The fish and wildlife decor, wood stove, cast iron bed, loft, bar, kitchen lighting, and private location gave this cabin a really comfortable wilderness feeling. The property had plenty of movies, games and books to keep us busy. The area was very, very quiet and I slept really well both nights. There were plenty of towels, linens, dishes and silverware for all. The dirt road was fun to explore and had access to the creek and Table Rock Lake.
We had great time staying here! Cabin was clean and has a nice fresh cut lumber smell that I enjoyed. It is secluded, which is what we wanted, and the drive way to the cabin is fun for a 4x4 owner! If you want to stay in a cozy mountain cabin, then look no more, this is your place!
The owners were so great to work with abs answered all my questions promptly. Additionally, when we got on the road later than planned, and arrived after 9:30pm, Lorrie checked on us and made sure we made it in ok.
The cabin was amazing and so peaceful! The landscape was beautiful and fishing, hiking, sleeping in and sitting on the porch was great!
I'll definitely be returning... hoping for a longer trip next time.
Great place to unplug, but can still enjoy the nearby attractions. Property owner reacted promptly to remedy a minor issue we had with the gate. Our kids loved it and look forward to renting again in the summer. I will be also recommending this location to friends and family.
Great cabin in the woods, not too far from Branson
This cabin was a wonderful remote get away for our family. The directions to the property were easy to follow, the cabin was very tidy and well kept. The stairs are steep to the loft, but it was not a problem for us and our littles age 6 and 4. The gate at the top gave us added safety security. The "driveway" is rugged but definitely drive-able, we had no problems in our AWD Acura MDX. The kids had fun "hiking" down to the stream and exploring that area. We also drove into Branson a couple times which was only a 20-30 min drive. It really is the best of both worlds! Also it was so nice that the cabin was stocked with the essentials including coffee and filters (thank you!!) and they also had a great selection of DVDs and games, which we enjoyed as a family. We hope to be back in the summer months!!
Nestled in the woods. A very charming cabin away from all the hustle and bustle.
Branson was extremely close.
Lorrie answered all of our questions very promptly.
This is just the getaway we needed.

Very clean nice getaway..make sure you have 4 wheel drive vehicle
Very cute cabin that was close enough to Branson and yet, an isolated and quiet retreat. This was the perfect getaway for my kids and myself and would love to come back again soon.
This property was quaint and clean and so so sweet! I loved my stay here. It’s a bit out of the way, but that is exactly what I was looking for. I had all I needed and then some. And Lorie was amazing to work with! Very kind and accommodating.
We enjoyed our week in the cabin, it's very private and peaceful.

Rough drive
The cabin and owners were nice. The driveway however is awful. The listing says; “four wheel drive recommend” should say, required to rent. You need a full size SUV with good ground clearance, otherwise forget it. You can walk the driveway faster than drive it. We also scratched the heck out of our car, trim the brush back please. The cabin was nice but removed from activities such as Branson. The owners were accommodating as there was no way we would pull our bass boat up the drive, they let us store our trailer and boat at their marina at no charge. Due to the driveway issue and the cabin being too far from local activities we would not rent it again.
We had a great time staying at this cabin in the woods. We loved how secluded the location was and yet it is close to Branson and the Buffalo River. We hope to stay again in the future.

A True Cabin Experience
This cabin was exactly what my wife and I and another couple needed. We floated the buffalo and had steaks on the grill for dinner. Hummingbirds, Turkey, and whipperwirls serenaded us daily. We did not expect the amenities of the cabin as we climbed the private driveway, but to our content, the cabin has everything needed to be able to relax. Wonderful Home! Thank you!

Great Little Cabin in the woods.
This property is exactly as described in the ad. Pro's -- Complete Kitchen, amazing views, lots of wildlife, outdoor fire ring, gas bbq and a large deck. The owner kept us in the loop and the communication was very good. It's just outside of Branson if you get cabin fever. The lake down the street is beautiful.
Things to be aware of. As mentioned, 4X4 is recommended. The entrance to the drive is a bit tricky. The stairs to the 2nd floor resemble something a young boy would love in a tree house. But, they are steep so be mindful of toddlers or the elderly. There is a separate bedroom, but don't expect much privacy. The floor boards to the 1st floor are gapped and the bedroom door is just louvered. The bed upstairs is a full versus a queen mentioned. The shower is on the small side and you have to watch your supply of hot water.
We loved the wood burning stove, stash of DVD's & games and hiking near the lake. Coffee in the morning on the deck warmed my soul. Cooking as a family in the full Kitchen was helpful to save on eating out costs. The following changes could take the is place from 4 to 5 stars -- Sprial stair case, tankless water heater, T&G flooring upstairs and wood siding versus OSB on the interior walls. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and made some great memories as a family.

MUST HAVE 4-WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE TO ACCESS
I was unable to access the "driveway" for this property after committing to a month long stay. The opening of the path/driveway was a pile of gravel that had not been prepared for vehicles. We accessed the property when the owner came to "rescue" us and drove us up in his 4-wheel drive truck. The cabin is small and pretty much as described, but there was not working air conditioning. After a stressful night of tears, no sleep, no air, and no real access to property, owner said she would refund contract. (Which she has not made good on). We stayed one night and then moved out of the cabin, at the risk of not being refunded for a months rental. DO NOT rent this place unless you have a 4-Wheel drive vehicle that you don't mind damaging. Hopefully, they have repaired the air conditioning. There are many, many other properties that are in the Branson area that have much nicer amenities, and are also "rural" and "out of the way". The property is not nearly as enticing and relaxing as described. In contrast, I can't recall ever having as much anxiety as I experienced when I saw what was supposed to be a "driveway". I would not recommend Cricket Creek Cabins to any traveler.

About the host
Hosted by Mark & Lorrie Taylor
We have been involved with the music and tourism industries since arriving in the Branson area nearly 30 years ago. We have a business in town, and decided to move to the country. We have 5 grown children and a teenager, plus a dozen grandchildren and counting, so life is never boring for us!
Why they chose this property
We started out camping here and ended up with a cabin! We've always worked hard and needed a little place where we could get away. We loved it so much that we ended up building a home and moving just around the corner. We lived here most of the time while building, and still love it! Every time we stay we ask ourselves why don't we just move in? Great plan. Except there's no room for the piano!
What makes this property unique
Comfortable without being Luxury. This is a great place to unwind and forget your worries. Large enough for your family, but small enough to be cozy. Feel at home in the country.
