Katama home w/ cove, horse farm & ocean views. Ferry tickets included 6/22-6/28
Our peaceful five bedroom home has it all. We meticulously landscaped and decorated for our family and now are opening our home to Vrbo! We're located down a private dirt road off a paved bike bath and next to South Beach. In front we are overlooking a brackish cove filed with herring and crabs. The bird life view from our deck is epic. Beyond the cove in the distance you can see the back of South Beach and glimpses of the Atlantic Ocean. The views are horse farms and to die for pastoral serenity.
You'll eat dinner on the deck watching all the nature unfold in front of you as you prepare for the most beautiful sunset you've ever seen over the farms and cove. Once the sun is down you'll move quickly to pitch dark nights with incredible star gazing and only the sound of the waves at South Beach to reinforce the moment. If you get a bug to see other people, you're a short walk to South Beach (or a short distance to driving your car onto the beach).
There's a paved bike path at the end of our dirt road that goes into Edgartown or around the Island for those that want to avoid cars all together. We are a 10 minute flat bike ride into Edgartown for some world class dining. This is a very unique house and setting that provides very quick access to civilization with utter seclusion in a natural setting for the privacy seeker. Simply the best of both worlds!

This is the second year we’ve stayed here and you can’t beat the location! The house is really great and fits our large family well. The outdoor space at the house is also amazing. You get a great taste for the outdoors and remoteness of the vineyard here while at the same time are close enough to downtown Edgartown to enjoy the scene there!
We absolutely loved our stay! Denise was a gracious and extraordinary host. The property was dreamy and the house was a big hug. Can’t wait to come back! Look no further.
We had a wonderful week in Katama. The house is spacious and bright, and in a terrific location. Easy biking to Edgartown and South Beach, and great breakfasts at the Katama Airfield and Katama Market. The house is well-stocked with everything for the beach and for making family meals together. Thank you Denise for hosting our family!
This property is stunning! We love the vineyard and have stayed for years in this vicinity but this property has now taken the top spot! The location and privacy cannot be beat and the owner is fantastic, responding to any questions promptly! Our family had a wonderful stay and we did not want to leave …. the week flew by! So many memories were made in just this one week - it was just perfect!
We had a wonderful two week stay at this home. Denise was a great host. Our two families fit perfectly in the home and the indoor and outdoor space was excellent. The sunrise and sunset views were beautiful. We had an excellent stay and highly recommend this home!
This is the second time we have rented this home for a friends and family vacation. The location is perfect, very private and just a 10 min walk to South Beach. The home is spacious with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for our group of 10.
Why do we keep coming back? Beautiful property, immaculate home close to beach; sound of waves crashing on beach, sunsets that take your breath away….time spent with family!
Had a great visit. just too short for four days. House well appointed in both location and with layout. Just be aware that you must rent all your bedding and towels. Very convenient that bicycles were delivered to us. We loved the outdoor shower and eyed the fire pit although no time to use. Made some housekeeping recommendations that hopefully will be followed up with ...the kitchen needs a good clean out and better organization/replacement of cooking utensils as well as closet where all the beach gear is stored..
The Location: In one word, it’s fantastic. It’s a 3-minute bike ride to South Beach (the Atlantic). It’s a one-minute bike ride to the broad, separated bike path to Edgartown which is under 15 minutes pedaling away. The property the house sits on is also very private with very few other houses nearby. Looking from the main deck on the second floor of the house, one has a vista of trees and hills for over a mile with glimpse of Edgartown Great Pond less than half a mile away and fewer than half a dozen houses in sight!
The House: The house itself is very roomy, well designed, and in great shape. The rooms are all very spacious. The house is an “upside-down” house, that is, the living room, dining room, and kitchen are all on the second floor (as is the master bedroom) because that’s where the best views are. The master bedroom (with a bathroom en suite) is large with its own balcony (also accessible from the kitchen/dining area). The living room is gigantic, and all the second floor has lots of windows, so feels very light. A loft can be reached from the living area by a tight spiral staircase and has a double bed and two twins with trundle bets – great for kids. The first floor has another en suite bedroom and two other bedrooms as well as a large living area dominated by a pool table which our guests enjoyed using.
The decks of the house are simply great. Watching the sunset from the main deck outside the living room is a delight and dinner out there is glorious. A smaller deck (accessed through the master bedroom or the kitchen) is great breakfast area or pre-dinner cocktail area. Central AC in the house keeps it cool on the few really hot days. A fully enclose outdoor shower in the back is a treat coming back from the beach.
The Host: Denise was always easy to reach and very helpful. She had thoughtful suggestions and her follow-up was always reliable. She seemed eager to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.
As usual, we had an incredible time at out Katama Getaway! Denise is amazing to work with and always there for questions! Beautiful home, amazing location and tons of fun!
Can't wait til next year!
What a wonderful stay!! The house and view is even more beautiful in person. It’s really a special, relaxing place to listen to the birds and getaway. Great location to be close to the beach and quick drive into town while removed from any noise. Had everything we needed! Hope to come again soon
Great spacious house. Nice large yard and view of the cove. Close to South Beach. Would definitely stay again. Denise the host is great and easy to communicate with.
We had an amazing time at one of the nicest houses we have ever stayed at. This property is breathtaking and is perfectly located for maximum beach time.
The location and house was perfect for our party of 11. There is ample space to spread out in the kitchen and common areas. The pool table was great for kids and adults. The beach is a short walk from the house or a super quick drive if you rent a vehicle. Grocery shopping in Edgartown is 10 mins away. If this is your first time renting a house on Martha's Vineyard be aware that you have to rent bed linens, bath towels, beach towels and kitchen towels. This appears to be standard protocol for this island but easy to do as there are 3 linen rental business to choose from. I definitely recommend this property rental for your vacation.
Our second year staying here and with all the craziness going on in the world today we were so looking forward to our week on the island and we could not have had a more incredible time. Spent the mornings on the deck listening to the waves crashing, walked/rode bikes to the beach and breakfast at Katama Airfield, zipped into town a few nights. It was more than enough room for all of us. Thank you Denise for another great year!
Beautiful home, close to beach. Days are spent wandering the island, evenings we sit on deck listening to ocean and watching sunsets! Next day: repeat. Have already booked for 2021....
Could not have asked for a better experience with Denise - she was incredibly attentive and communicative. The house is gorgeous, secluded, clean and beautiful, and an easy walk to a beautiful beach - even with multiple children in tow! We are so thankful to have had the opportunity to stay here and hope to have the chance to do so again soon!
We found it in Katama! Beautiful home, sunsets exploding on the horizon, sound of waves crashing on the beach - a memory we will all keep as we look forward to next year!
