Home in Paradise

My family and I just stayed for 2 sun filled, glorious weeks at Aruba Ridge Villa, in Noord, Aruba. We loved the wide open space in the main Iiving area that extended out to large sun filled deck. Nice areas at back and side for breeze and shade. Beds were very comfortable, showers had lots of pressure and the lukewarm water was refreshing. The very best part of this VRBO was our caretaker. Michaelangelo was outstanding to say the least. He went above and beyond to help us get settled in. He arranged a wheel chair for my Dad, got us a car rental, showed us around his beautiful island, he really made us feel like family. Renting a car was necessary for us and was really economical compared to taking a cab or two every time we went out. We were a group of 6 and only 5 can go in a cab. The villa had everything we needed to be more than comfortable. Loved our time there, made a great new friend and can't wait to go back.

Great vacation house.

Great showers, beds are a little too firm for me, loved the openness, very clean, caretaker on sight if any issues, close to Palm Beach and all restaurants.

Nice place to stay.

Stayed a week here 8 years ago. Two weeks this time. Easy access to Eagle & Palm Beaches. Many resturants are also close by. Nice open air area downstairs. A/C in all bedrooms make for comfortable sleeping. Kitchen has just about everything needed for meals. No hot water for showers but after a hot day at the beach, the shower was refreshing. Having beach chairs that we could take to the beach would have been a real plus. The on sight property manager was around frequently and was always helpful. Not only if we needed anything for the house but also good info about living on the island itself. Always felt safe living in a "normal" neighborhood.

Fun stay!

We recently stayed at Arubaridge for seven days and it was perfect for our group! Each couple had their own private air conditioned bedroom and en suite bathroom. The beds were super comfortable; we all slept great every night! We had been told that the water in the showers does not get “hot” like we might be used to. Most of our group was fine with the warm water, as it turned out to be quite refreshing after a hot day out and about, but one in our group missed a truly hot shower. Just something to know ahead of time. The common kitchen/living room area on the main floor was a great gathering place as every morning we figured out where to go and what to do, and every night we got together and played cards. The kitchen had all the appliances/utensils/dishes we needed (no dishwasher, but we didn’t really need one). With large doors on both sides, we had breezes through the house all the time. We enjoyed coffee in the mornings, and even had a barbecue dinner one night with the grill on the back patio! There’s a nice little yard with pretty landscaping: bougainvilleas, aloe plants, yuccas and more. There are lots of patios: each bedroom opens to one, there’s a front patio, back patio and a side patio (with tiki umbrella). We saw chickens most of the days we were there; charming at first, but by the end, their early morning wake up calls were not as charming! This house is in a convenient location, in a nice neighborhood. We always felt safe. It is about a 10 minute walk to the beautiful Palm Beach (we got lost the first day we walked back, but then couldn’t figure out how that happened!). There is so much to see and do at Palm Beach that you don’t need to go anywhere else for the whole week, except that you would miss out on all of the rest that Aruba has to offer. There are TV's in all the rooms and all worked fine. There are even safes in the rooms for your valuables. The wi fi worked great as well. We also liked that there was a landline that we could make free calls to the U.S. if we needed to, and receive them as well. When we go back to Aruba, we will be staying at Arubaridge again!

Comfortable and Convenient

My husband, two teenage kids and i spent two weeks at this villa this past March. We have been to Aruba before and were specifically looking for a place in this location. It was ideal in that it was only 10 min. walking distance to my family who come every year, 15 min. walk to the beach and shops/ restaurants of Palm Beach. The kids loved having their own room and bathrooms. I would not recommend this villa however, for a family with young kids unless the parents are going to share the kids' bedroom, as you cannot hear anything that is happening outside your room, except maybe the roosters in the morning. The photos of the villa are exactly how you will find it. Clean, open and airy and large enough to have guests join you for happy hour or supper. I would recommend doing groceries at Super Foods or Ling and Sons if you prefer a "North American" style supermarket although there are several small scale supermarkets in the neighborhood. The only issues we experienced which are minor, is 1. my husband was frustrated by the lack of sharp knives for chopping and food prep. 2. The caretaker is difficult to reach if you do not have a cell phone and that is something we do not have. I would like to suggest to the owner to consider purchasing some beach chairs to leave at the villa for guests. We met some wonderful Arubans who really made our vacation special as well. I would recommend this villa to friends and family and i would consider coming back here again. Thank you very much for sharing your Aruba home with us. Chrys

Great place, great location!

