About this property

Amazing Tahoe Cabin - Short Walk to Sandy Beach

Charming, rustic cabin with classic Tahoe ambience and Swiss chalet design, just a short walk from Rubicon Bay’s pristine sandy beach.

Located on the lake side of Hwy 89, this is a great family vacation rental. It's just a five minute walk to the lake and a private, sandy beach with a pier and sand volleyball court. The pier is available for boat users, and buoy rentals are available through Rubicon Tahoe Owners Association.

This two story, three bedroom cabin with 1.5 baths, sleeps up to 6. Downstairs is a kitchen/dining room/living room that’s open and comfortable. The dining room table has ample space, and there's a large deck for a BBQ and eating outside. (Winter rentals: outdoor dining table is not available.) There’s a small bedroom ideal for kids, with a bunk bed, futon and adjacent half bath. The second story has two spacious bedrooms, one with a queen and one with a king bed, plus one full bath.

Bedding, towels, and virtually all kitchen needs are supplied.

Rubicon Bay is one of Tahoe’s most beautiful areas. It’s a quiet community that's a close drive to Emerald Bay, Sugar Pine Point, DL Bliss State Park, Chamber’s Landing or Homewood. It’s also one of the only areas in Tahoe with an easy drive to both North and South Shore restaurants, ski areas and casinos.

Peaceful cabin in the pines

The cabin was very comfortable-including the beds. The kitchen was well equipped and the open floor plan downstairs felt good. We spent a lot of time relaxing on the deck, which included a new barbecue and was often shady. The nearby HOA beach was a brief walk away and the beach was clean and pleasant.

Terrific Stay at Rubicon Bay Lake Tahoe

Easy check-in process and great communication from Marc (he let us know that a new washer & dryer were being delivered during our stay and apologized for any disturbance). This cabin was perfect for our family of 4 and had everything we needed (except for beach towels which we should’ve thought to bring) - we appreciated the use of the beach chairs and umbrellas & our kids were happy to see sand toys too. The private HOA beach is an easy walk from the cabin and is such a beautiful beach (clean, calm, uncrowded) - it’s what will keep us coming back in years to come. The cabin was clean but could use an extra dusting of cobwebs that were up near the ceiling (I’m not a fan of spiders - but I realize they come with the territory when you’re staying in a cabin in a wooded area) and the shower curtain liner needs to be replaced - I let Marc know and I’m sure he’s taking care of both issues. The only other thing that keeps me from giving it a 5 star is the long narrow driveway - I had no problem pulling in, but was too anxious to try to back all the way out to the main road and let my hubby do the honors. But for a fearless reverse driver it probably won’t be an issue.

Cozy

Marc was awesome. Easy to communicate with. The house itself was within walking distance to the lake. Nice and clean. It’s an old house though but it served its purpose Thanks Marc!

Cozy Tahoe Cabin

Very cozy "old Tahoe" mountain cabin, fully stocked with essentials and in a quiet area of Lake Tahoe. We were here for Thanksgiving with snow on the ground - great vibe.

Lake Tahoe getaway

Excellent location and neighborhood. The house itself needs some deferred maintenance attended to. Easy access to the private beach and overall a nice, quiet and tranquil place to be.

Rubicon Stay

The home is a nice mt. cabin. The location is very convenient for access to the community beach. We rented a mooring buoy for our boat which worked out great. The master bed was a little uncomfortable otherwise a nice place to stay.

2nd visit :)

Had a great stay for the second time. I came up w friends and family for a birthday weekend. The cabin is cozy and easy to settle in. Enjoyed having a bbq’d dinner on the deck under the pines. The very best part about staying here is the short walk to a beautiful private beach in Rubicon Bay. The owner Marc was very attentive w communication which I always appreciate. Thank you again Marc for renting your cabin for another great stay.

Great with kids

Our third year staying and have enjoyed every year. Walking distance to HOA beach and close drives to Bliss and Sugar Pine Point state parks. Cabin has everything we needed. Kids thought it was great. Water was cold this year though!

Meh.

Quaint, needs work...amenities could be upgraded with a minimum of effort. Some significant work on decks and balconies is needed. Parking is a pain, especially if neighbors have usurped your space. Deck chairs need cushions. Why not add a chaise lounge for outdoor appreciation ? Beds and bedding are comfortable. Living room is cabin thematically cute. Could use a front room screen door to aid airflow. Head to the homeowners beach in the summer...it’s wonderful and that’s where you get a full measure of the Tahoe ambiance.

Wonderful neighborhood, cozy cabin!

We will be back - our small family had a great time and the location couldn't be beat - a quick walk down to the private beach for kids and adults alike! The pier and buoy field was great for our boat too. The cabin was quaint and cozy, and well appointed - we didn't need to bring half the kitchen stuff we did, which was a pleasant surprise. Comfortable beds and linens. We look forward to coming here again soon!

Rubicon Cabin - Close to the beach

My five person family had a great stay at Marc's cabin. Marc keeps this classic old cabin in very good shape. It is clean and well maintained. My kids loved the recliner in the living room that tips back. We loved all the games provided, scrabble, bingo and puzzles. The South Rubicon beach is so beautiful, and it's a short walk down the hill. Enjoy! If you are arriving for the first time, definitely read the driving directions carefully. The Cabin is accessed via a small spur road. There is no perpendicular driveway right off of Rubicon Drive.

Cozy Cabin

The cabin was very cozy. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. The downstairs bedroom is really small with bunk beds and a futon but it was fine for 3 kids. The upstairs bedrooms were a nice size. The deck is great for Barbeque s and there is a nice size table out there with umbrella. Great location...walk to the private beach. Looking forward to going again next year!

Cozy cabin in beautiful Rubicon Bay

Fantastic location! We had a great time during our stay. The private HOA beach in gorgeous Rubicon Bay was a block from our cabin. Emerald Bay is just around the corner with gorgeous vista points and hiking trails that are kid friendly. Our stay in the cabin was very comfortable. The bedrooms upstairs are spacious and we all slept very well on the beds. We enjoyed bbqing and dining out on the deck in the evenings. My son really appreciated the wifi and cable when it was time to chill out for the evening. The owner of the cabin Marc was accommodating, easy to communicate with and prompt with requests or questions I had. My son actually "misplaced" his expensive iPod and Marc was very kind to ship the device to my home!!! I would definitely recommend this cabin to a friend, would love to stay again next summer ;)

Perfect Family Vacation

Loved our stay. The cabin is warm, quite and relaxing Just fantastic! It's an amazing location - very close to the beach, very clean and comfortable. It was a great choice for a family vacation, as we were able to go north to Tahoe City and south to South Lake Tahoe easily. For a family of six it's the perfect size. Highly recommended.
