About this property

Loose Moose Lodge - Lakes of the North

The loose moose lodge was our family vacation home since 2017! This is a pet free rental (we have allergies in our family.)It is a bi-level chalet style cabin. It has living quarters on the main level, and sleeping quarters downstairs. It has a wood burning stove that'll heat you outta there. (This makes it not suitable for young children) We love it and hope you and your family will as much as we do!

There is a SHOWER ONLY. No Bathtub.

Our Fall-Winter-Spring rates are more due to electric baseboard heat, as well as supplying wood for the wood burner.

Please be advised - we do have a security camera on the outside of the cabin. This is just so we can keep an eye on our place when it is not rented, and we are not using it.

Follow us on facebook @CCCLooseMooseLodge
Feel free to post some pictures - we'd love to see you all enjoying the cabin!

Amazon Firestick with Amazon Prime, and many other options. Feel free to login to your own accounts and just remember to log out when leaving.

Lots of board games - card games - Outdoor activities

If you would like access to the indoor pool with lazy river, water slide, and fitness center, you will need to let us know at time of reservation please!! (There will be a small fee you will have to pay at the clubhouse.)

There are 2 lakes within lakes of the north for summer fun! They have boat rentals (not motor boats) - paddle boats - paddle boards, ect (additional cost). These are electric motor only lakes. They have boat launches at both lakes if you want to bring up your own boat. Very nice Golf Course and Restaurant within lakes of the north! They have play sets throughout the community for the kids! Tennis courts/Pickelball and basketball courts! Bring your ATV's and make some great memories! Torch Lake is only a 45 Minute drive, and the mackinaw bridge is 1 hour away!

Our cabin is nice and secluded within Lakes of the North community. The main snowmobile trails run right through lakes of the north. There is a winter sports arena that has cross-country skiing trails, as well as an ice skating rink. They have ski rentals available, as well as ice skate rentals. (These are rentals - so an additional cost - I don't think they are expensive, however.) Also, Boyne mountain is not too far away with downhill skiing!

Cute cabin tucked in woods
This adorable cottage has everything you need for a fun family getaway! More than adequate space for sleeping and lounging! We took our corn-hole and other yard games for outside. Holly has board games and movies available for rainy days. Adorable decor and very clean! Would recommend.

Cute and peaceful cabin!
We had a great time staying at this cabin. Whenever we arrived we loved how cute it looked from the outside and it was just as nice on the inside. Exceeded our expectations. It was a nice little place to come back and relax after we went and adventured around the lakes and different areas. Holly was very friendly and let me know to call if we needed any help. We didn’t get a chance to check out the pool area but it looked nice, but we got to enjoy s’mores out by the fire though. My daughter enjoyed the moose decor. Altogether it was a great getaway. Will definitely come back if we get the chance!

Quaint little cabin!
We would stay again if the opportunity presented itself. Our only issue is we were pulling a 21' boat and though the cabin does have a circle drive, the amount of trees made for a lot of finagling to get it turned around without hitting anything. Other than that we had a great stay!

Cozy cottage in the woods with plenty of space for the whole family
Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay! We were celebrating two birthdays and wanted a place to relax, ride horses, and kayak. Holly's place worked well for us. All 3 of our kids enjoyed spending time at Harold Lake each day - fun for both the elementary age as well as middle school and high school (we've got all 3 ages). We enjoyed an evening at the indoor pool as well (especially the slide). Stables enabled us to arrange a horseback ride. The cabin kitchen is stocked with plenty of extras, but still come prepared with groceries since there isn't much grocery shopping nearby (Holly fully warned us of this). Plenty of games and movies for the whole family (and we brought a bunch of our own). Keep in mind there is no dishwasher, so follow Holly's directions and bring paper plates/plasticware. We fought over who got to sit on the super comfy lodge couch in the living room. We also enjoyed sitting on the deck and reading. Very relaxing.

Loved it!
Great place to get away! So much to do around the cabin and in northern Michigan! Our son loved the pool in the community building we had access to! We didn't get to enjoy the 2 beaches in the community but would make time for them if we were to return! Holly was very helpful and quick to respond with any questions! We would definatly recommend this property!

Our family loves to travel and enjoy the outdoors! We are looking forward to others enjoying our cabin as much as we do!!

Why they chose this property

We chose this property because of all the amazing amenities in lakes of the north. It is snowmobile, Golf Cart and ORV friendly, which are all things we enjoy doing. You have lots of amenities, but feel like you are secluded! Our cabin is on a cul de sac which is perfect for the kids to ride bikes.

What makes this property unique

Indoor swimming pool with water slide, lazy river, and hot tub. The clubhouse also has a general room with fireplace and a fitness room. 2 Lakes - Harold lake is crystal clear - bring your fishing poles and snorkeling gear. Pencil Lake is a great lake for fishing!

Ice Skating Rink in the winter as well as a sledding hill!
