R.V. in natural setting; Great Social Distancing Location !

Close in to the city, but a little bit country, Jim's R.V. spot has FREE off street gated parking for 2 vehicles (if more parking's needed, just let me know in advance) . There's plenty of cold A/C and a furnace to keep you comfy, The wall mounted flat screen TV swivels to face the bedroom or living room! The factory entertainment system boasts a DVD player, on air AM & FM stations or plug in the aux. cable and jam to your favorites using the inside &/or outside installed speaker systems. There's a built in refrigerator/freezer and microwave oven as well as conventional oven & range top stove. Of course all your cookware is supplied along with dishes, silverware & linens. The bedroom has a new RV size memory foam queen bed & the common area has 2 full size bunk beds. The couch and table also convert to beds if needed. The bathroom has a tub and shower, and there are 2 separately keyed, locking, entry / exit doors to the RV. Feel free to relax in the awaiting hammock or sit around the picnic table outside & kick your shoes off & be comfortable! If you've ever contemplated getting your own R.V.., this is a great way to see if this lifestyle is to your liking! We've got a Bar-B-Q right outside, and if you're wanting to relax in the back yard hot tub, I'm happy to show you how to turn it on. While we also live on the acreage in the main house several hundred feet from the R.V., you'll get as much privacy as you want - come and go as you please - The wide open grassy and treed lot is refreshing and relaxing to return home to after your days journeys are done. I'm available if you need anything extra, just text or call me! We are only 1.5 miles from IH 35, South Congress Ave, & Southpark meadows with literally hundreds of shops, restaurants, bars and entertainment for your enjoyment. Trek east & you're only minutes away from McKinney Falls State Park and U.S. 183. We're closer to the Circuit of the America's (C.O.T.A) racetrack & concert venue than ANY downtown lodging is. ABIA airport is also only about a 15 minute conversation away, and taking the back way there spares you from Austin's rush hour traffic on IH 35. I'm confident that you & your crew will be glad you chose this property!
*UPDATE*:. I have added security cameras on the property that cover the main driveway, the guest parking area and most of the grounds, however the coverage does NOT encompass the R.V. , so you can be assured of your privacy.

Place to stay for family event

We didn’t stay in the trailer long, just mostly to sleep and get ready for the day. Everything was comfortable. Our kids really enjoyed the bunk bed setup. The gated property was nice and quiet. The road noise from outside didn’t seem to bother us at all. When there was an issue, it was taken care of promptly.

The address I was provided with through Expedia was wrong, but got me sorta close. I eventually found the owner's phone number on one of the Expedia pages and called to him to get the right address. Thankfully he was able to answer the phone when I called. He said the confusion was due to street names having been changed. Anyway, you might want to call ahead of time and make sure you get the correct street name. The RV is great for those who are open to non-standard lodgings. It seemed very safe, there's a sweet dog on site and some chickens so make sure you always close the gate. If you need het, make sure the floor vents are open. The owner is very nice!

Nice place to stay

We had a good time staying at Jim's place, the communication was really great with the host, we had a small issue and the host responded really quickly and resolved the issue, the RV was clean and had everything we need, only small thing was the wifi which is not the best and cuts a lot, also keep in mind the property is close to a road but it was ok for us no issue there.

Some more communications would be helpful, such as in a FAQ format. How long propane lasts and what to do when it is empty. Written reminder near door to keep closing gate immediately after entry/ exit. Potentially adding note with advice on food left in freezer or fridge. What to do with waste and recycling. Conservation efforts for those interested in saving natural resources. Tips for best use of heating and cooling. Availability of hammock and picnic table. Nearest washer/dryer if needed (or clothesline use…?). Ear plugs for reduction of street noise, especially at night

COTA convenient

The camper was just fine for a place to sleep. We had no complaints, but we didn't spend much time there. We would have a quick breakfast and leave.

