An amazing, eclectic, adorable hidden gem!
If your tastes run to unusual properties filled with nooks and crannies and dripping with mystery and history, yet filled with all the modern conveniences, look no further. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, and found myself wandering the property to get a second and third and fourth look at the ruins, the cave, the springs, the upper patio, and each of the four floors. Not recommended for children, but highly recommended for adventuresome adults!

A special, unique experience
We had a wonderful stay, it's such a unique property that we just kept walking around - checking out the rooms, the views, the features. We really enjoyed our stay. The hosts were helpful and accommodating. Kitchen is suitable for preparing extensive meals. Bedding, linens, beds were plush and comfortable. A couple of small things - it seems that this is a single property managed by family, so you might wait a day or two for responses. No big deal. It was a little chilly - there are space heaters and a big fireplace, but it did get a little chilly in the evening. And finally - the neighborhood is a bit intimidating / has a bad reputation. We had no problems at all, but were initially concerned. Bottom line - one of the most unique places I've spent a night - memories for the family and I for all time. Took some lovely photos on the grounds, and then there's the cavern / spring. SO. COOL. Really enjoyed it.

Fantastic Stay
The Castle was a great place for myself and three other colleagues during our Dreamforce conference. Jennifer was extremely responsive (even when we wanted some more firewood in the middle of the night) and the grounds are very impressive. This was a great experience for my team that we will never forget. Castle atmosphere with all the modern amenities. Highly recommmended!!

A magical place
If you are even thinking about renting the Castle, think no more. Do it! This place is amazing. The history alone is enough to make it fun, but then the property has been so well and tastefully updated. All of my guests arrived at the castle door with their mouths gaping because they could not believe where they were. What a special place. It's got ample room to host several people, and sleep a few people as well. The bedding was extremely comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. They even had firewood for the fireplace and back patio fire pit! Words and even pictures do not do this place justice. It's on beautiful old grounds, and the castle just keeps going up and up the hill. And on top of all of that, there are amazing views of the bay! I rented the place in September, which is absolutely my most favorite month for weather in SF, but I would imagine it would also be one of the last places in SF to get fog in the summer too. If that all still doesn't sell you, the property manager, Jennifer, is very responsive and super nice. And her father makes a good wine to boot! ;) In summary, I had an amazingly wonderful time and only wish I could have stayed more than just one night.

We had an amazing night here, I've lived in SF my whole life and I had no idea there was a castle. One of a kind experience, very fun to stay in a SF landmark!

Magical gem in San Francisco
Our stay at the castle was hands down amazing! I was sourced with the task to find the a venue for my company (Goorin Bros) product review / team meeting and really did not want a stuffy meeting room, so when I stumbled upon a historic castle in San Francisco I knew we found the perfect space! The thick brick walls, wood detailing, beautiful gardens, and impeccable decor the team was inspired from the second they walked through the gates leading to Goorin's most successful creative meetings on the books. Enough about us... Jennifer was very accommodating and had great communication from beginning and you can tell she takes very good care of the house and property. The neighborhood is not the safest/ most convenient for nearby accommodation but once we got inside the gates, we felt very comfortable and protected. I imagine like us, the people who stay there will again return. There’s really nothing like it.

An incredible property with tons of California charm!
Albion castle was the location for our film shoot and Jennifer and her family were incredible. They got us moved in and helped walk us around the property. There are so many rooms and spaces available for filming. The entire building is wrapped with gardens! It feels like you step back in time when you walk through the gates. Great place for a stay in SF or a film shoot. Don't be afraid of the neighborhood. Once you get in the gates no one is going to mess with your castle!

We stayed in a castle!
We were fortunate to be the first VRBO patrons of this property. Nat met us at the property for a tour. The living room and kitchen were warm and inviting, bedrooms and bathrooms had luxury linens. The Owners stocked the frig with a few bottles of wine and beer. We loved the views from the tower and patio. It was incredible to be part of the history of the castle and we will stay here again!
