The cottage is in the middle of the very quiet Rossport island sanctuary on the bay with a view of a small island with nesting seabirds. There is a small trail around the property and a pond with waterlilies. I even came across an adolescent bald eagle that seemed to be fishing in the pond... Really a special, quiet getaway.
The kitchen was brand new and HUGE and the coffee and eggs were a nice touch. Lots of activities in Eastport to keep us entertained, including whalewatching, excellent affordable restaurants and beautiful architecture. Even in the dead of summer the weather was very comfortable here on the bay.
By design there is limited or no cell service, no phone, no internet at the cabin and no TV, although we did get a Verizon data card to work just fine by placing it by the window. There is wireless internet and laundry facilities at the large barn/main office on the property, which is a short walk away.
