The Château is 18th century and is built in solid stone it is very cool in the summer and does not take long to get lovely and warm in the winter months... It is a very cosy house... There is a topical swimming pool on the right hand size on the way to Vire which is very popular in the Winter. Also indoor swimming pool with water shoots in Conde Sur Noireau.

Netto is a great Supermarket on the way to Conde Sur Noireau it is brand new. Also the nearest Supermarket and Petrol Station is Carreforre only 3 mins away from The Chateau. The Calvados Brandy is also excellent in black coffee and should be tried too. I also love the house in the Summer because you can hear the crickets in the Summer when you arrive and the owl in the Winter.

We had a wonderful stay at the Château which is beautifully furnished and very well equipped. Gardens were lovely and a shop just a few minutes away. We would highly recommend

Great property out in the country side

We rented this property knowing it was remote and beautiful-and it certainly was both! Grocery shopping was only minutes away. The house itself is exactly as pictured and very comfortable. The fireplace worked great and we had a big fire most evenings, beautiful.

A little piece of heaven

This is a very comfortable property in Suisse Normande. For Brits, it has all mod cons, such as TV, wifi, bathrooms and a lovely lounge for chatting in. The dining room is spectacular, seating about 12 and ideal for family dinners. It's the sort of place you want to keep a secret, so it's available when you want it to be.

Exploring Normandy

The Chateau de Bremesnil was ideally positioned to enable us to explore the northern beaches as well as being close to Mont Saint Michel and the beaches to the west. We also enjoyed kayaking and discovering the local area, particularly the river around Clécy. The chateau itself was extensive… we were amazed at the space available for our two families - and everything was catered for. Our only reservation was the lack of a pool in the 30 degree heat but we found a fantastic little outdoor pool in Montsecret just a 10 minute drive away. All in all, a memorable experience in an outstanding property amid beautiful countryside- just perfect!

Fantastic house with a wonderful host

The chateau was a beautiful house in a quiet, private location. It was perfect for our group (grandparents, parents, children). Each of the two couples had their own private space in the luxorious main suites with en-suite bathrooms, while the children had cozy rooms with twin beds and their own (central) bathroom as well. The host, Sharon, is welcoming, helpful and kind - she answered all our questions quickly, left helpful instructions on all the appliances and has taken great care to make the chateau a wonderful place to stay. She's thought of everything - extra towels, space to store your clothes and toiletries, mirrors, enough kitchenware, a washing machine, enough place for eight people to eat and lounge comfortably. We had a wonderful time at the chateau and hope we will be able to come again soon!

Beautiful House inside and out

The chateau is beautifully situated, 3minutes by car from a supermarket, 5 minutes from the town of Vassy with a variety of independent food shops, very good restaurants within 10 minutes to one hour, and very handy for all the coastline towns, D Day Landing beaches ,etc... The house has beautiful furniture giving a feeling of luxury living. The outside has beautiful old trees which give shade on the hot days. More suitable for 2 families with 2 children each than 4 adults as all bedrooms are not equal in size or furnishings but we managed all the same.

Stunning chateau in peaceful surroundings

Great directions to find the property, description was accurate and it was perfect for 2 families to share. The property had lots of French character with modern appliances for comfortable living. We did all our own cooking and were pleased with the facilities. The weather was beautiful so we enjoyed the garden and bbq. Ideally situated for visiting Normandy beaches and other historic places. Beds were very comfy and all made up for our arrival. Communication with Sharon prior to visit was great. quick response to all our questions. We would definitely return.

Comfort, cosiness and elegance all wrapped up in one

Our stay at Chateau Bremesnil was exactly what we were hoping for. It possesses the elegance of a French country manor, but also the cosiness of a holiday home with all the luxuries and amenities. The bedrooms were spatious and the beds extremely comfortable. And being out in the country, there was no noise (beyond the occasional hawk or barking fox) to interrupt our long sleep-ins. The kitchen was very well equipped and large enough so that we often cooked together, then enjoyed our meals either in the dining room on rainy days, or under the evening sky when the weather was balmy. The grounds were perfect for playing croquet, badminton, Kubb and frisbee, adjacent to pastures of grazing cows. All in all, Chateau Bremesnil was the perfect location to spend two and a half weeks in Normandy. We had a wonderful time that allowed us to relax and spend quality time as a family. A big thank you to Sharon Buckley and Miguel who helped us with an electrical and plumbing problem at a minute's notice!

