Charming Oceanfront Villa with Stunning Views and Heated Pool: Ocean Dunes 402!

Welcome to your coastal retreat! This beautifully appointed villa features a spacious bedroom with a king-size bed, a full-sized kitchen, and a combined living and dining area. For extra comfort, the living room includes a queen-size sofa sleeper and there are two bunk beds in the hallway, perfect for small children.

Step out onto the balcony to enjoy a lovely side view of the ocean, as well as views of the Hilton's courtyard and pool. Ocean Dunes is ideally situated on the south end of the island along South Forest Beach Drive, just a short distance from Coligny Plaza. The property is an oceanfront gem, located approximately 70 yards from the beach.

Each unit at Ocean Dunes includes wireless internet service. The oceanfront pool is heated to a comfortable 82 degrees year-round and is open seven days a week from 9 AM until sunset.

Guests also have access to the Hilton's Oceanside Bar and Grill and Starbucks products!

This one could use an update

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed in unit 402 and while it was ok, it could use a few updates. The shower controls are very dated and the type where the hot turns one way and the cold the opposite way. My wife almost scalded herself when she tried to turn them off and only the cold turned off. I think with a few little updates it could be a great little place. A few suggestions, shorter curtains in the bedroom. The current ones block the airflow of the AC unit. And put a few hooks on the balcony to hang towels and/or swim trunks to dry.

A Great Week on the Island

Jimmy is well is the other office staff are very helpful and will address any issues we have. It was a lovely condo on the fourth floor watching beautiful sunsets and sunrises was awesome. The pools were fabulous and the restaurant by the pool was truly a nice addition.

It’s ok but don’t recommend

The location to restaurants/activities and the beach was amazing! However, you can tell there is not much up keep. When we first arrived, the comforter had multiple stains and the sheets had hair all over it. Luckily we had brought our own blankets and pillows. HIGHLY RECOMMEND BRINING YOUR OWN SHEETS/PILLOWS/BLANKETS. The bed is also extremely uncomfortable- we ended up leaving a night early to get a good nights sleep before the long drive home. Honestly, you get what you pay for.

Our WIFI never did work, we called and explained that it wouldn't work and they said they would send someone to fix it. He did come and left a note saying that he would be back later to get it done. He never returned. Our daughters called ahead and asked if they could have some things put in our room for our anniversary and the lady was kind of rude and said, "we don't do that". I was just not really impressed at all with the whole place. I know you get what you pay for, but I would have thought with it being on the beach like that, that it would have been a lot nicer.

It really wasn't a nice place at all. It was not very well kept up. It was pretty dirty. There were dirty women's underwear in the closet. The toilet wouldn't flush right. The bed was older than me and squeaked every time you moved. It had two window air conditioners that were old and loud. I read a review that someone said they had problems with rats earlier in the year, (that freaked me out). In the pictures, it looks like you have access to two big pools and a beach bar and restrooms. Nope, those are for the Hilton next door. You have a very small pool with four umbrellas in the back of the building. The furniture in the living room was very old and ran down. It said you could not check in until 4:00 but they were only open until 5:30. Very small window to check in. Our WIFI never did work, we called and explained that it wouldn't work and they said they would send someone to fix it. He did come and left a note saying that he would be back later to get it done. He never returned. Our daughters called ahead and asked if they could have some things put in our room for our anniversary and the lady was kind of rude and said, "we don't do that". The property itself was ok. It was dated but it didn’t matter as I was looking for something on the beach. The reason this review isn’t as high is because of the management company. If I’m paying dearly for them to manage it, I would expect communication as to check-in and out procedures and I received nothing and had to email them to know how to get the key, etc. I had also asked a question before we left about the room and was given misinformation. I can’t review the owner because I didn’t hear back from them when I emailed a question…perhaps they didn’t receive but I noticed other reviews talked about them. Overall, it was a place off the beach which is what I wanted. It rained every day so didn’t leave a good taste in my mouth about Hilton Head. Lastly, there was not enough parking at the facility.

The tub/shower replacement would make a huge difference, as it appeared dirty although it probably wasn’t. There is a need for some decor to just give it a homey feel. Another HUGE upgrade would be bedside tables on both sides with USB ports. The AC needs to be checked for mold and mildew. The unit had no soap holder in the BR. No rugs in BR. And notable dust on the clock and lamp in the bedroom. The pillows that went on the bed were under the bed.

Great location

One thing I look for when renting a place like this is outdoor space. The balcony view of the beach was marvelous. The place was clean and well stocked. Couch was very comfortable. I would stay again.

Perfect location and accommodated my family of 5 just fine. Property managers were very friendly. My only negatives were, I would have liked more info such as checkout procedures and amenities or local restaurants, the elevator needed some maintenance and the unit is only stocked with the bare minimum. Unlike other VRBO's we've stayed in, we had to go buy TP, Paper Towels, Coffee Filters, Garbages bags etc for our stay, but that wasn't a big deal. I would definitely stay here again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location of Ocean Dunes was ideal for our family. We all liked it's location because it's on the beach side. We didn't have to cross any street to access the beach. The one bedroom, 1 bath was enough for our family of four. The kids enjoyed sleeping on the bunk beds. If you don't feel comfortable dining out yet, the kitchen is fully stocked with pots and pans, coffee maker, toaster, oven, stove, dishwasher and full sized refrigerator. My kids enjoyed swimming in the pool.
