Getaway

Just a perfect place to get away from the city, but still be close enough to go and enjoy all the city has to offer. If you're in the Santa Fe area, highly recommend!

Perfect Family Vacation Home

Spacious, airy, clean, has everything you might need for a family gathering. Slightly “remote”, but really not far up a dirt hill, about 3-4 short minutes. Was perfectly quiet, birds during the day, stars at night, Our family made great memories here and the host was exceptionally responsive, kind and helpful. We loved it, felt very comfortable and at home

First trip to Santa Fe

This is an amazing property to stay at. The location is extremely convenient for traveling into Santa Fe. The property is beyond beautiful and serene. Francis is a wonderful host and answered all of our questions. We are already trying decide when we will be returning to this stunning home.

Comfortable and clean

It was a beautiful property and had most everything I needed. The home felt a little on the cool side, but with lots of extra blankets around I was able to stay warm in bed and cozying up on the couch. :)

Luxe private Santa Fe getaway

If I could rate this property 6 stars I would! Our family was visiting Santa Fe for a friend’s wedding and we didn’t want to stay in the city. We wanted a semi remote place to gather. This property was a stunning oasis off the beaten path. It was impeccably furnished in a charming southwest style and we felt at home immediately. Any questions we had were answered, via VRBO, by the host within minutes. It was scrupulously clean! The outside areas were gorgeous with lovely landscaping. The “casita” (the guesthouse) was the perfect retreat for my husband and me while the rest of the family occupied the main house. We loved every minute of our stay here!

Not 5 Star

A five star property should be in perfect order upon check-in. The customer should not need to be responsible for finding issues after check-in. This property could easily be a five star rating if the following were taken care of before we checked in. The hot water to the shower in the main House took 20 to 30 minutes to warm up to use the shower. The drains in the master bathroom would not drain. The home needed a deep clean as there were many cobwebs and dust layers accumulated on surfaces. The furniture in the main house is quality furniture, but is in need of refurbishment. It was very uncomfortable to sit in because you had sink in due to lack of support. The host was very responsive and answered messages immediately. Again, this would be a five star property if the issues noted did not exist and we’re found after checking in. offering to send a plumber during our visit would’ve been an inconvenience to us and again would not be indicative of a five star property. We will not stay there again.

Ski Trip

The house was fantastic. Everything and more than we expected. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay with our family. We spent the day skiing at Ski Santa Fe then returned to spend the evening at the house. The location was relatively remote and very quiet. This would be a perfect place to stay during the summer and fall to use all of the outside amenities available at the property. Would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a vacation rental near Santa Fe.

Sunshine in the hills

Fantastic Property and Excellent Host

We absolutely loved our stay. We typically stay down near the Plaza but this time decided we wanted some peace and quiet. This property was perfect for that. It was about a 20 min drive into town which was not bad at all. We're actually trying to figure out our next return :) Thanks again for everything!

Relaxing Getaway

The property is just as described, up in the foothills which we loved. It was very quiet and the yard was beautiful to enjoy your morning coffee or evening wine. There are even trails off the back deck and we were able to take our dog for walks right from the house. Cafe Fina is just at the bottom of the hill and they have one of the best breakfasts in Santa Fe. We accidentally left a mixer at the house after check-out and Francis let us know right away and was helpful in coordinating our pick-up with the house cleaners and handyman to let us back in. Highly recommend this property if you are looking for a quiet retreat!

Peaceful elegance

This gorgeous home is tucked back so nicely it provided luscious peace and quiet. Fully equipped for anything you need. The ambiance was elegant yet the furnishings were welcoming and comfortable. A definite pearl for discerning travelers!

Repeat visit for repeat tranquility!

This was our second stay at the lovely Casa Apache! Francis was just as welcoming and easy to communicate with as our first stay, and the house/property were exactly as peaceful as we remembered! Landscapers on the grounds for a few hours one morning was a minor intrusion, but that’s what it take to keep such a gem so beautiful. Thanks for another great visit!

Beautiful home and area

I can't say enough about this property. 20 minutes from downtown SF by car. An oasis, quiet and off the beaten track with beautiful gardens and sitting areas. The kitchen was spacious and well stocked. It was the perfect location for us. Not far from Pecsos where there is great hiking and close enough to Santa Fe to enjoy restaurants, art and shopping. I highly reckoned and will return

Beautiful quiet retreat

The house and grounds are exactly as lovely as advertised. You feel like you are far from civilization, so quiet and such gorgeous views - but it just takes about 20 min to drive into central Santa Fe (and that's driving slowly on the gravel road). Good communication from the host. Had everything we needed to cook/grill. Our family of 6 adults loved it. One thing that was unexpected was that one bedroom in the main house has no door - only a curtain.

Secluded and quiet

This location was amazing for someone coming from a busy city life. It was so quiet and peaceful with nights darker than we have seen in a very long time, great for star gazing. The property was very comfortable and with the additional casita we were able to allow other family members to have their own private spaces. We would definitely recommend this for someone looking for a quiet location, but yet still not far from the downtown Santa Fe activities. A great blend for a get away.

Cool,calm and quiet

The pictures give a good overview of the house, it’s beautiful. They don’t convey how spectacular and scenic the area is. Very secluded, natural and amazingly quiet, only bird song and breezes. If you’re timing is right, catch the moon rise over the eastern mountains, right from the driveway, remarkable!

Solitude Under the Stars

What a gorgeous getaway! It was exactly what we needed---silence, peace, rest, beauty. Having stayed "in town" dozens of times, we were looking for something different this time. Remote but still convenient town is the best of both worlds. We went to the Plaza once, stopped at the grocery store to stock up on our way back, and never left again. Best sleep I've had on months! And what a treat to arrive after along drive and find the most delicious enchiladas for dinner! Thank you for hosting us. I would love to come back.

Santa Fe Sanctuary

Everything about this property was wonderful! The number of photos in the listing helped us make our decision. Upon arrival, reality was even better! The host was kind and responsive…even left a tray if delicious enchiladas for us to enjoy when we arrived. It is hard to say which was more enjoyable: the comfortable, well appointment house or the tranquil, secluded property. We had our dogs with us, and they loved exploring throughout the garden and up behind the house on the multiple trails. Check out was a breeze, with very few requests. All in all, exactly what we were hoping for. We cannot wait to return!

Peaceful on 10 acres.

Was as advertised and host was prompt and helpful. We enjoyed being out from SantaFe. If you are wanting to be close to shops and plaza, may not be for everyone. We would stay again, beautiful.

Home Exceeds Expectations

Even though the photos appeared great, upon arrival and seeing the property in person, completely outdid what we thought. The home is tastefully furnished. The property with all the sitting areas, decks, views, and trails are outstanding. My biggest complaint when renting a home, is owners too cheap to supply things like foil, plastic wrap, salt/pepper, detergent but this home has everything you need!!! We have already recommended the place to others who have seen our shared photos and plan on staying again in the future. Only minor criticism was we did not know the enchiladas in the refrigerator were for us until arriving home and someone re-reading the description of the property on VRBO. A note on the enchiladas in the frig would have helped but not a huge issue. The place is magnificent.
