Wonderful vacation home
We spent a week in this great home while hiking and biking Acadia National Park. It was the perfect distance from the park and Bar Harbor. Amber was a great host and her property was exceptionally clean and very comfortable for four adults. If we ever vacation in that area again I will look to book this exact same home

Great location!
The house was in a great location for accessing activities, with Acadia NP, Bar Harbor, and the other towns on MDI within a short drive. The house was clean and quiet, with a good selection of reading material about local attractions.

Acadia National Park family vacation
Thank you for a wonderful stay. We really enjoyed Acadia National Park and your home was well stocked with everything we needed to feel at home. We really enjoyed the cardinal that visited your kitchen windows every morning between 6:30 and 7am. We view cardinals as a visitor from heaven, so it was a treat! Thank you again, for a great stay.

Visiting from Wisconsin
We made the trip to visit Acadia NP and bar harbor. The was perfectly located to enjoy both. Close enough to be very convenient. Loved the large whirlpool tub for after hikes. They provided extras that are always appreciated (shampoo, conditioner, body wash) Had a good selection of games. Really appreciated all the information on things to do locally. Only 5 minutes away from the highly recommended lobster place. Only thing is wished there was a table inside to accommodate being able to sit down and eat,, although provided outside sometimes we ate later in the evening. Beds are a little noisy when moving around. Listing is very accurate, and I would not hesitate to stay here again, or recommend to Friends and family.

The property matched the listing. Lack of kitchen table/chairs is the only observation I missed when booking. Not a big deal for adult groups (Breakfast bar with seating for two exists.) It was great that a hard sided cooler was provided!

Excellent location
Excellent location for touring the island!! It was hard to believe though how many people don't know how to open casement windows and a lot of the window cranks were broken. With AC at times the house got hot not being able to open all the windows. Overall our stay was very nice and enjoyable!! Thank you Amber for hosting us!

Excellent place and location
The place is clean, large, functional. The owner is nice and helpful. The location on the island is excellent, with perfect access to east or west sides. It is secluded, yet we have close neighbors so we don't feel isolated. As others said, there is no proper table to eat at, the island in the kitchen sits 2, and you can use the low table in the living room.

All the comforts of home
We really enjoyed our stay! This home was fully equipped, more than any other rental we have stayed in! Spices, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags! The jacuzzi tub was wonderful!! Close enough to downtown but not close enough to have to deal with the crowds and noise! Quiet, set back on the road! Easy check out! Highly recommend!!

SeaStone Cottage is owned, managed and cleaned by Amber Howard, a local island resident. As the daughter of a stone mason, Amber decided to pay homage to her heritage and name this property after the stone cairns that guide hikers through Acadia National Park. With SeaStone Amber hopes to share her love of adventure and travel on the very island where she grew up. Amber lives in Bar Harbor with her family and works as a massage therapist. In her free time you can find her hiking in the park, paddling on one of Acadia's majestic lakes or working in her garden.

Why they chose this property

Mount Desert Island was selected as the 25th best island in the world by Travel & Leisure. Sand Beach was featured as the Destination of the Day by The Huffington Post. Acadia National Park was rated as the 2nd best for biking in the country. And Bar Harbor's Town Square was honored as one of the most beautiful by Travel & Leisure.

This island is known as 'Eden,' and I hope that while you visit with us you are able to Live, Travel, Adventure, and experience this amazing place and come to love it as I have.

What makes this property unique

SeaStone Cottage is in the ideal location for those looking for a complete vacation experience on Mount Desert Island. Nestled in a pine wood forest in the village of Town Hill, Seastone is centrally located just 4 miles from the entrance to Acadia National Park, 7 miles from downtown Bar Harbor, and 3.5 miles from Somesville, Southwest Harbor, and the "quiet side" of the island. Spend your morning swimming in Echo Lake, or jumping off the secluded cliffs into Long Pond. Enjoy the view of Somes Sound from the top of Acadia Mountain. Hike the Beehive in the afternoon, or if you're daring take a chilly dip at Sand Beach. End your evening in Bar Harbor enjoying dinner or watching the sun set from the top of Cadillac Mountain. Don't forget to end the night with some ice cream while you enjoy live music in the Village Green, or a cocktail at any of the local watering holes. Wherever you go, you are always just minutes away from SeaStone!