This house is great for more than one couple. We had three couples and each had their own air conditioned bedroom with its own bathroom. All three BR's are very similar so no fuss over who gets a better room. Common areas are well removed from bedrooms so you can rest while others gather. Close to everything you want to do on Aruba. Very nice house furnished just right. Not so nice that you are afraid to touch anything but very comfortable and enjoyable. Everything you need is there including an onsite caretaker that is very helpful without being intrusive. Will definitely call Billy the owner the next time we visit Aruba!! (Note, these comments are based on enjoying living like a local in Aruba. If you need hot water showers, AC in every room and don't want to see the ocasional chicken or goat in the front, then pay the big money and stay at a hotel or resort)

quality stay

Place worked quite well and was clean. Plenty of room for the group, was nice having a private bathroom for each room. Porch area for sitting was quite relaxing for conversation and a few evening/midday cocktails. Grocery store down the road within walking distance. Beach ~5 minute walk from the villa, we used backpacks for the day trips. All the kitchen essentials were available. Typically made breakfast at the property and then went out for lunch/dinner. Hotel pick up worked quite well. Water temps were fine for us, found shower temps to be better if they had a chance to warm under the sun. I would recommend and stay at this property again.

Great location and setup

Great location. It's close to a great beach and all the main restaurants, but it's far enough out of the way to not be right in the middle of all the tourists. It is a perfect setup for couples. Each bedroom has it's own entrance and it's own private bathroom, almost set up like 3 separate hotel rooms with a shared living room and kitchen downstairs. The owner was very responsive and even offered to pick us up from the airport if we needed. He was extremely helpful and gave us lots of tips of things for family-friendly things to do.

LETS DO IT AGAIN AND SOON!!!!!

What a wonderful getaway. Everything availalbe to you just like your at home. The bedrooms were spacious very clean and beds were very comfortable. Loved having the belcony off the bed rooms in the morning to look out over the salina. The kitchen is well equiped and you can drink the water from the tap and it taste good. I don't think there was any area of the property we didnt explore. What a relaxing stay. Just close enough to the action and just out of the lime light. The Owners was very accommodating to all our questions on where to go and what to see. Had a chance to see a Marty Gras parade. Don't stand to close to the building, the music bounces off it and you think your heart will take on a different beat. Great fun & and the costumes and lights wow! We picked up a fresh barracuda off the fishermen on the docks and cooked that up one night with pineapple coconut salsa...incredible. There is a small eatery called palm beach great food loved the cod, nothing special in décor but they sure can cook (local cuisine). We went sight seeing from north to south. The natural pool in the national park was breath taking (you must take a tour for this, do not try to take a rental car.) This island is so picturesque. Beaches are incredible beautiful, clean and accessible to all tourist, not owned by the hotel in front of it. To me it says Aruba is its own and not being dominated by the big hotels. Also toured what I call a ghost town. Check it out in the south near Rogers and Baby beach. Sure would like to go again and take more people with me. I would love to bring others to share the peace and comfort i enjoyed.

First trip to Aruba

Stayed at the villa and was thoroughly pleased with the accommodations. Views from balconies was awesome. The pictures are good but the real thing is amazingly beautiful. Going from -degrees to the gentle warm breezes of Aruba was excellent. Property was clean and well kept, near great restaurants. The owner was vey receptive to our needs. We went on tours of the country side which where amazing. Attended one of the festival parades, great music. Dined at a local eatery, food was great, service, friendly and fast. Shopping is close by, beaches are wonderful. Could not asked for a better place to stay. I would and have recommended this villa to family and friends. Hoping to return soon. Love, love, loved the place.

I was very well pleased with the Aruba Ridge villa. This was our first trip to Aruba.

The property exceeded my expectations and the photos accurately describe the property. It was clean and well maintained. I felt comfortable with the location, which was very close to everything in Palm Beach. A couple of evenings we just sat on the patio until the wee hours enjoying the sea breeze and the lights of the resorts twinkling in the salina. I highly recommend Bon Bini on Tuesday evening and the Carruban festival on Thursday evenings. We enjoyed the sunset catamaran cruise, the natural pool, and Casibari rock. Be sure to try the local Aruban dishes. Although there is a nice Hard Rock Cafe and plenty of other American restaurants, the local fare is great. My wife had an arm in a cast so we had to pass on snorkeling and parasailing. Pleasant surprises included excellent drinking water (keep a pitcher full in the refrigerator), the dollar was accepted everywhere, English was spoken by almost everyone, the McDonalds had English language Aruba newspapers, and the nearby mall had inexpensive first run movies. Aruba lives up to its motto, "one happy island". We will be back next year.

Aruba is known as 'One Happy Island'. In keeping with that theme, when we are not vacationing in Aruba and are back in Georgia, we invite others to stay in our villa at very attractive rates. This is our home and we expect our guests to treat it as they would their own. Since Aruba is beautiful all year round, our rates stay the same all year. We normally do not rent to singles under 25. No smoking and no pets, but children are welcome! - Billy Lochridge, Alpharetta, GA, Owner
