This cabin was amazing for our winter break! The host is awesome and everything was clean and well organized. The pictures don’t do this place justice! We can’t wait to come back again!
We spent a week at the cottage during winter months and it was still lovely. It’s a short walk to the lake and short drive to the town. The accommodations were spacious and comfortable just what we needed for a winter escape/getaway.
Our group of 4 enjoyed ourselves over a long weekend in November.
What we liked:
- Location. Close drive to town!
- Large living room and kitchen/dining area
- Kitchen appliances (dishwasher, coffee maker, kettle, pots and pans, etc.)
- Washer and dryer
- Spacious bedrooms
What could be better:
- We didn't have any hot water in the upstairs sinks (the shower was fine but water pressure was inconsistent)
- Overall cleanliness
We loved our stay here. Our family is from Skaneateles and the property is close to where my Mom grew up on the Collard Road. The property was clean and had all the bells and whistles necessary. The fireplace made the stay cozy. It made a perfect home base for our cemetery hopping to see the ancestors!
We had a very nice stay! We were under 10 mins from downtown skaneatlas and it was awesome this place allowed dogs so we had our pooch launch of the lake deck playing fetch the whole weekend.
The cottage is a bit nicer than the photos. Large tiled open area on first floor. The living room has plenty of seating. Kitchen well supplied. Nice size first floor bedroom and huge upper bedroom, with king bed, and a wide hallway with a twin bed. It is across a private lane and down to your own private dock. Beautiful location 5 miles outside of town. We brought an extension cord and power strip which came in handy.
Quaint spot seconds from the lake in a cozy cottage.
Stayed at this cottage for 2 nights while visiting family nearby. Has everything you need to host a family meal. Well decorated, warm, and comfortable abode.
Lots of love went into making this place an ideal retreat for a few nights. Enjoy it if you can!
Nice location near the village of Skaneateles. Two roomy bedrooms and a nice, open gathering area. Quiet street. Note there is no lake view from the house and the (many) stairs to the lake and dock are across the street. Host is super nice and responsive!
Great property for a family of 5. Fireplaces worked well on a chilly night. Host was very accommodating. Convenient to Skaneateles and its restaurants and shops. Definitely recommend this lake cottage.
We loved our “home away from home” for two weeks. The cabin was warm and cozy! Great mattress and beautifully decorated! We will definitely rent again! ❤️🌟
We were looking for a place for 4 adults to stay for a birthday weekend. We found the lake side cottage and it fit our needs. Booking was easy and the host gave us our door code. Upon arrival, which they gave us 2 hours early, we found a very qute and well set up cottage with a lake house theme. Everything was as advertised. We found the place to be clean with all items needed for a comfortable stay. I would recommend and also stay here again. It is a 8-10 min car ride to town.
We celebrated my daughter’s 40 th birthday with a day at the spa followed by a very pleasant night at this lovely cottage by the lake. It was a cool and rainy day but we were delighted to enter this warm welcoming and nicely decorated cottage. The gas fireplace and comfortable furniture made us feel at home. We loved the open floor plan and the kitchen was equipped with everything you need. I would recommend this cottage for a getaway weekend anytime or a summer vacation. The sky cleared just in time to view a beautiful sunset !!
This is a cute 2 bedroom cottage across the street from the main house. While near the lake, it is not directly on the lake, though guests may walk across the street over through a path with private lake access and stairs.
The cottage itself is updated with modern appliances, tile floors and has a gas fireplace which also serves as the heating for the downstairs.
The owner and host Brian was very accommodating when we requested a lower chair for my elderly parents.
Seens like it would be a fun spot in the summer months. We enjoyed the fire pit!
This rental on a quiet street with parking. Easy entrance into the house (no steps) and a half bath located off the living room for guests--this was nice as we had some elderly family members visiting. The living room, kitchen, and dining room are one big open space--coastal/lake decorations made it feel cozy and comfortable. Everyone liked the fireplace. We had plenty of room for visiting family. The master bedroom upstairs was spacious and private. The bathroom had all the essentials--towels, soap, and tp. The refrigerator contained condiments which is convenient when you are traveling and don't have to buy all the extras--much appreciated. Brian was easy to communicate with and even offered late checkout.
Overall I would state that this was a clean and comfortable house. I did have to call the property manager as no check in details were sent on how to access the property- but then he was very helpful in providing any information we needed.
I was a little underwhelmed as to the overall finish/standard of the property given the nightly charges. With cleaning and insurance it cost nearly $500 a night. It felt a little tired. The fridge/ freezer had leftover foods from previous visits.

Nice place with some issues
Sweet spot although not directly on the Lake. You can see the Lake in between 2 houses. The worst problem was the smell of mold in the downstairs bedroom really needs to be fixed. Also there were no side lamps only very bright white overhead lighting. Also there was only 1 tiny shampoo bottle, and we thought there would be more supplies. Some of the towels smelled moldy as well. I don't think it's right when we are paying a large sum per night, with all the fees,, to require us to change the sheets and take out the garbage. Optional is fine. Fireplace was very nice. Fortunately they had one iron skillet because we don't like using the Teflon coated pans that are carcinogenic. It would have been nice if we had an indication from the owner that we could just go in hen we arrived,, because we were not sure how to get in.
