Awesome week end in the mountains enjoying the snow
We had such a great time staying in this house. Location is perfect, house is beautiful, cosy, with all that we needed to have a great stay. Enclosed back yard where the kids could play is a plus!
Only less positive experience was the heater that is very noisy in the master bedroom at night...
We had two families and two young children (2 and 5) who wanted to spend a weekend playing in the snow. This home was perfect for us with ample space for the kids, a fully stocked kitchen, a wonderful little backyard perfect for building snowmen and having snowball fights. The location is fantastic with short walks to the lake and a nearby park, and short drives to skiing, the Village, and shopping for any last minute necessities
Our hosts were incredibly responsive and were so accommodating with our requests to check in early and check out late.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat and are looking forward to our next visit to Big Bear!

Great stay, clean cottage, close to everything we needed
We were two families - 4 adults and 3 kids (ages 5, 5, and 8). We rent from VRBO often -- this place did not disappoint!
We went to Big Bear for the long Feb. holiday weekend. Eagle Point was a fantastic place for us. It was close to everything. The park was around the corner, perfect for making snow men and having snow ball fights. It's a short walk, and even a shorter drive, to the main road which has restaurants, shops, etc. The rental was very clean when we checked in, and all the appliances were in good working order. We appreciated the nice coffee maker and the plentiful pots, pans, and utensils. The upstairs room with the two twin beds also doubled as a play room for the kids -- which allowed the adults to hang out downstairs while the kids played upstairs. The glove and boot warmer/dryer is a huge plus!
Sarah was incredibly responsive and flexible. There was a huge snow storm predicted to arrive the day we were checking in. The unit was empty and Sarah was happy to let us check in early (we got there at noon). At check-out, Sarah was kind enough to let us check out late -- which enabled us to go snow tubing in the morning, and then get changed out of our wet clothes, and have lunch before leaving.
We are already excited about returning to Big Bear and would stay here again!
Our family of 4 had a nice stay at this updated and clean property. There is a nice park nearby and it is convenient to the slopes and the village. The owner/manager was quick to respond. My kids loved the Xbox upstairs.
I have been visiting Big Bear Lake and adjacent area every year for over a decade now. This stay was the best.
Pretty close to Snow Summit Ski area and even close to the lake. Host is awesome and very responsive to your communications. I was here with my family which has 2 kids. Both of them loved this place.
The house is clean and cozy. Kitchen is upgraded and has everything you need to cook and bake. Bathrooms are modern. Upstairs kids room has a XBOX360 and kids loved it. Plenty of windows with good open view space.
Loved staying here and will try to come back to the same place next time.
My family and I had a wonderful time at this cabin over the Thanksgiving holiday. It was beautifully remodeled and offered everything we needed for our 4 night stay.
Very cozy and clean! Thank you!
Our family had a great last minute getaway weekend for Labor Day. Property was perfect for our family. We are definitely thinking of booking for a winter trip.

The house was just what we needed for a long ski weekend for 7 of us.
The location is great, just a few minutes drive from the ski resorts. The house was a comfortable fit for 4 adults and 3 kids. I especially liked the well-equipped kitchen, and the kids enjoyed the board games and playing in the snow in the backyard.

Great Family Cabin!
We had a great long weekend in Big Bear and this home was perfect for our family. Easy to find and a short drive to town and Snow Summit. Super comfortable and very clean. The kitchen and bathrooms have been nicely remodeled and the bedrooms were comfortable. We were very impressed with how well stocked the home was...plenty of towels, trash bags, dish soap etc. We didn't use the laundry, but if we had stayed longer we would have definitely taken advantage of this nice feature. There is a nice little backyard where the kids were excited to build a snowman. Thank you to the owners for their quick responses. We love your home and look forward to returning!

Magical and memorable Christmas
A few of our family members decided instead of presents, we would gift the gift of memories...the cottage was just right... We were 8 adults, we skiied, walked the town and lake, cooked breakfast and dinner and found the cottage to be very comfortable, cozy, and centrally located..the kitchen had all necessary utensils to accommodate a special Christmas ham and all the fixings for dinner... it brought us back to our child hood home .....Sarah was very responsive in responding to questions....

Just Perfect!
Thank you Sarah for a perfect stay in Big Bear! It was my toddlers first time seeing snow and it was memorable! The home is great for cooking, eating and lounging all at the same time due to the open floor plan downstairs. The backyard ended up being a great place to build a snowman. We hope to be back soon!
Thank You!

