About this property

Quiet and rustic 1800s Farmhouse on 230 Acre Farm, Relax, Hunt, Explore.

Located in lovely Coshocton County, McKee Farmhouse was built in the mid 1800's, the house still boasts original woodwork and fireplace.

Each room has its own unique style and provides comfort for our guests. The house has central air and electric heat on the first floor. The second floor has an ac window unit in each of the bedrooms. The second floor does not have duct-work, so it can be much cooler in the winter months, but we have plenty of extra blankets and comforters to help keep you warm.

Being an old farmhouse, it comes with some imperfections and quirks. It definitely has "Anne of Green Gables" or "Grandma's house" vibes. We are striving to update things as we are able, but the farmhouse is original to our family farm, and with each imperfection, there is often a memory or story behind it . It is a step back in time.

While we do all we can to keep out little critters, because it is an old farmhouse in the country, occasionally a mouse will make its way inside.

Not far from the house is the McKee Barn. A classic of Coshocton County. A porch swing makes sitting on the covered porch with a view of the barn, pasture and woods a relaxing experience.

Guests are welcome to explore the rolling hills, pastures and woods on the farm. A favorite hunting spot for several guests, McKee Farm is home to many deer and turkey.

Amazing as always.
We come here every year and we love it! Rural and private. No WiFi so if you need that, this is not for you. Lots of places to hike. Beautiful scenery. The owners are awesome, very friendly.

Quite!
This is the place to go if you want to relax and get away from it all. We enjoyed walks around the farm and just reading, playing games and doing puzzles. A day excursion to Amish Country was fun.

Lovely get away.
This is a quaint 1880's farm house. The bedrooms were suprisingly large and well appointed. The two living rooms were quite comfortable and nice for chatting with our family (family get together). It is quiet and very peaceful area. Lovely porch to sit on and beautiful surroundings. And Squeeky is adorable! Thanks so much for hosting us.

A Place Apart From Time
Words can not describe the beauty and tranquility of the McKee Farm and the Kinsey's warm reception. Circumstances led me to arrange an extended stay on the farm, most of six weeks. Even so, time was inadequate. For steeping in the stillness of breezes sweeping across a hillcrest soybean carpet and stars circling above the endless horizon requires ample time. I have visited heaven.

Family Time at the Farm
Fresh air, country quiet, beautiful rolling farmland and woods became our post-pandemic weeklong reunion with two of our grandchildren. We all loved our time together on the farm. The farmhouse had everything we needed. We loved the big kitchen for meals and baking cookies. The front porch became a favorite place to be when the two hammocks were hung for the kids to hangout in. It’s a great place for children to be outside and explore.

Great place to relax Away from everything!
Had a very relaxing stay, the house was very roomy and welcoming like being at grandma's house. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking. As told, the cell service is hot and miss but that's OK when you need to escape out all. Thank you for the great place to stay, we'll definitely stay again.

Quiet scenic getaway
We were looking for a place to relax with friends and this was the perfect location. Carol was great with communication and letting us know what was available on their spacious property. The kitchen was well stocked for all the cooking that we did and everyone loved the old farmhouse feel. It was a great price for such a large space!

We had a great time here!
The owners of this nice farmhouse way out in the country have gone to great pains to ensure it's set up perfectly for guests. Remember, this in an 1800s restored farmhouse and not a condo with a pool and nightclub nearby. If you want peace and quiet, this is the place. Communication was excellent and Carol and Von made sure we understood that the roads in and the driveway are really muddy when wet. The house was a nice old original farmhouse, but updated with a very nice kitchen and bathroom. There are four large bedrooms (Master on the first floor) and one bathroom (first floor). The owners provided all the necessities and then some, and we were very comfortable. The house has central heat and AC. There is no wi-fi and we didn't have cell service (AT&T), but we provided the owners' phone numbers to family in case of emergency. The owners were fine with that. They live up the driveway a ways from the farmhouse. Von and Carol also allow camping on the property, but we couldn't see or hear the campers from the porch swing while we were reading. So, we give the owners and the property five stars! You will enjoy your stay here.

Lovely Family Retreat
This is our second time on the farm. What’s not to love? Spacious, quiet and able to disconnect from the world. We enjoyed our stay and spending long overdue time with family we see a couple of times a year. We love feeding treats to the kitty that visits daily. A beautiful view and wonderful hospitality. We are truly appreciative of Von and Carol for extending their home to us and love the history behind it. Thank you once again!

Isolated rustic farmhouse, clean and large. Friendly hosts. No WiFi or cell signal. No central A/C on top floor (one window unit in 1 of 3 bedrooms) so hot for our late June stay despite

About the host

Hosted by Von & Carol Kinsey

Host profile image
Von and Carol live on their family farm in rural Ohio. Spending time with family, exploring the outdoors, camping, and woodworking are some things they enjoy! The McKee Farm has been in Von's family for close to 200 years! They raise goats, horses, and cows. Corn and soybeans are also on the farm.

Why they chose this property

McKee Farm has over 230 acres of woods, pasture, and cropland to explore. Ravines, creeks, beautiful oaks, walnuts, sycamores, and beech trees can be found all over the land. There are places to hike, or just sit and relax by a campfire. The house was built in the mid 1800s and still has much of the old charm that makes it unique. While the house is not without flaws, it has a cozy, old-timey feel that will take you back to a time when life was slower.

What makes this property unique

Hiking trails, fresh air, farm life, animals, and a quaint old four bedroom house with a full bathroom, two living rooms, and a full kitchen. You get all the amenities on a quiet old farm.
