Oy. OK. I'm sending this to myself, too, so I don't lose it, but if you
have another listing on another site, post this, or let me know how to do
it. I don't mean to be a pain, but I know these are important.
This home was even more lovely than it appeared in the photos. We were a
party of 5 adults, and there was plenty of room to spread out. Open floor
plan on the main floor, so the chef was never isolated. The owners had
everything ready for us, we had easy access, and the owner family clearly
cares about every detail in the home. It is very well-appointed, close to
everything, and the view is more spectacular than the photos. It's an
easy, short walk to the beach. As someone else mentioned, there's a little
bit of a drop-off (only a few feet) down from the trail to the sand, but
there's a post there to help you, and we easily carried folding chairs down
to the water. We'd never seen so many sand dollars (early morning tide),
and when we were there, the by-the-wind sailors were washing ashore (the do
not sting people). In town, don't miss the aquarium -- they take
reservations, so call them. The fudge at Granny Hazel's is crazy good. I
don't think you can go wrong with a fishing charter in the area; we fished
with/caught our limit with Westport Charters (aboard the Predator with
Captain Derek and Mate Dylan). The Westport Winery is a little bit of a
drive, but worth a visit, too; they have great wine and extensive gardens.
Be sure to grab breakfast at the Blue Buoy (seriously, don't miss it), and
don't miss Blackbeard's Brewing Company, if you're so inclined. Thank you
to the owners. We did not want to leave.
THANKS PORTER