A modernized gem!
Overall, our experience was great and Sarah was very friendly and responsive when I contacted her via the Homeaway app messaging, text, email, and cell phone! The house has been tastefully remodeled in every room and bathroom, with granite countertops and quality fixtures. There were plenty of towels and toilet paper in each bathroom! You could see a peek view of the lake and the house is a mile from Snow Summit, so location is great. A few reasons I did not give a full 5 stars... When we arrived, we had to plow the 2 driveways manually using a shovel. Neighbors told us that the driveways were clear that day but 3 hours before we got there, a tractor had come through and pushed some snow into the driveways...so I don't consider it the fault of the owner, but it would be good for them to have a metal shovel on hand. Only a plastic-y shovel was available and thank goodness a neighbor let us borrow his metal one to cut through the icy snow and saved us a lot of time. Also, the heater vents being in the ceiling caused everyone to have dry throats overnight because the air was blowing directly in our faces, especially in the master bedroom. I'd even suggest bringing a humidifier to combat this. With one of the sleeping areas being a loft, those who slept there didn't sleep too well - they could hear snoring from the other upstairs bedroom with their door closed...so something to keep in mind if you have snorers in your group! The home description advertised a grill, so we brought lots of burgers and hot dogs to cook, but the snow completely surrounded the grill in the backyard and we couldn't use it...so, if traveling during snow season, don't plan on using the grill. There is a small deck outside the kitchen door leading to one of the driveways, but it was covered in a thick layer of snow, so we couldn't enter the house that way. But again, overall it's a great cottage and working with Sarah made my first VRBO rental experience a good one!

Best. Vacation. Ever.
We took our three beach boys (all under 10) for a 3-day Big Bear Vacation to experience some snow. Mother Nature cooperated, and so did VRBO when it hooked us up with this 3-bedroom house. Best location to both Snow Summit and Bear Mountain. Our oldest son took snowboard lessons at both mountains, and we were able to drop him off at the drop off lots and pick him up after the lesson with ease because it was only a 5 minute drive from the house! One minute drive from the main boulevard (Big Bear Blvd) convenient to McDonalds, Big 5, and 7-Eleven. Easy driveway parking at the house, with a great enclosed backyard where our boys had hours of snow fun while we watched from inside the warm house. Two story house with a slightly steep staircase. Master bedroom downstairs with attached bathroom and attached laundry room and big TV - lots of room for the parents! Kids upstairs in the 2nd bedroom loft (with queen bed) and 3rd bedroom with twin beds and trundles for each bed and xbox and TV! Bathroom upstairs but no shower/tub (2nd shower is downstairs off the kitchen). Plenty of closet space, towels, fully stocked kitchen, great keyless entry at front door, back door with small porch which leads to the back yard. I went for a couple of runs around the great neighborhood (Eagle Point) which is a quiet upscale neighborhood close to the lake. Had contact with owner via email and had very quick friendly response. Very clean home. Everything works perfectly, including washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, boot/mitten warmers (nice touch!), heater, shower pressure, and three toilets. Obviously they have been strict about no smoking and no pets (which is great)! I can't recommend this place enough. We had so much fun. Two housekeepers arrived as we were leaving and they even offered to drop our garbage bags off at the city dump (which is a city code - there are no garbage cans outside so as not to attract the Big Bears I assume)! We left very thankful!

Great location and lovely home.
The property is located about a mile from snow summit and 2 miles from bear mountain. Love that it is a short drive to the lifts. The house was clean and well equipped. Everything we needed was available from dishes to pots and pans to hand soap to toilet paper. Prompt communication from Sarah, the owner. She always replied to my email and text in a timely manner. I look forward to staying here again. Thanks Sarah!

Fun trip to the snow!
Our family of three and another family of three had a great time here! Bedrooms were spacious and clean. The kids had a great time playing in the snow in the backyard. They built a snowman and had snowball fights! Great location too- super close to restaurants and Snow Summit! We are looking forward to staying here again! Also, the owner Sarah was super easy to communicate with and responded to questions quickly! For us, that communication means a lot and was greatly appreciated!! Thanks Sarah for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Amazing way to Bring in the New Year
Thank you for renting your home to us to help bring in the New Year with. We had an amazing time. The place was beautiful, fit 2 families of 4 well, and you can't beat the location. The owners were very helpful and approachable. Sarah was quick to respond to emails and even made sure there were games and sleds there to help entertain the kids. The home is very warm and wonderful and we created lots of fun memories there:)

Hassle Free at Big Bear
Location was great, very near slopes and restaurants. Ample easy parking.
Very comfy beds and bedding. Bathrooms were small, but more importantly, newly renovated. Owner/property manager was quick to reply to any questions, it was an easy booking and quick access in and out of the home. Benches to place bags / rack to hang snow gear were convenient. The third bedroom is a loft (not enclosed) with a queen bed, which should be fine for most families/ friends but something to note so there are no surprises. Central heating system tends to be a bit loud but heats the bedrooms well. Good place for a quick visit to Big Bear!

About the host
Hosted by Stephanie Davis
The owners are Matt and Sarah. Sarah grew up in California but now they reside in Dallas Texas with their two children.
Why they chose this property
The house was built by Sarah's great grandfather in the late 1940's. An addition was added in the 1980's. In 2012 a major renovation was undertaken redoing all of the bathrooms, the entire kitchen, and opening up the kitchen and living areas. New paint, carpet and brand new hard wood floors were added. The house was insulated and new siding placed around the outside with new paint. The house maintains all of its original charm but now with the modern conveniences of state of the art fixtures and amenities.
