My wife, son and I spent a wonderful week at this lovely property. Claudia was exceptionally nice and very responsive. The house was just as advertised and perfect for our family. The location in Darlinghurst was extremely convenient, on a quiet street, with many restaurants nearby and within walking distance to key areas in Sydney. We highly recommend!
We are Canadians who had a wonderful time in Sydney and loved this super clean funky house. We walked everywhere (Sydney Opera House, Sydney Bridge, Hyde Park, Town Hall, etc) and so many cafes and restaurants nearby. It was great for our 3 boys and Claudia was accommodating (even had plug adapters for Canadians) and genuine.
We would love to stay this house again! 💜
Everything from start to finish with our stay here was wonderful! The check-in process was a breeze and Claudia was very responsive and welcoming. The property is so tastefully decorated and we could tell that there was a great deal of care put into this listing from the linens and snack/tea bar to the guest binder with interesting historical context of the neighborhood. We loved the location since it was in a quiet neighborhood, but close enough to walk around Sydney. We really enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend for anyone needing a place to stay in the Sydney area!
20-30 minute walk to most attractions from the home- Sydney Opera House, Botanic Gardens, ferries, most museums. Home was clean with pretty flowers and chocolates on arrival. Coffee shops close by in a historic neighborhood. We didn’t use the house much in the day since construction next door but can’t be helped. We would rent again on next visit.
Vacationing with family and looking for a place that is close enough to cbd that has all the amenities , and this place has all the amenities that we need . Situated in a non touristic area and only 15 min walk to cbd . Two bedrooms and bathroom on the first floor and living room and kitchen on the 2nd floor. Claudia, the host , is very responsive .
Great property and well located for our Citycation. Family was able to spread out and get our own spaces.
Host Claudia was very responsive and accomodating.
Highly recommend
Lovely modern 2 bed terrace set in an historic laneway that allows superb easy access to all Sydney CBD and surrounds has to offer. The property is immaculate with everything you need for a great long or short term stay. First class kitchen, bath and laundry. We enjoyed the outdoor terrace area. Claudia was an excellent hostess and very responsive to our queries. We appreciated allowing our indoor Kitty Mishka to also stay and the parking that was arranged for us. The terrace is walking distance to Hyde Park, Woolloomooloo, Botanic gardens, Opera House and even Darling Harbour, Barangaroo and the Harbour Bridge if you brought your walking boots. Stanley St with its fabulous eateries is around the corner with Oxford St, Crown and Bourke a stroll away. Thank you Claudia for providing such a wonderful temporary abode for us :-)
I would be very happy to return again.
Great little house in a gorgeous lane. The location was fantastic. We walked to cafes, shops, gardens and the house was light filled and really comfortable.
This is a terrific property- set up with everything you need. The roof terrace was great at night to cool down. The street is very quiet do despite being close to everything Darlinghurst had to offer we felt secluded. Just wonderful thanks Claudia.
We loved our stay in Woods Lane. Felt like a mix of sex and the city and staying in Italy with the cute little lane and rooftop views.
Easy walk to cafes and Pitt Street Mall.
Great space and comfy beds.
Great location for our needs to visit St Vincent's Private Hospital. Easy walking distance to many attractions and sights if you enjoy walking. Cafes and restaurants around the corners with great variety. Clean and fun playground close by. Comfortable beds, all things easy to use in the house, a very enjoyable stay with two children under 5.
My family and I were blown away by this property. We arrived late in the evening after a yucky day of traveling and were a little wary of the alleyway our Uber dropped us off in! A wariness that disappeared as soon as we stepped inside the amazing house. We loved the history of the place as outlined in the guide. And what Claudia has done with the modernization of the house is inspired. From the colored concrete walls to the marble bathroom to the ultra modern kitchen, you will feel extremely spoiled. The balcony was an amazing bonus, perfect for inhaling your morning coffee or sipping your evening wine. The sleeping arrangements were perfect for our family of 4 and the linens were plentiful and top notch. The biggest compliment came from our (typical, nonreactive, why am I even here?) 16 yr old son - “This place is super cool - I could live here!”. Enough said! Location wise Claudia’s place is also well situated to walk, or bus all over the city. We had an amazing 4 days and will definitely book again if we manage to get back to Sydney.
Great place for seeing all that Sydney has to offer
We consulted with folks that had lived in Sydney and they told us this property would be in a really great location to get to everything we would want in Sydney. They weren't kidding! Easy access to everywhere either by train or by bus, and there are a ton of amazing restaurants within a few hundred feet of your front door! The house isn't huge but worked well for our family of four (two teenage boys).
Great property and Claudia was so helpful and kind.
1st class and everything went smoothly.

old Sydney charm all while very modern
We stayed for a week and being right in the thick of Sydney, with great cafes and restaurants at a stones throw felt like being worlds away hidden away in pocket lane that had you thinking surely you are not in Sydney and then when on the veranda having a cuppa looking at the Sydney city skyline, yes sure enough you pinch your self and Sydney is your door step. The home is fully equipped and well appointed. Bright airy well maintained with attention to detail You will not come away dissatisfied what so ever from staying at this homely property

About the host
Hosted by Claudia Bacetic
I'm a financial services professional with a keen interest in travel and history. My favourite destinations are either off the beaten track (e.g. Tulum and Machu Picchu), remote (e.g. Kangaroo Island and Kakadu) or very urban (e.g. New York, New York!). I've lived in Sydney's inner East for the past 25 years and love the old terraces and the area's rich history. My husband and I currently own and manage two short-term rental properties – in Darlinghurst and Bondi Beach - and live halfway between them.
Why they chose this property
We bought this property because we love living within walking distance of the CBD and all its attractions but in a village atmosphere, surrounded by great restaurants, bars and cafes. The house is in a low-rise, heritage zone, steeped in history and very charming. It's newly renovated with all mod cons.
What makes this property unique
The house has a lovely deck where you can sit back with a G&T at the end of the day and look back on the city skyline.