Austin Getaway

Check in was a breeze! The RV was perfect for my husband and I and was as advertised. The surround sound inside is amazing. It is in a great location and close to nearby shops and restaurants. It is also only a 20 minute drive to COTA. Communication with the host was easy and he was very responsive. Thank you for hosting us, Jim! Will definitely stay again!

Excellent stay

I needed a place to stay for a few days while doing some pretty intense work. This property is private, but not too remote. Great options for food, a large store, and several convenience stores within a few minutes drive. Jim was a great host, and the property was in really great shape. No issues with cell service or internet connection! Would definitely recommend.

Enjoyed our stay and Jim is a very attentive host. The 2 hens were entertaining!

We came to Austin from Kentucky to visit family and were lucky to find this property was less than 7 minutes away. We have our own camper, so it was very familiar staying in this one. The bed is super comfortable, the a/c was great and the camper is stocked with basics that you might need during your stay. The drawbacks - intermittent TV signal, wifi didn’t have a strong signal, at noise from traffic nearby at night & the camper is older than it appears in photos. Overall, we would stay here again. The privacy was enjoyable and the 2 hens were cute!

We had a great stay in the RV. It was close to the city with the country feel. I enjoyed having my morning coffee outside under the shade of the trees. It was comfortable with all the essentials and Jim was available when we need anything. Would definitely stay there again. Thanks for everything Jim.

Lovely RV with great air con

Jim met us at the gate (our taxi driver had no idea where he was!!) and welcomed us to Austin, then let us be but was available if we needed anything. The rv had everything we needed for the week, especially the air con unit. Also if you're a person who takes the bus like we did (we're from the UK and didn't fancy driving on the other side!) The rv is only 5 minutes from a bus stop. we loved meeting Laverne and Joyce the free range chickens who would greet us in the morning. Thank you Jim

Cool Camper, Private Spot

Overall, great stay, the spot is out of the hustle & bustle of the city, but still a quick drive to downtown. The host, Jim, is excellent. Note: This is a camper! If you didn’t understand from the photos, it’s an experience like sleeping in an RV! It’s a fun cool way to have privacy and autonomy during your stay. Couple things to note: 1) The property is secured by a good old fashioned farm style gate with a manual latch. This is super neat and made me feel safe having my Jeep, trailer, and motorcycle during the stay, but it did mean having to hop on/off my bike (or in/out of the Jeep) to open and close the gate every time I left or returned. 2) Host has dogs & chickens. All animals were friendly enough, although a chicken startled the heck out of me one morning when I was reading at the picnic table and it hopped up beside me lol. 3) The wi-fi is serviceable but not strong enough to do video calls on. I worked a few days during my stay and opted to go to coffee shops for meetings where stronger internet was critical. I don’t think those are negatives, I only note them as information so future visitors can plan accordingly. Overall the trip was a breeze, and the stay was trouble-free. I have already recommended this property to friends traveling to Austin in the future.

A Great Alternative to Hotels

The property was perfect for my overnight stay and secure parking needs. The accommodations were as advertised and the host was quick to respond. I will look to stay here again when the next event brings me to the area.

Native Austinite and still think it's a pretty cool place to live even though it's changed dramatically over my lifetime here. Former boat owner, water-skier, & fisherman. I enjoy bowling but am better at the Wii variety than the real thing. I too live on the property in the main house with 1 other person , 2 chickens, & 3 overly friendly canines that stay indoors for the most part. There's plenty of room, though as the grounds encompass 1.5 acres with few neighbors in sight. I'm a dedicated bachelor and share a home with man's best friends (canine) that graciously allow us to stay with them. Since I live onsite, I am very accessible if their should be any questions or issues that arise, that said, I will not bother you and respect your right to privacy completely, and will be there only if needed. I love the open space out here! Thanks for reading. If you have questions, I'm very approachable and more than happy to help!

In this day & age where homes are seemingly practically built on top of one another, I fell in love with this property's acreage, and huge yard and trees. Also, we have for neighbors, just a small Church across the street, all while being close to everything South Austin has to offer.I'm sure you'll also love coming home to the open grassy setting after your days adventures are done.
