Escape to “Sandy Thongs”, a beautiful, completely updated, beachfront condo with a fresh new look. Our building is being upgraded with new paint colors and other upgrades making it one of the most desirable accommodations on Okaloosa Island.

The cool, sugary white sand, aqua blue Gulf views and first floor access, makes this one of the best two-bedroom properties on the beach. Just step off the patio and you are there. Okaloosa Island is one of the most beautiful and best kept secrets in the world. You're just minutes to the best restaurants, shopping and attractions.

Wake up every morning and watch the beautiful sunrise peeking up over the Okaloosa Pier and end each day with the most amazing sunsets you will ever experience. If you enjoy a more secluded, less crowded beach where you can enjoy the full untamed beauty and sounds of the Gulf, step into our world of enchantment when you stay at “Sandy Thongs”.

“Sandy Thongs” has been completely remodeled and the Surf Dweller complex will have new colors this year. The building has been completely updated and looks better than ever. This 1453 SQ. Ft. Condo is one of the largest on Okaloosa Island and sleeps eight (8). There are two large bedrooms, with one king, two queen sized beds. In the living room there is a sectional sofa large enough to sleep two. There are two full baths with walk-in showers, fully equipped kitchen with granite counters and everything you need to cook or grill the best of meals.

There is a utility room off the kitchen, with full-sized washer and dryer. The unit is located on the ground floor... that's right, no more waiting for elevators or dealing with luggage carts. Pull up to the front door and you're there.

Experience breathtaking views from the moment you walk inside the front door. When you're ready to enjoy this astounding beach, just step off the extra-large patio onto the sand and just a few more steps over the dune's bridge and you're ready to experience this exhilarating island. There is ample seating on the patio so the whole family can enjoy the amazing views.

Evenings are exceptional at “Sandy Thongs” because unlike so many other complexes with roads you have to cross or pools you have to walk through to get to the beach, there is nothing to obscure your access or view of the beach. Surf Dweller's heated swimming pool, kiddy pool, gym and tennis court are located in the front of the complex, which allows guest to enjoy private, quiet evenings on the patio where the stars are amazing, and the sounds of the gulf will mesmerize you and capture your heart forever.

“Sandy Thongs” is located within minutes of anything you could possibly want to experience during your visit. The Boardwalk, Okaloosa Island Pier, Gulfarium, Pleasure Island Water Park, and Beasley Park are a must see. Also, if you want to spend the day in the bay or at Crab Island between Fort Walton Beach and Destin, boat and jet ski rentals are less than a mile away.

There are many great restaurants within a few minutes of “Sandy Thongs”. The convenience of shopping for groceries, or other items are also just minutes away in Fort Walton Beach.

When you book “Sandy Thongs” free beach service is provided between March 1 - October 31st and includes two beach chairs and one umbrella each day. Also, we provide additional beach chairs and one umbrella that is kept inside the condo. We also provide beach towels and a few beach toys. There is an assortment of games, adult and children's books for everyone to enjoy.

“Sandy Thongs” is a non-smoking unit. Smoking is allowed on the patio. Must be 25 years old to book this listing. No pets of any kind are allowed.

Family vacation

It’s all in the details!!

What a great stay at Sandy Thongs! Great location with an easy first floor walk out to the beach and less then a mile to anything you might need. The beauty was in the details- high end touches - furniture, beds, patio furniture- area to hose off on the patio. Things like a California king bed for a tall family and a spare room with larger then twin beds - again - tall family. Rooms are very spacious. Finishes are well thought out and the kitchen is fully operational. Extra beach chairs and beach towels, toys and even sippy cups for the littlest vacationer. Starter items like coffee filters and TP and paper towels and a few snacks - these details really made the difference. We would absolutely recommend and stay again! Thank you Rhonda and family!!

BY far our best beach experience yet! Beautiful condo with beautiful views. Super clean and stocked with everything we needed in the kitchen to cook as far as great dishes and appliances. Wonderful property manager, very responsive. Will definitely book here again!

Low key & loving it

This was our first time to stay in Fort Walton & we loved it. The beach wasn’t as crowded as some other places which was nice. The condo had everything we needed & was decorated nicely. Being on the 1st floor was great, especially when you forgot something on the beach and had to go back. Property managers were great and always responded quickly. Would definitely recommend.

Furtick family vacation

Everything was as described. The location is perfect. If you want a busy beach then you should go to Destin because the traffic here is low and just what we wanted with toddlers. This was perfect for my little family. The owner was prompt and courteous with her responses. We never wanted for anything. The condo has everything you'll need and more! AWESOME PLACE/AMAZING TIMES!

