Sweet Retreat - Close to the beach! Sleeps 12 comfortably

Sweet Retreat -
Our “Sweet Retreat” has been lovingly renovated to create the perfect getaway for you and whomever has the privilege of escaping with you. We are located 9 houses from the beach where you’ll find calm, quiet waters making it a great locale for your little ones and peaceful sunset walk on the beach. Your time at the beach can be followed by a walk through Cape Charles’ charming downtown (for dinner, purchasing your vacation souvenir and a stop for a treat at the candy store).
Our home boasts 3600 sq. feet of space for you and your group to spread out and take a break in between beach trips, bike rides and tasty cuisine. The main floor has two living areas, a large dining room and fully equipped kitchen for your group meals, ½ bath, laundry room and small game room w/a foosball table . On the 2nd floor of the main house there are 3 bedrooms (2 King and 1 Queen - all brand new) each with their own bathroom. The 3rd floor is perfect sleepover set up for all of the kids. In the back section of the house on the 2nd floor there are two bedrooms (1 Queen and 1 Full Size Bunkbed) and a shared full bathroom. A new outdoor shower was added this spring(2019). Beach chairs and umbrellas are provided. (8 chairs & 2 umbrellas)

***The Sweet Retreat is for sale. However, when the time comes, we will write it into the contract that the new owner is required to honor all existing reservations even after the closing date.

A great family getaway!
We had 3 generations under 1 roof for Thanksgiving and this house held us all beautifully! It's in a fantastic location to the shops and the beach. The new dual oven is very nice to cook in and lots of counterspace. The owners were very nice and even offered us an early checkin.

Christmas get away
We enjoyed the town, location of home and family time. Thank you for allowing us to stay. The big dining room table was perfect for us. Having two living rooms also worked well for our family. Every room having their own ac/heat was a wonderful addition to meeting our needs. Cape Charles is surely a place to come back and visit!

Sweet Retreat is Sweet!
House was perfect for our three family vaca. Ages ranging from 72 to 22 months. Very well stocked, even with things we aren't used to seeing in a rental! Beds were comfy, rooms were great size and the extra fridge came in handy. Would recommend this house to everyone! We love Cape Charles and loved staying at Sweet Retreat!

We loved the beautiful, old house with all of the necessary modern conveniences. Plenty of space for multi family, multi generation comfort. Evenings on the front porch were magical and we loved being able to walk to the beach. Perfect vacation ♥️

Perfect Family Vacation
We had a wonderful vacation. The house was perfect for our 3 families. We had 5 kids ages 1-5 and the house had everything we needed. It was a very short walk to the beach, and a short walk to the Main Street and playground. The house was clean when we arrived and the hosts were quick to respond for any of our questions. We would definitely stay here again if we had the opportunity!

We loved our stay at this house - the new addition of the dormitory for the kids was perfect. We had 4 families and 3 kids staying in the house and never felt cramped. The house is well stocked with a brand new grill, new cornhole set and new HVAC system. Beds were all comfortable and the place had everything we needed! Can't wait to come back!

Great location, house and stay
Agree with others' comments on how nice it is that house has a back and front area so that if you're with a big group, you can still find time away in different pockets of house if needed. We were there with younger children so really loved the big front porch to hang out on as well as all the different games and books in the house. It's located on a nice quiet street and short walk to beach. The owners were incredibly kind and responsive with any questions that cropped up. Great, spacious and well kept home and we enjoyed every minute of this escape.

Great House for a Girls Weekend
What a beautiful home. We celebrated our 10th Anniversary Girls Weekend in Cape Charles and could not have picked a better house. It is walk-able to both the beach (2 blocks) and the main drag (4 blocks). The house is even better than the pictures. We had plenty of space for 9 ladies, the house was clean and well appointed. Check-in was super easy and we could even get in earlier than the set check-in time.Truly a fantastic weekend.

Perfect Family Vacation Home
This house was prefect for our mixed group of 3 nuclear families. The attic space has 3 twin beds with trundles, and it was perfect for our 5 little girls. There was more than enough space for the children to have their own space and the adults to have their own space. My friends rented this place last year, and they are renting it again later this summer. We would all definitely use this house again. Phillip, the owner was great! He is responsive and prompt. If you are lucky enough to get this house, do it!!!!!!

Perfect House for Our Group of 8 Ladies
Everyone loved the house. It is charming and in a wonderful area not far from the beach. We would come back! The only issues we had were minor. First, there is very little closet space that isn't locked. Second, the top (3rd floor) bedroom had flimsy mattresses. Because only 2 of us were up there, we doubled up the mattresses and it worked out fine. Additionally, there was no body wash or soap up there in that room. We'd say that room is best for children. There are 3 beds with trundles beneath them. But, again, these were minor issues, and we still give the house top ratings and would come back.

Perfect in every way!
The property is much nicer in person than the lovely online photos depict. It is very spacious with lots of common areas to socialize as well as places to hide away with a good book; including beautiful front porch, quiet back porch, back yard, plenty of parking, and all the amenities that you can think of. The kitchen is well equipped for preparing meals and snacks. There is a washer and dryer, gas grill, beach chairs and umbrellas, corn hole, etc. The only thing you need to bring is your beach towels. The home has a great outdoor shower in the back. It is super clean with great updates, wifi, games, books, and tasteful decor. Just a short walk to the beach, shopping, restaurants, etc. Great home for multiple families to spread out enjoy a vacation on the Eastern Shore. Four bedrooms on the upper floors in the front of the home, and two more accessible from the back of the house with a separate staircase. The owner is fantastic, communication was a breeze, easy check-in and check-out. You will not be disappointed with this home.

Great besties vacation
We had 7 adults and 4 children (ages 4 - 8), the house was perfect!! It’s such a cool old house. Everyone had their own bed and bathroom! This was our third year vacationing at Cape Charles and the first time we were out of the gated neighborhood. We rented golf carts and since we were so close to everything, it took no time to get to where we wanted to go, beach, play ground, brewery, ice cream, all the fun places. We did reach out to the owners once about extra blankets and cornhole bags, they responded really quickly and got us what we needed within a few hours. This was one of the few houses that had parking in the back off the alley, which was perfect, since we had 4 vehicles. The house has everything you need, except beach towels, don’t forget those like I did. LOL We did a lot of front porch sitting, set up the cornhole boards in the front yard, kids had fun playing on the foosball table, cooked lots of great meals in the kitchen and ate together in the huge dining room, played games and hung out in the comfy living rooms. I hope your group has as much fun as we did!!

Another Outstanding Stay at a Dail property in Cape Charles
This is our third stay with the Dail family at one of their Cape Charles properties. All stays have been rated 5 stars and this most recent stay was no different. We do not bother looking at other rentals as this owner is consistently in communication prior to the visit, always has a very clean house, and is easily accessible if needed during the stay. I have no negative comments and encourage you to rent one of the Dail properties. You will not be disappointed, they are top notch.

We loved it from the moment that we entered.
My husband and I were celebrating our 60th wedding anniversary. Your home allowed our entire family minus one grandchild to be together. The front porch was in constant use and the location gave everyone the freedom to do what they pleased. The week was almost perfect.
