The cabin was filled with damp-rid containers. Water smelled like rotten eggs. Couldnt use shower because of sludgy brown water. Had to unplug air conditioner/air purifier to plug in tv. The outside of the cabin with the river and fire pit was serene. Our family cant afford much so this was dissapointing. And im not one to complain.
The cabin was very nice. The bedrooms were large . The only thing we wished it had was 2 bathrooms. Even if 1 was a half bath. When 4 ppl wake up all at the same time in the middle of the night racing to the bathroom to go potty. Lol. That wasn't fun. Lol. But other than that it was a very nice stay. The river was beautiful to sit by and watch the water flow over the rocks .
Our family of four and two pups took a last minute end of Summer vacation before school started. Kids had a blast playing in the river. Husband enjoyed the opportunity to do some fly fishing just steps from the cabin. Dogs loved all the smells and frogs to investigate. I loved getting one last time.
My friends and I just needed an overnight stop while we continued heading to northern Michigan. Mike's cabin is right on the river, so a great view when relaxing on the back porch, and is set up great for our group of 4. We will definitely be staying here again next year if it is available.
Great cabin with the river running through the back of the property, came equipped with everything we needed for our 2 day stay, easy check-in, gas grill was a plus.. heat and a/c were both used as it was 80+ when we checked in but the temp in the morning was 32! Crazy, but that's Michigan.. :-)
We have stayed at many listing through Homeaway/VRBO. This is the first one we were unhappy with. I feel the pictures made it look MUCH better than it actually is. I was not clean - it is close to the road- it was really musty smelling. The traffic and the light right over the bedroom window kept us up all night. It would be a fine destination for fishermen that are just looking for a place to sleep. The bathtub and bathroom were filthy! I took pictures and would add them but not able to here. This property was very overpriced!
Beautiful location by a stream with a large patio and wood burning fire pit. Lots of utensils for cooking but missed having some basic pantry staples, utensil scrub.
The cabin was clean and well outfitted, the bed was comfortable, we cooked in (kitchen was pretty well equipped), and the service was helpful and friendly. Perfect for us, passing through with our dog, for an easy, comfortable, enjoyable stay.
Had a great long weekend. The cabin was clean and has a great view of the Baldwin River right off the front porch. Clean linens, comfortable beds, pot & pans, everything needed to make it a great stay.
The cabin was clean, had everything we needed from towels and soap to pans and a coffee pot. We will be staying here again. Show up with you clothes and food, that's all you need.
Listed as seen. Sits off the road with plenty of room. It does sit on a busy main road (55 mph) as explained in previous reviews. But it is set back enough not to worry with the dogs who are not used to just roaming around. It was perfect, little noise from the traffic in the morning mainly. Backs up to the river which is so peaceful and quiet. The cabin was equipped with everything you could ever need. Friendly staff courteous service and there to help when needed. This is a great place to stay and will love to come back. Nice relaxing comfortable getaway for us and the dogs! Love the lights on the bridge at night too!!
Our stay was so great! The cabin overlooked the Baldwin river and was a nice relaxing view over the weekend. There was a fire pit next to the river as well. We brought our tubes and floated and drank all day. After we sat around the fire pit and continued our festivities. Inside was a nice community country kitchen table to eat, play cards, or a fun board game. Both rooms were really spacious and clean. One room had a king bed, the other with two fulls. The deck had a grill and another table to eat outside. This cabin was set away from the others from the lodge. The only thing was that the main road was 100ft away. Besides that our stay was great and we would stay again!
We arranged for a one night stay in Baldwin with our dog. The cottage was clean and comfortable, but no place to walk the dog. It is right on the river, but also right next to a busy highway. Very small lot.
This was better than the pictures listed. The creek is right off the back deck, clear water and beautiful spot. Very secluded from neighbors, but a little close to the highway. The creek is too fast to paddle upstream, so plan on two vehicles for a drop off point, or we were actually able to book a car service through Baldwin Canoe Rentals. They moved our vehicle to the drop off point for us. We kayaked the scenic route of the Huron Manistee National Forest. Stunning. We will be back for fishing next time!
Very cute place. Lots of privacy. Creek/river clean and nice. A little sad we could not tube farther due to tree blockage down the way, but still fun and we had no idea where we were going anyway. Owner accommodating. Beds super comfy. Kitchen nice and good for group gathering to eat or play cards.
We really enjoyed our stay! My husband and I stayed here for our 16th anniversary trip. The cabin was clean and welcoming, the air conditioning was running and the cabin was nice and cool. Beds were comfortable, the shower was nice (water pressure was good and the hot water was nice and hot). Plenty of space in the kitchen. We drove in to Ludington for dinner and a sunset view, and day tripped out to Traverse city and Leland. This cabin is a nice location to do lots of things in this area of the state if you don’t mind a little driving. We’d definitely come again!
Beautiful setting, peaceful surroundings, will definitely visit again. Thanks to staff for cleaning up after us. 6 grown men partying after sledding all day can leave quite a mess!
