I would recommend this house to anybody. We enjoyed the porch during the beautiful weather we had. Was great to be able to hear the waves while we sat outside in the morning and evenings before being gone exploring all day. Was perfect for what we needed!
We've stayed in this house twice with a few families visiting nearby family in Porstmouth. Even in the fall, it's great to have the beach so close so the kids can run around. Highly recommend
Perfect location, great house, came as advertised. There was a problem with a leak in the ceiling when we arrived, but we worked with the property manager and the owner to get it fixed quickly. Would stay there again.
Great location! David was a superb host, gave us great restaurant recommendations and responded promptly to all my questions. Rye is really beautiful. House was perfect for the five of us.

Wedding weekend for entire family
Our family Metin Rye to celebrate a wedding. The 4 kids loved the third floor bedroom. We all had fun playing in the yard but the close walk to the beach was a highlight of our visit. The house had kitchen supplies as well as soaps and shampoos in the shower. We appreciated all the small touches in the house.
We used every bit of this house. There were 5 adults and a two year old and a 4 month old. We loved the front porch. The walk to the beach was quick and easy. We replaced the batteries in one of the remotes and did purchase shot glasses to leave there. The freezer was hard to pull open but maybe it’s not used that often. We would definitely stay here again.

A Wonderful Getaway
We just completed almost a week at this warm and welcoming home. It really does have everything you need and is perfectly situated to enjoy all of the coastal communities from Seabrook to Portsmouth. We did get to walk on the beach, even with the cold weather. We especially enjoyed the fact that the house had been decorated for the holidays, complete with lighted tree. We were only two people, but there is room for a bunch and plenty of space for everyone to spread out on the three floors. Although it was too cold for us to use them, there are wonderful outdoor decks and neighbors are sufficiently far away that it feels quite private.
Overall, an excellent property with very thoughtful and accommodating owners .

Wonderful older home and so close to the beach!
We had a wonderful 3 day stay ! 6 girlfriends so the lg number of beds worked great. Beds were very comfortable & linens great quality. The owners have made some great updates. This is an old house and the update dollars have been well spent. Having comfortable bedding, new dishwasher and nice beachy furniture were great. As for clean the house was immaculate!
Our favorite part was being able to go out the door and in 2 minutes you are on a gorgeous beach. We went out every morning to watch the sunrise and loved being able to open the windows and listen to the roar of the waves.
If you are looking for an upscale modern home this is not your rental. If you are looking for a cozy beach side affordable rental I would highly recommend.

House wasn’t all that was expected.
It was very disappointing. We were not sure because the house is for sell that it was lacking in what you expect when you rent or it is how it has been rented right along. Which doesn’t bode well for the renter.
There was one light in the living room which made it hard to read or visit when dusk started and only one end table. When you have six adults with snacks and drinks it didn’t work well.
The kitchen light did not work at all so we had to make sure our meals were prepared before dark and had to use iPhone flashlight to run the dish washer.
The refrigerator was left with lots of alcohol and lots of condiments which we had to empty to get all of our food in.
We prepare all of our own food.
The dishes were also lacking. There wasn’t enough of the set that was there to insure we all had plates and bowls to eat.
The area itself was beautiful and we enjoyed ourselves when out and about.
I stayed here for 5 days, 4 nights at this beautiful house with my husband, both parents, 3 year old and 7 month old daughters. We opted not to use the upstairs bedroom because it was pretty hot for our stay in June and the stairs a bit steep for our 3 year old to navigate without help, but we were comfortable all staying on the second floor (1 room with 2 queen beds for my husband, myself, 3 year old and we brought a packnplay for the baby). My parents stayed in the master bedroom:)
This property is definitely walking distance to the beach - when we paid to get into Odiorne State Park it was a further walk to the beach from paid parking(!). I walked there every morning when baby woke up early in the morning for a beach walk before everyone else was awake!
The house was super clean and very well equipped for cooking and eating. We purchased some cooking spray and paper plates which we left behind for the next guests but there was beer in the fridge and spring water on the counter♥️
Ray's Seafood was just a short drive away for awesome lobster dinner. We used the grill on the porch for grilled chicken and worked great!
Even though we'd stay here again in a heartbeat if we ever come back to Rye Beach, we would recommend a few changes to make this property even better:
1) dresser in the queen bedroom and/or more hangers
2) mat by the front door to help catch sand
3) repair kitchen faucet handle, it's loose
4) hooks or coat rack by the front door
5) a few lightbulbs need replacing
None of these changes would cause a loss in my rating or desire to come back. Lovely place and we had a wonderful time♥️♥️♥️
We rented this property for our Christmas vacation traveling from California many months in advance. About a month before our trip we got a call from the property manger stating there was some sort of problem with the heating system or something and it would not be complete by Christmas. We were then offered the use of the owners private vacation home in another town 40 minutes away. We agreed to stay there because at that point it was getting very close to our travel date. It was requested that we sign a 15 page rental agreement for our 5 day stay that was a little over the top. In the mean time we kept getting our arrival welcome emails from VRBO for the Rye House.
The home was very nice but it was their personal home not a vacation home. It had their personal belongings in closets and drawers, family pictures on the walls and that and many other things felt very strange and very uncomfortable.
The worst part was when we drove to visit friends near the Rye house, there were cars in the driveway. More than once. It appeared that someone else was staying there. I inquired about it and was told that was not the case but it did not look that way.
Any way, VRBO keeps sending me review requests so this is our submission. I could not submit this review without doing the star rating so this is based on the property we actually stayed at. We appreciate the fact that we had someplace to stay, however, we are very disappointed we did not get to use the house we had chosen.
Clean, well equipped, location is great. Lots of outdoor porches to enjoy the sunshine throughout the day.
Only minor suggestion, might be time for a new grill, the one that is available has been well loved but works.
We celebrated my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. It was a total of 4 families with ages from 1-70. We had a great time. There was plenty of room and we ate all our meals in the house. Beach just a short walk away.
Nice, large house with lots of charm and space. We ended up with a smaller party than we had planned for. We could have had many more family members. One day we had lots of them over for a lobster boil. There was plenty of space for cooking and eating. Plenty of pots and pans, dishes and utensils as well. We were also lucky to have lovely weather and fall colors all week.
There were a few quirks that you can expect in an older home, but nothing worth noting. Communication with the owner and manager was easy and they responded quickly.
I'd gladly stay in this house again.
Comfortable house with plenty of room in a nice area. Easy, five minute walk to the beach. Great front porch with rocking chairs. We enjoyed morning coffee on the porch and playing cards on the porch in the evening.
Perfect location to enjoy Jenness Beach without the crowds. House was clean and everything we needed was readily available. We would absolutely stay again!
Beautiful home, spacious and clean, kitchen full of everything needed to cook, best feature of all is it’s location just steps from our favorite gorgeous beach
