Awesome location, situated just before the Parker River opens up to Plum Island Sound. This property is NOT on Plum Island but rather it's located adjacent to PI Sound, directly on the Parker River. It abuts reservation land and has amazing water and salt marsh views.

Historical Newbury and then some

Wonderful historical family home on the Parker River. Well maintained. Great for fishing and boating, relaxing, great views and the wildlife. Landlord very responsive and pleasant. House is clean and well stocked. We could have stayed all summer!

Lifeline during a relocation

While moving to Maine we needed an interim location to live with my 94 year old Dad while cleaning out our home. Our host was the most gracious and kind person helping to accommodate our needs. The home was lovely, clean, and inviting. The view from the front room was mesmerizing while having morning coffee. The neighborhood offered flat walking for Dad and the first floor master with half bath was just what he needed. The kitchen was stocked well with cooking tools. The dock was a great place to sit and stretch in the unusual warm weather in November. Truly the haven in our storm.

beautiful quiet comfortable getaway

We spent 2 weeks on Parker River and it was wonderful. Jonathan was a great host and very accommodating . The house is filled with nostalgia of a bygone era, quiet and comfortable while also updated with modern appliances. The front room that spans the width of the house captures the warmth of the sun with a beautiful view of the river. Daily walks on the quiet road leading to the house were a must. Tendercrop Farm which sells its own produce and more, (including some great stickers designed by their son!) and downtown Newburyport, for shopping and dining, are nearby. We definitely hope to return!

A piece of heaven

I rent my getaways for the view first and foremost. This place did not disappoint. Then for character and experience. The cottage has a lot of history behind it, situated right near the first landing place of the Pilgrims. The screened porch is a highlight, the beds comfy. They’ve thought of everything you’ll need in the kitchen. I can still picture the eagle that soared overhead on my last full day. I wish I’d rented for two weeks instead of one.

Rest, Relax & Renew!

This was the perfect spot to stay in Newbury, Massachusetts to relax and enjoy the views of Parker River. Stunning sunrises! There’s so much to see from the wall of windows facing the river! There is boating, kayaking, to birding. We have view of Ipswich! The cottage was stocked with everything we needed and then some. Jonathan couldn’t be any more accommodating or any nicer! It was very lovely stay, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet getaway close to everything! It’s a great alternative to Plum Island which tends to get very crowded. This is a very special place! I am forever grateful to have experienced this wonderful place!

Great find on the Parker River

What a great week and find -a well appointed, comfortable and exceptionally maintained cottage on a beautiful, quiet spot on the Parker River. We enjoyed the sun and evening sunsets on the private dock, kayaking up and down the river and to the beach at low tide and surf fishing on Plum Island. Jonathan was very gracious and accommodating (as was his son!) which made are stay even more enjoyable.

Relaxing week on Parker River.

Wonderful!

My husband and I just spent a week at this vacation home and our only problem was that a week wasn't nearly long enough. Jonathan is a terrific host, and the cottage is in a perfect location for a wide variety of activities, or no activity at all if you just need to unwind. It is equipped with comfortable furniture for reading or movie watching, and the kitchen has everything you could need if you enjoy cooking meals at "home." We loved being able to launch our kayaks from the dock, and enjoyed some beautiful sunsets from there as well. We are already thinking about our next vacation at Jonathan's on the Parker River!

Loved it!

Just finished two weeks at the cottage. We loved it! So quiet, but still close to Newburyport, restaurants, Plum Island etc. The Parker River is so pretty. We brought our kayaks and our boat which the dock accommodated nicely! The house was very clean and had everything we needed. Jonathan, the owner, was so accommodating and easy to work with. We hope to be back next summer!

Beautiful cottage

Loved it!

Fantastic spot on the Parker River. So great to have our boat at the dock! We were lucky to have perfect weather that week and were out on the boat every day exploring Plum Island, Ipswich Bay, Crane Beach, etc. Newbury and Newburyport are great. Loved getting corn & other fruits & vegetables at Tendercrop Farm 5min away. House was perfect and Jonathan, the owner, couldn't be nicer.

Great vacation!!!!

Can't recommend this place enough!! My family and I had a wonderful vacation!!! It is exactly as described, surrounded by BEAUTIFUl views!! We especially enjoyed being able to fish off the dock and kayak daily! The owner Jonathan also provided bikes which we happily took advantage of. This is a great place to stay, just a short drive to the beach and downtown Newburyport. We will definitely be back!!!:-)

Parker River

Excellent vacation home. Perfectly described on vbro. We had a blast. Perfect quiet location on the water. Easy boat or car ride to beaches. Beautiful views from house. Very clean, nice bedrooms and a great kitchen. Owner was available for questions. Perfect spot for both boating and biking. I highly recommend this house for a nice fun and relaxing vacation. Complete Relaxation

My family and I stayed here in early fall and truly enjoyed it. Whether it launching a kayak from the yard, fishing/crabbing off of the private dock, or simply sitting back and enjoying the expansive marsh and river views, there is just so much to do. My son was intrigued by watching all of the wildlife, birds, crabs, etc that can regularly be seen. This area on the Parker River is secluded enough to offer peaceful quiet evenings but also quite close to the restaurants and nightlife of Newburyport. This is perhaps the best property in the area as it is literally the last house on the river next to protected wetlands. This allows for true 180 degree plus views of the estuary which was perhaps our family's favorite part of our time there. The house has been renovated recently, the kitchen is very nice with new appliances, granite counters, and new cabinetry. Flooring is new throughout. My only regret is that I don't own a boat as you can apparently access a unique "spit" beach at low tide just minutes from the dock. Maybe next time! The owners are fantastic to work with as well. We stayed on Plum Island as well and, to us, this property simply offers more activities, relaxation and value.

A unique way to experience the Parker River

If you’re looking to spend your vacation in a relaxing atmosphere with views that win out over the TV then this is a great place to choose. The house is modern and clean yet retains its history and charm. We kept our boat at the end of the dock and spent every day out at the beaches or fishing. The only bad part about our vacation is when we had to leave. I would definitely recommend this house to family and friends.
