It was adequate for our stay. It didn’t feel the cleanest, but I’m a very clean person. The entertainment center didn’t work. Shower worked well. It was quiet and peaceful.
This is the 5th year staying at this property and, as always, it was fantastic! The cabin is everything we've ever wanted for a quiet, relaxing holiday. The property owners are really, really good people who are always communicative and helpful, when needed, without ever being overbearing. We love it here and know you will too!
We enjoyed the tranquility and isolation at Timberon. The amenities were more than adequate. Our mini Schnauzer made good use of the doggy door and dog run. Seating was good and the large screen television provided entertainment. A landline provided access since cell service was inconsistent.

I was looking for a location that wasn't as closely packed as they are in Cloudcroft. If your looking for a secluded one this is it. Do heed the owners directions as I tried a shortcut that is very slow & rocky. Bring all your food, drinks & snacks before arriving! Bring laundry detergent as you are expected to wash your bedding before departure. Didn’t look like much time was spent for cleaning.
It was a very cute cabin. The road was rough getting there but thankfully we were in a truck with 4WD. It does take a while to get to Cloudcroft from Timberon due to the speed limit and winding roads. Beautiful country to see.
Matt & Bianca are awesome, awesome hosts. This is the 4th straight year we've spent time at the cabin and every year it gets a little better. They continue to make improvements to the property, but without changing the "vibe" of the place - which we're very, very grateful for. Highly, highly recommended!
This is our second year at this special place. Comfortable inside and out. It's only my husband and I but the back deck would be wonderful for a group of close friends or family. A quick call to the owners and batteries for the remote arrived within 30 minutes.
Timberon is a very small town but it does offer some home cooking and a place for essentials you may have forgotten.
We highly recommend staying here and will be back next year for our 2 week escape from the Texas heat.

Great location.
GREAT location - peaceful.
Property could have been cleaner. Ceiling fans were FILTHY - afraid to use them due to amount of dirt. Bedspread was stained. Reluctant to sit on furniture. Luckily, we brought our own blankets. Rug in living room was NASTY! Floors had not been moped in A LONG time, if ever. Rules at check advising against "making too much work" for housekeeper. Not sure what that means.
Loved the stay. You walk in and feel comfortable. So enjoyed the time, and weather was nice. Excellent break from our Texas heat. A plus that our pup could come. Enjoyed sitting out back, brought corn and seed for the deer and birds.
Great place to get away, enjoy nature and the family, and to disconnect from the grid. Lovely cabin with adequate space for out family of four, well equipped with kitchen supplies, family room, bedrooms, and outdoor area to be around the fire pit or cook on the grill. Animals come by and lovely birds of all kinds swoop in. Loved it!
We spent an enjoyable week at the cabin. It is private and a great way to get away from it all. There are several hikes 20 mins up the road to Cloudcroft. The cabin is spacious and comfortable for the two of us and our dog.
Bianca gives you directions that keep you on pavement nearly the entire way to the cabin. We have a 4x4 truck and tried both her directions and the Google dirt road shortcut through Timberon. Bianca's route was both faster and more comfortable.
There are a few hummingbird feeders at the cabin. Bring some basic white sugar to make some nectar and fill the feeders!
It's feels contradictory to leave good reviews because, selfishly, I want to keep this gem to myself. But, as a 3-time renter of the cabin, I can tell you that Matt and Bianca deserve all the renters that they can get.
The place is incredible. If you're looking for a getaway, you won't find a better place.
If you want a quiet & comfortable place to spend time, this is it! 12 days of heaven! The patio with ample cushions was great for morning coffee and the acreage out back gave the pups room to sniff and explore. We had everything we needed. As stated, get your groceries before arriving. (Although there is a little basic necessities place in Timberon where we snagged detergent).
And there were a couple good hikes within 15 minutes, so I didn't have to make a full day of it.
Ryan and Bianca were prompt in returning our call when we had a question. We are looking forward to returning.
Return customer at this property. Lots of privacy. Might hear a vehicle, but never see people. Sitting in the sun room you will see lots of mule deer & other wildlife. Very comfortable.
This was exactly what we wanted and we got exactly what they showed us. Only detractors were #1 the dirt road in. Do not drive a sedan here. Rent a truck. #2 Bring food. Once you get there you aren't going to want to leave out and go back down the dirt road to get food so bring plenty of food and drinks with you. #3 The Wifi. Sure you're not there for that but just a heads up the cell service is non-existent for any carrier and Wifi is ultra spotty at best. Other than that the cabin was clean and beautiful and just what we wanted.
So happy to have found this cabin. We stayed a week for a seminar.
The seminar lasted all day every day, so all we used was the bed and the bathroom.
Bed was comfortable and the location was great.
Bianca was quick with responses and easy to communicate with.
If we are in the area again, I would seek out this cabin.
My husband and I spent 4 nights in this beautiful mountain cabin. Everything was as advertised. We were out of propane and the property manager was prompt in filling the tank. There were swarms of beautiful hummingbirds, which we enjoyed watching and were visited daily by deer and fawn. Our dog also had a good time enjoying the new smells and spending so much time with us outdoors. We would definately come back to this wonderful cabin.
We needed a weekend mountain getaway and this was just the place. It was completely stocked with everything that we needed. We brought our pups and I really liked the kennel area for them to enjoy being outside with us. We will definitely rent this cabin again.
