Paradise on earth !!!

Breathtaking views, total tranquility, come enjoy the mountains at their most serene. This home is a 4 bedroom 4 bath log cabin (Montana logs ) The 4th bedroom is a spacious loft over the detached garage . It has a refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven and toaster and full bath. The cabin is located on 20 acres just a short distance from downtown Asheville as well as lots of other wonderful attractions. ......Hiking trails and beautiful mountain views...The home is situated down an asphalt 700 foot easy grade (less than 7 degrees) driveway. It's always manageable without a 4 wheel drive unless we get some rare and uncharacteristic ice after a snow melt. It has only happened to us once in 5 years. The Estate is Very Private.. It is Green Cleaned and a solar panel system is in the works. We now accept credit cards. Please inquire directly. .

Roomy Cabin with great yard, stream, & woods

Everyone had a great time and weather was clear for exploring the huge yard, hill, and adjacent mountain woods. Eating space was roomy for our big family and house & garage loft temperatures were fine for these cold winter days. Our host Daryl was very accommodating with our questions. Bath shower water pressure was a little low and we needed more than the 8 bathroom towels provided.

Short stay

Fletcher is a nice town about 20 min away from everything. We had 13 family members the 1st night and 10 the 2nd. pros: the property was very private with a nice driveway and excellent parking. that is extremely hard to find in the mountains. there were a lot of beds and the mattresses were really comfortable. linens and bath towels were provided. cons: the water pressure was not good. after about the 2nd or 3rd person to shower in the morning there was only a trickle left so many of our group was not able to shower. there was no hand soap, no hand towels, no kitchen towels, no oven mits or many small essentials that we did not consider. luckily the dollar general was close by so we purchased those. the house sleeps up to 14 but there were only 4 dining chairs and 3 bar stools. nowhere for people to sit and play games or eat. the house was freezing when we arrived and we never figured out how to turn on the fire place. Most of the cons are definitely fixable but the price was too high in my opinion for all of the inconveniences. No showers was the biggest hassle.

Log cabin

We came for the weekend for my son's wedding with my mom and dad and some old friends, one of our friends was in a wheelchair and the owner built us a ramp, which was so very nice and helpful. The property was in a beautiful, peaceful setting and close to our venue in Asheville. Had a great weekend!

While the property is beautiful the a/c did not work the entire weekend in the summer which is unacceptable. The owner literally told us it can’t be fixed but don’t worry it will cool off this evening. The inside of the house thermometer read at 80°! Made it very hard to sleep! Also, 2 mornings in a row we had no running water! I am seeking a refund as this highly unacceptable for the rate we paid.

The cabin was nice but the sleeping accommodations weren’t exactly as I’d been told they were. I have an email from the owner saying there were two twins in each bedroom and two in garage, as well as queen beds. There was only one twin in each bedroom (with a queen). This messed up our sleeping arrangements for each family. Two people ended up sleeping on couches. There were also not enough towels, wash clothes, hand towels, etc for 14 people. We had to go out and buy towels. The grill wasn’t in good condition. One nice thing was the patio and the addition of the fire pit. Enough dishes and it was clean enough. It would have been nice to arrive with the AC turned on. It was stifling upon arrival in both the house and apt. Both set at 80 with 90 temp outside. Owner communication was great and the flexibility of check in was nice. The gps doesn’t quite get you to the property. You have to go further down the street and turn down a lane before getting to the house. It’s a beautiful entryway. The house was good for a short stay. The rules made you feel like you couldn’t get too comfy.

Family Christmas 2022

We just returned from the Best Holiday Experience in years with our Entire Family. This home was met with beyond our expectations. Upon our arrival, we were Greeted my the owners family member to request us to keep a trickle of water running through the pipes. Yes, we arrived with temperatures being the coldest this community had seen in years. The fireplace was lit, the heater was running, and we all settled in for our Family Christmas 2022 Vacation. We had a fire in the Fire Pit from logs that were cut and waiting on us. We grilled steaks for Christmas Dinner while the older children and some adults played tag football in the massive cleared back yard. The evenings were filled with much cooking and holiday baking in the extensive kitchen with many of all cooking utensils needed. The children were delighted to roll out cookie dough on the oversized granite bar while Christmas Carols being sung aloud. This sounds almost too pictures but is truth. The bedrooms were large and beds comfortable. The loft beds provided excellant picture opportunities as well as sleeping conditions for the little ones. My BEST VIEWS were from the loft looking out the back massive windows and watching my children & grands playing and making memories. We used the Loft above the garage...staying very warm as well. This area provided 2 twin loft beds and a queen bed, a Television and another bathroom. My husband and I stayed there with 2 grandsons...they thought this was cool. This also provided some quite area for some little ones to nap. I would highly recommend this beautiful home for a large or small family. The Owners were extremely accommodating and easy to communicate with. You will not be disappointed.

