Bad Customer Service
-First interaction. Owner was noticeably agitated. First thing he said wasn’t “Hello, welcome to my cabin”, instead he rudely questioned how many people we had. Assured him we had the 22 people previously discussed.
-Questioned the amount of cars, telling me to park on the main road even though there’s no public parking. The cars were neatly parked, out of the way of other guests in what looked to be assigned parking areas.
-Accused us of parking on his bushes. I was shocked that any of my guests would do that and asked him to please show me – at which point he said “well, they’re not on my bushes but they’re close”.
-Demanded that we better not be loud. Assured him we would be quite, however there are 22 of us - we’re here to have fun, but we don’t want to disturb anybody else. Did my best to relate with him that since it’s a big cabin, on the lake that sleeps 22 people I’m sure he’s had rude guests and we would never damage his home or purposely interfere with other guests.
-Instructions state the air conditioner not be turned on. The home was hot since it was 90+ degrees that weekend.
-Later same evening. Burst through the front door – entering without permission, fuming that we were loud & all the windows were open.
-Yelled at me that I moved his coffee table (the living room is small – we moved it to make room for guests).
-He was angry, raising his voice and not willing to talk. I apologized for our noise (which I promise you wasn’t horribly loud). We turned off the music for the remainder of the evening and did our best to lower our voices (keep in mind this cabin sleeps 22 people - 4th of July - I’m not sure what he was expecting - but trust me we were trying to be respectful). Apologized he had to come tell us to be quiet but tried to tell him if he would of simply came and asked respectfully (without yelling or anger) for us to turn down the music we would have happily obliged.
-While trying to calm the Owner down he repeatedly told me to “go have another cocktail” being very demeaning and rude. Un-willing to have a calm conversation about how we don’t want to upset him.
-I’m extremely upset, I have so much anxiety still thinking about this weekend and my memories of my 30th birthday are now 100% tainted by these negative interactions.
