 100 metres away).
The side entrance of Saint James's Park tube station is RIGHT BESIDE Albany Court. This is extremely convenient for all, particularly those traveling to/from Heathrow Airport.
Gatwick Airport travelers just take the Gatwick Express train to/from Victoria Train Station, which is just at the end of Victoria Street and literally a five-minute taxi journey.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, espresso coffee machine, french press, gas hob, electric oven, and dishwasher
The bathroom features a Matki shower enclosure, natural light, and a heated towel rail (October to April). The latest 'ionic' hairdryer'. The entire flat is bathed in sunlight as the ceilings are very high and it benefits from both south and west aspects.
There's fibre internet with a speed of around 50 Mbps, and smart TV (bring your Netflix login details). In addition to wifi, we also have a wired CAT5 cable if you prefer to connect via cable to your laptop.
