Could be so much better
Finding the property was a mission in itself! Once found I could not get my car up the very narrow driveway and resorted in parking in a car park near by. Walking up the alley way is not very pleasant, two houses/flats which are in desperate need to repair and cleaning. On seeing our apartment the out side is not well kept, paint falling off the window frames and rust, ladders and old garden furniture outside! But… once in the apartment is lovely! Clean, modern and cosy. It’s a shame as if the outside was maintained and made to look appealing we would revisit! I did manage to get my car in there by reversing and ensuring no one was parked opposite. Good location as the beach is a stone through away and only a 15 minute walk into Hastings. There was a few bits that needed attention- the work top in the kitchen in parts was rotten, carpets could do with a clean, shower is a nightmare to get to the right temperature, and is old, the top windows could do with a good clean and a new front door! We stayed in a few nights and the Wi-Fi and smart tv is very good. The outside could be weeded, nice pots to shield you from other holidays makers (as we was told there was a PRIVATE outdoor area) nice outside furniture and fairy lights would make all the difference.

Excellent
Really great property. Bright and comfortable. Shops close by and an easy, pleasant walk to Hastings. Some cool cafe bars on the sea front at St Leonard’s. Had email contact with the owner which was quick and efficient. Overall an excellent stay which I would repeat and recommend with no hesitation.

I was born in Hastings and have seen the town improve dramatically over the past few years. However I do love to travel, be it to Edinburgh where my sister lives, the very affordable Eastern Europe or Thailand which I have visited many times.
I am a massive snowboarding fan which has taken me over the years to nine different countries. I also love to mountain and road bike.

Why they chose this property

I converted the mews from a garage workshop around 2003 and uncovered some old cobble stones. I later discovered that the next mews courtyard along was where Queen Victoria kept her carriages when taking in the sea air in St Leonards. Here, in Queen Victoria Mews, is where her horses were stabled!
St Leonards has its own special vibe with quirky and interesting shops, galleries and cafes right on the doorstep - including a fantastic deli on Kings Road and a gluten free cafe along with a cinema on Norman Road, amongst many others to choose from. Ten cafes within 250m can't be bad!!

What makes this property unique

I live nearby and am available to help and answer any questions you may have.
There is a baby travel cot available.