WE LOVED THIS PLACE! Our family of 5 rented the condo from May 23rd-27th. What a gem of a place! First level, your own entrance so you’re not sharing an elevator/respecting social distancing. We used the pool when it was too dark to swim in the ocean and when the red/purple flag was out to not swim. I read ALL the reviews before making the reservation. What sealed the decision was the location, BEACH ACCESS-not crowed at all, surrounding activities available(we snorkeled, parasailed and visited the Air Force Armament Museum-so much fun!) Everything in the descriptions were accurate. All we needed was groceries for 3 teenagers. 😊 Ronda reached out to me, welcomed us and sent helpful info about the condo/area. She left contact info in case we needed her or anything, which we didn’t. The condo was just right for us, the beach was the main reason I booked it. We will definitely come back(I told my husband we need to come back for our own R&R, WITHOUT the kids(12 yo, 13 yo and 16yo 🙂). I HIGHLY recommend this condo! Thank you, Ronda, hope to return to your condo sooner then later! 🥰

We were VERY impressed with this condo! It was beautifully decorated with a wonderful view of the ocean and it had everything we could possibly need. It was truly our home away from home. It was a great experience. From the pics, I thought that it was a walk straight onto the beach, but there are sand dunes that block your view, but the privacy was actually quite nice and only a very short walk to the walkway. Definitely would stay there again.

Little piece of paradise

This was the nicest, cleanest, neatest little condo. It has everything you need and a little more. The description the owners give, is exactly what it is. We are in love with this place. The condo, the beach, and the area. It is quiet and absolutely beautiful. We are already talking about making plans for next summer. The pictures you view on VRBO are exactly what you see when you get there. Easy access to the beach. Everything from the condo to the beach is so clean. Plus there are extras in the condo for the beach. It’s just a great little get away. We LOVED IT!!

Wonderful condo!

The condo was as described. It was clean, well appointed, and the view was great. The kitchen was well stocked with anything you need! There was good water pressure in the shower (important to me). It was easy to get in touch with Ronda and she was always nice. There were games for the kids, books, beach towels, and lots of beach toys! We loved our stay!

This property had everything you could want for a beach front getaway. Beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. BREATHTAKING - BEST VACATION EVER!!

This was our 1st time using VRBO and we were a little nervous about what we would find when upon our arrival but those nerves were quickly put to rest when we walked into "ile enchantee". The condo was very clean and decorated beautifully. The location of the condo was hands down the BEST on the beach. Being on the ground floor was so convenient and made for the quickest access to the beach that we have ever experienced. Not having to wait on the elevator gave us more beach time and being just steps from the sand was priceless. We love Destin and were a l little hesitant about making the change to Okaloosa Island but after this vacation we will definitely be back! The beach was truly breathtaking and the sunsets were heavenly. Ronda was amazing and made sure we had everything we could possibly need. She even had beach towels and all the beach toys you could dream of. We are counting down the days until we can get back to this condo and one of the most beautiful beaches in the world!!!

This place is perfect!

This condo was absolutely beautiful! It had everything you needed for your stay and the owners were very friendly. The decor was all new and up to date. The view from the patio was breathtaking. You walk out and are literally on the sand and the boardwalk to go to the beach is just steps away. My family and I will definitely be returning! Thank you for a wonderful and memorable stay!

Why they chose this property

We welcome you to explore “Sandy Thongs” and compare our amenities to others before booking your vacation. When we purchased this property in April 2018, my sister, husband and I were looking to buy in Destin because we loved the areas beautiful blue water and sugary white sand. We have traveled to many beautiful beaches around the world and while each holds a special place in our hearts and have their own unique beauty, we kept coming back to the Destin area. When we made our decision to purchase a family vacation home in Florida, we knew we wanted to be in Destin around the Miramar Beach area because it was more secluded and less crowded. While looking for properties on the internet, I stumbled upon this Fort Walton Beach property. We had not been to Fort Walton Beach and knew nothing about the area. I was drawn to this property for some reason and when we finally got to see it, we saw the potential as soon as we walked in the door. The view of the beach was amazing and once we stepped out the back door and saw it for the first time, we were breathless! Okaloosa Island had everything we were looking for and more, a secluded location, less crowds and is one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever experienced. We are all excited to share our amazing find with you, your family and friends.

What makes this property unique

We want our guest to enjoy their vacation and not have to go out and buy items like beach toys and beach towels just to have to throw them away when you leave. We provide some beach toys, beach towels, an extra umbrella and beach chairs as well as the two chairs and umbrella the beach service provides between March 1 and October 31 each year. We also have an assortment of games, adult and children's books and many more amenities to make for a memorable experience.

No elevators, stairs or carts needed here! You pull up to the front door and unload. When you are ready to experience the beach, step off the patio and you are there.

Each end of Okaloosa Island is occupied by the Airforce. Air restrictions are enforced, so each building on the island has a seven-story height restriction. Therefore, the beach is rarely crowded like Destin's beaches. You still can enjoy Destin's restaurants, shopping and attractions because we are only seven miles west of Destin.
