Dirty and unkept. Ruined our family get together in the Grampians
Rubbish all around the outside of the property from the bin, rotting green waste left in the kitchen, dishwasher left with food scraps and dirty water in the bottom, glasses cups and utensils all needed to be washed, stained carpets that don't look to have been vacuumed and stained bedsheets that don't look to have been changed. Several cockroaches had to be removed from the kitchen plus the smoke detector continually beeps. We changed the battery and it still beeped. Messaged the owner but still have not received a reply. Overall very disappointed. The place is large and has potential but is poorly kept with little evidence of it being recently used or cleaned.
This is a great spot. Plenty of room for a small family gathering. Great sized bedrooms. Highly recommend.

Nice house but
The wifi didn't work, so all phones on Optus had no phone service. Neither of the TV 'S worked as they needed wifi. I had to hotspot one TV with my phone to watch any movies. The other TV had a Telstra TV box that had expired 2 months before! There was no information on the bins and the bins were full and out on the road our whole visit. The BBQ didn't work and was unclean, we had to go buy a lighter to get it working. There were little ants all over front and back door light switches and one switch was making sparking noise. We couldn't work out the property boundary so felt uncomfortable exploring the area on foot. Provided a nice coffee machine, but again no instructions so we had to work it out ourselves. Stains on my pillow case and sheets weren't on bed properly. Lots of cobwebs and dead flies. The pool table was fun, but only 1 cue in working order and the table wasn't level. Wonderful wild life at the door: kangaroo, wallabys, emus, birds

Not cleaned when arrived but great location
Disappointed when we arrived and property hadn’t been cleaned. Host got onto cleaner and they came out after a while but couldn’t do a lot until they finished which took a few hours.
The property itself was just what we wanted, great outdoor space and plenty of room for our large group.
For such a large group, we did find the kitchen area was a bit small and could’ve done with more cooking trays/dishes.

a little disappointed with the upkeep of the house. Rubbish over the drive when we arrived and bins over full. The towels had been folded and put on the beds but some still damp. We put them all through the dryer. Lots of the plates and cups had chips. Lots of spider webs. These are all minor things and such a pity to spoil your holiday home, in a great location.

Needs TLC
Love the house, have stayed before. It is in need of some work. Bed linen dirty, garden overgrown, floors dirty with bugs, shower needs a good clean.
Such a great location and vibe but disappointing level of hygiene
Despite assurances that cleaners had been in and cleaned prior to our arrival, the property was really dirty and inhabitable - we had to seek out alternative accomodation.
We had a great stay and will definitely be back we did have a issue on the first night which Georgie sorted out straight away and the rest of our stay was exactly what we needed. Perfect quiet location with plenty of wildlife to watch.
14 of us came for Adelaide on our bikes to explore the Grampians the house was beyond expectations the outside fire pit was unreal the house was better than the listing thank you very much had a great weekend
Property close to main road but feels remote. Kids learnt how to build a fire, played board games provided by hostess with their cousins. We all enjoyed the wild life nearby. Property close to zoo and many walking tracks. We will book this property again in the future. Hostess Georgie was very pleasant and always answered any quieries we had via email in real time. Kids loved going spotlighting at night investigating wildlife.

Great Grampians location in Halls Gap and great size to stay for a Group of 12.
The presentation of the property was disappointing. On entry to the house, we were greeted with a very offensive odour that never disappeared completely. Also the carpet was extensively stained and infront of the heater it had many burnt spots which would bring into question the safety/installation of the heater. Also the fridge and pantry had to be wiped clean before our food could be placed in it. A dusting of many items in the house was also needed and a top sheet for all bedding would have been an appreciated option. Unfortunately the immediate outside areas to socialize, including tables and chairs were in need of a good clean, especially the BBQ hotplates and steel cabinets. This limited our use of it.
We suspect that there is a long term water leak in the upstairs bathroom as is evident on the exposed beams on the ground floor. Inspite of this, the overall facilities were great, electric appliances very good and we did enjoy our holiday and the visiting wildlife.
We were 2 families staying for 4 nights. 5 adults, 3 kids (12, 13 & 15 years) & 2 dogs.
The house can accommodate 15 people so there was lots of space for everyone. If you needed to work or down time, you could find somewhere. If you wanted the group together there is indoor & outdoor space. We saw plenty of kangaroos jumping by during our stay which was wonderful. The location is down a remote private road off the highway but very close to Halls Gap central. You can walk to a great coffee shop just down the road & there is a bottle shop & restaurant walkable at Halls Gap Hotel.
A few things which could be done to improve the stay: the pool table isn’t straight so difficult to use. The dishwasher wasn’t able to run on full wash, only 1/2 wash. It had a great coffee machine but no coffee whc wld have been nice.
Overall a great stay & we had a great time!
Tranquil, relaxing environment .
We especially enjoyed the outdoor seating around the fire pit.
The layout of the family home was very accommodating to a large group of friends with several different seating areas.
Over our 5 day stay we explored the Grampians in depth
The house was very spacious and well suited to our extended family, from grandmother to teens. Plenty of spaces to relax in
The location was great as it was quiet and surrounded by a nice garden with good out door spaces. Loved the fire pit and garden settings
A few things could do to be fixed. The pool table wasn’t even, the balls rolled to one corner which disappointed the teenagers. The filter on the dish washer hadn’t be cleaned in a long time so dish washer didn’t was properly until we cleaned the filter.
The sliding door from dining area to outside needs fixing
We struck really hot weather and we would have appreciated top sheets and blankets for better temperature control
The property manager responded to the faulty fire alarm which needed a new battery.
It would be good if there was an easier way to contact Stayz as we had difficulties probably partly due to poor reception but also because the messaging through the website kept bouncing back.
We had a great time here. Plenty of room, outdoor fire, indoor fire and a great outdoor bbq area. Great location only 3k's from Halls Gap but in a beautiful bush setting away from the tourist mayhem. The only downside was the coffee drinkers in our group couldn't use the coffee machine as there were no coffee beans, even though the webpage said there would be beans available. Not a big deal for the non coffee drinkers though.
The house was perfect for our need, two families with 6 children from 6-16. The separate living area upstairs with the big couch and TV was perfect for keeping the kids occupied and made use of the fully set up seating area around the fire pit outside. Each morning saw kangaroos grazing and on one day 2 fighting right outside our windows! Property is amazing and fully equipped with pretty much everything we deeded. Highly recommend, would stay again!
Our stay at the retreat was everything we wanted (and needed!!) in a holiday.
The house is beautiful, and so homely. We felt very comfortable, and it definitely had everything that we needed.
It is such a gorgeous area, and our kids were so excited to watch the kangaroos bounce around the house. We loved the open green space, and the chance to take a break.
Communications with Georgie were excellent, she was fast to respond, and extremely helpful.
I would definitely recommend this property, it really was an amazing getaway.