Nice place

Overall a good place. It was clean and had good amenities. There were not enough towels for us, we had 12 people and 8 towels. We ended up grabbing a few extra at the dollar general (I want to note we didn’t reach out to the owner, we just grabbed some cheap ones easily while out). We also couldn’t find oven mits & I suggest bringing extra trash bags. I wouldn’t say more than 12 could stay there comfortably. Overall the property was beautiful and we had a great stay there!! We enjoyed it and enjoyed the privacy of the property as well. We would probably stay again (maybe with 10 or so people).

Perfect for an Asheville getaway!

This was our first time to Asheville and our experience was great! The house was VERY clean with plenty of bedding/towels/kitchen supplies, etc. the owner was very kind and kept in contact throughout our entire stay. The only trouble we had was finding the driveway (which is beautiful!) because we arrived in the dark and weren’t familiar with the area. Wish we could have stayed longer!!

Spacious log cabin to unwind in Asheville

We enjoyed our stay in Daryl's log cabin. There was some miscommunication about early check-in, and I think the photos could use some updating - in a good way. There are twin beds in the loft area, for example, that aren't shown in the listing photos. The check-in binder could also be updated, as we weren't sure if we could use the fireplace and if so, how to safely operate it. The house was well stocked, although we couldn't access extra towels or blankets. Overall would recommend if you're looking for a nice home away from home that's 15-20 minutes from downtown Asheville.

My family and I spent the weekend here for a family wedding. The house was amazing!!!! The pictures don't do it justice. Beautiful property, super comfy beds, not lacking anything. The owners were super nice and helpful! Would definitely return!

A Stunning Retreat - even better than the photos!

Do not sleep on this property! It was tucked away along a short, winding driveway in its own secluded piece of the mountains. Just a short drive to downtown Asheville, the airport, or right into the mountains. The photos do not do this place justice - it is absolutely stunning! The views are inherently peaceful, and we saw some turkeys and deer to top it off! The inside is beautiful, again the photos do not compare to what it is in person! The home was clean and everything we needed was provided. Communication with the owner, Daryl, was excellent. He responded quickly to any questions I had, and was a great resource during our stay. If you're ever in Asheville, check this place out! I know I will be returning if I'm in the area again!

Lovely, large log cabin

The property and home are gorgeous. Kitchen is well stocked. Communication with the owner was easy. We had a problem finding the place because gps thinks that addresses run chronologically. Apparently, in the NC mountains, this is not so! Neighbors were helpful.

Beautiful location!

Easy to reserve online. Nice outdoor property and beautiful log home! Accommodations good for our family of 9. Could have used more towels. More maintenance/repairs needed outside with bushes, porches, furniture, grills, etc. Lighting inside could be better. Owner was friendly and helpful.

Perfect stay in an authentic log cabin

We stayed here with a group of friends & had a wonderful stay. The children enjoyed catching fireflies at night and we all enjoyed making s’mores by the fire pit. The beds were comfortable, except our very tall guest needed a king size bed, but we knew this when we booked the cabin. Very peaceful and beautiful cabin. Thank you!

Quick Birthday weekend

My daughter is interning at the Biltmore for the summer, yet turned 21 while there. This was the perfect house/location for celebrating her birthday with her! The outside shrubs are a bit overgrown, cut the view a bit while on porch. The master bathroom was very cold when running the a/c. Otherwise, perfect!

A comfortable place

The house itself is clean. The scenery is impeccable and serene. My suggestions are :make the number of the house bigger. The location of the house is downhill. You can't find the house right away if it is you first time to visit the place. Its a beautiful 🏠.

My name is Daryl. I am a graduate of the University of Florida(Go Gators) I live in Jacksonville, Fl. and divide my time between there, our lake house on Kingsley Lake , and our beautiful cabin in Asheville, NC. In addition to real estate I own an engineering firm. I have 2 college age boys ( UNF)

Why they chose this property

After many years of visiting North Carolina ,I chose Asheville for it's eclectic,scenic, mountainous, and pure natural beauty. I also love it's proximity to numerous outdoor activities. I figured that if it's good enough for the Vanderbilts it's good enough for myself and my family. I chose this particular location for it's views , wildlife, mountain stream and hiking trails. It took 2 years to build and I continue to enjoy further improving the property. I have added an organic farm, (new 2 bd 2 br cabin being built here ) a Japanese garden, a fruit orchard and a solar panel system is in the works.
