On the ground floor there is another double bedroom with ensuite and large light and airy sitting room and dinning room with many original paintings and artworks.

The sitting room has a large widescreen digital television with Sky TV and access to both French and English programs. It has a DVD and CD player and DVD and CD library. The kitchen is fully equipped with all modern conveniences ie dishwasher, refrigerator and microwave oven.

'Beaucele' is restful and cool in summer with the stonework and shutters and warm in winter with poele and electric heating.

'Beaucele' has two gardens one at the back nestled against the cliffs which is shady and private in summer and has outdoor dinning facilities and a portable BBQ. There is another garden at the side of the house overlooking the river which is perfect for your petit dejeuner in the mornings.

There is a private covered car port for your car.

Canoe base on Cele

We stayed in Beaucele for two week weeks in August. We wanted to canoe on the Cele and the location of the house was perfect for this. There were five of us in total, myself and four teenagers ranging from 13 to 17. We brought our own canoes, but there are many well organised businesses renting canoes for very reasonable prices including the transfer to your starting point, which might be a simpler way of doing this. Philippe kindly drove me back to where I had left the car at our starting point when we needed a lift. We were able to leave our canoes on the river bank right in front of the house. The house was perfect for us. Everything you could need, with no clutter. The washing machine and lines were invaluable with all our daily wet gear. The wifi coped with the multiple demands of four teenagers. The outside dining table, on its decking under the rock face was an amazing place to have candle lit meals in the evening. The location of the village and the house , with the cliff behind and river in front, is quite awesome and literally takes your breath away when you arrive. The house is south facing and so catches the light all day. Others have talked about the village, not mentioned is a small mini market which can provide your basic shopping needs. We had three good meals in the local restaurants in the village. We had a great holiday that really could not be faulted.

An Amazing Stay in a Fanatastic Hidden River Valley

Our stay a Phillip's house was a wonderful retreat from the bustling life of big cities and American work life. The house was well furnished and large with every amenity we could desire. It was a pleasure to stay in this small community of about 400 people with welcoming neighbors, multiple restaurants, a bustling boulangerie and a quiet river flowing through it. While we were only two people, it was clear that the house could accommodate several more guests in excellent fashion. The multiple bedrooms and bathrooms provide for easily shared accommodations. Phillip was always available if we had questions about the house or the community. We were absolutely delighted by the house, Phillip and his partner, and the community. Our stay was during one of the warmest periods of the year, but the house stayed cool during the day. The dry warm air cooled quickly at night to make sleeping completely comfortable. You might even need a jacket if dining late outside on the hottest days. One fantastic surprise was the complete lack of mosquitos in this village. We still haven't figured out how that can be in a river valley but greatly appreciated it. This river valley often draws water-loving tourists during the summer, but the house and the area surrounding it was never inundated with wandering crowds. Expect to see some hikers making the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage walk past the front of the house every day often hoping to stop at the Boulangerie a few hundred meters down the road. The village is also the home of the Pech Merle Cave and its prehistoric cave paintings. This is a must see for all. My wife an I would recommend this property to everyone who wants a wonderful stay in a small French village.

Beaucele, Cabrerets

A very pleasant week spent in a lovely house in a beautiful area, an ideal place to celebrate my 60th birthday with friends and family. We stayed for a week I only wish it had been two ! The house has plenty of space and well sized bedrooms and bathrooms , eating in the garden area is amazing with the dramatic cliffs as a backdrop. The pretty village has a small supermarket and Bakery, we eat out in the village a couple of times and we were not disappointed. If you enjoy walking, cycling, kayaking, sightseeing or just a bit of peace and quiet I would recommend Beaucele.

Perfect for a family holiday!!!

We stayed here for a week, and it's indeed a terrific place! Philippe and Anne are excellents hosts, very helpful and nice! The house is very roomy, we are a couple and met up with our parents; the house easily accommodated the 5 of us. The village is great! There is a VERY nice bakery, just half a km or so away, which was perfect for fresh croissants in the moring and yummy bread for lunch/dinner. We tried a few of the restaurants (Le Jardin, La Roue, O'Louise), which were all very nice, and within easy walking distance. There are markets (at least in summer!!) on a Friday morning, which were also very nice! The river Célé is perfect for canoeing, and the walking tracks could be explored for days. The proximity to Saint Cirq de Lapopie makes a visit very easy, and Rocamadour is only an hour or so away. We visited the Chateau de Cenevieres, Figeac, Cahors, Peche Merle... A very full week, which will be remembered for a long time!!! Many thanks to Philippe and Anne!

Wonderful experience!

We have just spent one week here and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Philippe and Ann are marvellous hosts who live just two doors away and are very welcoming and helpful. The house is spacious, beautifully restored & maintained, and everything you could wish for is provided. We were a family group of 4 - the house could easily accommodate at least 6 people. Cabrerets is a delightful and charming village with several good restaurants - we tried 3 and were more than satisfied. The astounding Pech Merle prehistoric caves are just a kilometre away if you take the hillside track, 3 km away by car. Nearby villages such as St Cirq and Rocamadour, and towns like Cahors and Figeac, are an easy drive away and highly recommended. Cabrerets is well located for tourism, and this house was a perfect base for us. There are many walking trails here, the river looks very enticing for canoeing and even swimming, although we did not have time for that. In short, I highly recommend anyone thinking of a holiday in this region to take advantage of a lovely home in a picturesque village - we rated the whole experience as a perfect holiday break.
