Not a sterile, overpriced, predictable, boring resort. In awe as soon as we pulled in, driving through lush tropical gardens full of nature sounds. Linda was at the gate (which must remain closed and padlocked) waiting for us. Got a quick tour to learn the way of the cottage and off to bed. Frogs lulled us to sleep and birds woke us in the morning. We loved the screened windows and being so close with nature. Geckos stayed on the walls/ceiling and did their jobs by feasting on bugs. OB, the resident kitty, was sweet. We let him in the house as he wanted, and he enjoyed the kitchen. He liked to sleep nights outdoors atop the fruit box. We hope all guests will love and respect OB, as we did. And the geckos. Linda arrived daily with special treats and left an assortment of fresh fruits from her garden. She is a phenomenal woman who taught us much about respecting our earth. We really enjoyed chatting with her daily and she went above and beyond as a host. But if you want to be completely left alone, she will also respect that. She will go far out of her way to ensure the comfort of her guests. Since water is on a catchment system, Linda brought us filtered water for drinking from her own filtered catchment system at her house, which is also on the property. Eveything about our experience was magical: the grounds, the animals, the sounds, the sunsets, the beaches, the fruits, the outdoor amenities, the connection to nature, and Linda. I can't imagine much else living up to this!