A Most Delightful Stay at Chateau de Bremesnil

It all seemed too good to be true. Until the key we had been sent opened the door and we walked in to find the house every bit as spacious and attractive as it appeared on the website, was I certain we had not made an error in booking. The rooms were indeed all very large, bright and very comfortable. The house was definitely as good as advertised - and larger and brighter than expected. The 2 large master bedrooms were complete with a modern en suite bathroom, one even had a dressing room. Both had comfortable king beds. The 2 other bedrooms had 2 twin beds and there is a very large bright shared family bathroom. We found the large kitchen very well equipped, the dishes pleasing and plentiful - kitchen amenities includes a gas stove, a dishwasher, a large table for family breakfast. In addition, there is an enormous dining room for relaxed evening meals. If preferred, there is also an outdoor table and chairs for 8. With darkness falling at 10 during our stay, we enjoyed sitting here a few evenings reliving the events of our day with a glass of wine or cider. We were a family of six - 3 generations - grandparents, parents and 2 girls - 12 and 15. The 12 year old actually celebrated her birthday there. In this spacious house we all felt we had the freedom to be alone or with family - to wander out of doors, or just sit in one of the comfortable chairs in the sitting room. Set on a large property in a beautiful rural area, the house is only minutes from several lovely historic villages with access to supermarkets, butchers, bakeries, pharmacies, dining, gas, etc. There is so much to explore and enjoy! During our stay of a week, we used the chateau as a base to explore much of Normandy and a small bit of Brittany. Our explorations included - the D-Day Beaches (including the towns, museums and cemeteries). We visited Bayeux, Caen, Rouen, Honfleur, Mont St. Michel, St.Malo, etc. To visit Normandy had been the motivation for our visit, and to be located within a reasonable drive of places we hoped to visit had been an important consideration. Sometimes the drives were a couple of hours, but we did several things each time. The bonus, we got to know and enjoy Normandy. We loved the house and the region and hope we will return another time to Normandy, to stay again, of course, at Chateau de Bremesnil. Thank you Sharon for sharing your lovely Normandy home with us.

A wonderful stay at the Chateau

Our family just came back from a wonderful stay in Normandy at the Chateau de Bremesnil. After a hectic week in Paris, it was a pure joy to relax in such a beautiful setting. We spent some great family time both indoor and outdoor with our nice neighbors, the cows. ;-) The Chateau is very spacious and well stocked, and it is in a great location. It served as our base to explore the D-Day beaches, Mont Saint-Michel, Etretat, Bayeux, and much more. And Sharon has been a pleasure to deal with. So if you're looking for a place to stay in Normandy, look no further and treat yourself to a dream vacation at the Chateau de Bremesnil.

A Grand House with all amenities

The two double bedrooms were lovely and luxurious, both en-suite with more than ample wardrobe space. The kitchen was well-equipped for a large number of people, we regularly cooked for eight with no problem whatsoever. We ate at the table in the large dining room, which made every meal like a special occasion. In addition, there was a great TV with Freeview which went down well with those wishing to keep up with current events. The surroundings were quiet and rural but a great supermarket about five minutes away. We'd love to go again very soon!

Stunning Chateau - Superb location

The chateau is beautiful, clean and very welcoming, set in a lovely area that is peaceful and very relaxing. Close to local attractions it was a great base to unwind and enjoy company with friends. The rooms are all very lovely, the bathrooms very clean and modern, the living areas very confortable and spacious. The only thing that would make this a 5 star for me would be a pool in the grounds outside to enjoy during thise warm afternoons, but if you're looking for a lovely home from home I would recommend.

A great place for a group holiday

We were a group of five friends touring around the area in our vintage cars. The chateau was everything we could have hoped for and the good weather really made the holiday. The owner was extremely helpful and was excellent at communicating with us. She even took the trouble to return some clothing that one of the party left at the property. The chateau provided good space both inside and outside and had all the facilities we required.

My dream was always to buy a lovely house in France. But didn't imagine buying a Manor House but I definitely fulfilled my dream. I am a single lady with an ambition and achieved it. I often go to France with my Parents who help maintain the house and there is plenty of space for all of us. It is my dream house and I love my bedroom (Master Bedroom) it definitely has the WOW FACTOR. I can't see me ever selling this Beautiful Home.

Why they chose this property

I brought this house for me to live in and run a Bed and Breakfast but decided in the end to rent out the whole house. Then stay in the UK and work because I have a job where I get 15 weeks holiday a year. So there is always plenty of time for holidays. But I am finding it difficult to book myself in the house because it is very popular with guests. The whole house is newly renovated with lovely french style beds.

What makes this property unique

I love the whole house. The living room is big with lovely fireplace. The Hallway is beautiful with decorated ceilings and lovely staircase. The kitchen is big with a range. The dinning room is great for entertaining. My bedroom (Master) has the WOW FACTOR. Also with dressing room. Big family bathroom as well. We love sitting outside on a hot summers evening with Heart FM on in the background.
