About this property

A peaceful ocean inspired oasis nestled in the Bournda National Park.

Welcome to Bournda Wave House, a delightful three story timber home. You are surrounded by national park here, yet only an 8 minute drive from the cafes, shopping and surf beaches of Merimbula and a 15 minute drive from laid back Tathra. From the house, take a 15 minute walk through national park to Bournda Island and Bournda Lagoon, where secluded beaches, native wildlife and tranquility are in abundance. Perfect for a romantic couples getaway, or bring the whole family.

Relax at home in your 3 story timber 'wave' house. The stunning master bedroom is at the top of the house, in the treetops. Relax in the bath whilst enjoying forest and ocean views, then sit on your private balcony to watch the moon rise. Sleep with a view of the stars and wake up to the morning sun rising over the ocean. Cook up a storm in the well equipped kitchen, relax by the open fire in the lounge room and watch a movie, or roast marshmallows over the fire pit outside on the main deck. Let the kids loose to play outside on the Vuly monkey bar play set, trampoline and sandpit.
Take a short walk through the adjoining national park tea tree, banksia and eucalypt forest to pristine Bournda Island, have a swim in either the lagoon or ocean, kick back and breath in the serenity.

The large vege garden and orchard experiences varying levels of abundance throughout the year. Asparagus is delicious and can often be picked daily coming into spring, there may be fresh veges and herbs, and plenty of raspberries in the summer time. If you’re lucky enough to be here when the plums ripen then you’re in for a treat!

The ‘neighbours’ include resident families of wallabies and kangaroos, wombats, goannas, echidnas and birds in abundance. The next property, 400m away, is out of sight and has friendly and helpful owners.

Bournda Wave House is on a bush block about 1.5km from the main road. This road is dirt and can get a little bumpy at times. The last section (our driveway) is quite worse for ware, so expect to drive slowly. It is still accessible in a two wheel drive. There is carport parking for two vehicles at the house.

We are available via phone, message or email any time during your stay.

Spring at the Wave House in Bournda
The house is a delight, with its unique use of timber and glass fittings in the shape of a wave, which overlooks Bournda National Park and the Pacific Ocean. Verandas let you view it from outside as well as inside. The beds and living areas are just fantastic (no curtains to block the view or the early morning sun). It is very secluded with no visible neighbours, other than the flora and fauna. It is along a gravel road close to the southern entry to Bournda National Park, yet only 8 kilometres from Merimbula and 4 km from Tura Beach. Plenty to do with walks and swimming as well as being in easy distance to town or other places on the coast. Patricia was a great host and even had a new toaster delivered to the door when I asked about whether there was one. Highly recommended.

A beautiful house in a beautiful setting
The Wave House is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beautiful bush around you. It has amazing views from every room of the house and we particularly enjoyed our morning view from our bedroom at the start of the day and our evening view from the bath at the end of the day. The house is well equipped and has everything you need. It's a quick drive into Merimbula to spend days on the lovely beaches or a 15 min walk straight from the house to Bournda Lagoon. Great ways to spend your days. Many thanks Patricia and Jed for sharing your wonderful home with us. Jim, Lona, Freddie, Anna & Megan

Beautiful house in the bush with ocean views
We had a perfect week in the Wave House eating outside on the huge deck, picking rasberries from the garden, walking to the incredible beach for a swim, spotting wildlife (not hard - it's all around you), and enjoying the peace of the bush. You feel like you're miles from anywhere yet it's only 5 minutes drive to a supermarket. The house is spectacular with great light and space, and cleverly designed. You can even see the ocean in the distance from the bath. The creek walk from the house to the lagoon is well worth doing. We'd intended to explore the region but loved the house so much we didn't really leave all week. Great hosts too - Patricia and Ged are very responsive and helpful.

A beautiful and well equipped property - can't wait to return!
We had such a lovely stay at the Bournda Wave House! It is set on a gorgeous, private and quiet bush block which backs onto the national park. We had plenty of space to wander and explore and were entertained with watching wallabies, birds, and a family of ducks from the expansive decks. The closest beach is only a five minute drive away, as is a great little shopping centre which includes a decent size Woolworths. Merimbula, Tathra and Pambula and their lovely beaches are not much further. The house itself is a real sight - incredible architecture, beautiful fixtures and fittings, and an overall relaxing setting. The kitchen, laundry, etc are all really well equipped and we needed for nothing. The booking and arrivals processes were seamless and Patricia was responsive to any queries leading up to and during our stay. The fact that we could enjoy it all along with our doggie member of the family just made it all the better. Can't recommend the place highly enough. We will be back!
