Perfect place to relax
This is a beautiful property and the apartment is clean, comfortable and perfect for a relaxing get away. There is a beautiful loop trail that follows the river and then moves into forest by the pond and stream. There is lovely wildlife and beautiful sunsets on the river. Charlie the cat will greet you warmly on arrival as will the property owners. Inside they're us a very comfortable queen bed in the bedroom, a sweet kitchen that is perfectly functional, and a great living/dining room with very comfy seating along with a daybed. I highly recommend as a getaway for individuals and couples. If you have a small child they would be comfortable too.

Amazing location and stay
We had a wonderful weekend stay! Jackie's place is so cute, cozy and the location on the river couldn't be more beautiful. The fishing in the pond was amazing, the trail on the property and the riverfront relaxing was perfect. Close to all kinds of Chesapeake finds - Betterton Beach, Rock Hall, Chestertown, Eastern Neck. We will be back!

Fabulous fall getaway!!
We stayed at Jackie’s cozy getaway for our 15th year anniversary and it was perfect. Her place was clean, comfortable and the extra touches were the icing on top! Such a wonderful little corner of the beautiful eastern shore. We felt close to everything but also far enough away. Highly recommend!

Cute, Peaceful Place on the Water
The property is pretty secluded, which is nice for a little getaway. Be mindful of the animals that might cross your path, though, including deer and cats. We stayed during near-perfect fall weather and enjoyed the breezes the open windows brought in, so we are not sure how well heated/cooled it is in less-perfect weather. Our only suggestion is to bring your own drinking water, as the tap water is a bit sulfuric.

Relaxing family time
My brother, sister, and I had a lovely stay. The property is very nice and the apartment had everything we needed to cook all our meals and was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed fishing and birdwatching from the dock and star-gazing at night. The location was perfect to explore Eastern Neck NWR and historic Chestertown, and Betterton Beach was great for an evening picnic and swim. The hosts were always friendly and helpful. One note to visitors about the apartment, which is on the second floor. The steps were not a problem but there is no landing at the top when the door is closed. You just have to be mindful when coming and going. Thank you for a relaxing vacation!

Very peaceful and quiet yet close to Chestertown.
Great place to relax, fish and kayak. Great crab place nearby and ate on the picnic table. Dock is really nice and has great views. Took easy trips to Chestertown and Rock Hall. Plenty of room for couple with two adult children. Hosts were very nice. If you want to enjoy the river and not break the bank this is the place.

Stay at Ford’s Landing Farm
My wife and I stayed at the property for 23 days. We found it well stocked and containing just about anything we might need. We enjoyed being close to the water and watching birds and sunsets, and we enjoyed the friendliness of the Sweetack family. We liked it so much we booked it for a longer period next summer!

Had a great week staying on the quiet farm property. Was centrally located to visit DC, bike on several islands on Chesapeake Bay, and explore Maryland. Enjoyed kayaking on the river right on the property. Apartment was very clean and homeowners were available to answer any questions.

Paradise on the Chester River!
We have never experienced such a serene and peaceful place in our nearly two years of travelling around this country! The view out the windows overlooking the river are spectacular...taking in both sunrise and sunset delights! With wildlife activity galore...and the air filled with the songs of birds from just before dawn...catching sight of 44 different species in our extended stay here! There are lovely walks through the ever-changing woods too...we were able to witness Spring unfold here...again...an absolute JOY!

Tranquil and convenient to D.C. and Philadelphia
There were 3 of us on this visit, my wife, sister-in-law and myself. The property is best for a couple, but certainly workable for more. The apartment is clean and comfortable. Jackie and Drew (owners) are very accommodating - providing fresh eggs from their chickens and fire wood for their large fire pit. This section of the river is very secluded and private. As noted, they provide kayaks, a canoe and paddle boards, but we mostly tied tubes off the dock and floated. They outdoor furniture is of high quality and comfortable. FYI, there is a farmers market on Saturdays in Chestertown - about 15 minutes away. Very nice. Everyone is wearing masks, which was reassuring. Visit Evergrain. Ask Jackie for the name of the one pastry she likes - it was yummy. Also, go to Billy's Crabs about 10 minutes away. They are large and cheap compared to D.C. prices.

Perfect getaway for COVID times!
This charming farm apartment overlooking the Chester River was everything we hoped for. My husband loved taking photos of wildlife from the dock - we saw bald eagles, osprey, herons, raccoon, red fox, black buzzards...and hummingbirds thanks to Jackie’s feeders! Our neighbors (the chickens!) provided fabulous fresh eggs and we used the canoe to explore the river. Only a 15 minute drive to historic Chestertown with its delicious bakery and (my fave) used bookstore complete with store cat.

Beautiful property right on the river
My wife and I spent a long weekend here after months of being cooped up at home. The apartment is private and above a garage on a large, well-maintained, and very beautiful farm property right on the Chester River. We spent two days relaxing by the river, kayaking and sun bathing, during which we saw many herons and bald eagles that nest in the trees on the north side of the river. The third day we spent hiking in a nearby state park, which was also very pleasant. The owners were on the farm the entire time and very amenable, greeting us and offering us recommendations. There are many historic towns within 30 miles or so of the farm - Chestertown is a gem, a very charming place with a preserved colonial memory and very walkable town center. This proved to be an excellent escape from our COVID isolation - a lovely part of Maryland farm country we’ve never before had an opportunity to explore. Thanks to Jackie and her husband for making it available and sharing their lovely place with us!

Beautiful stay on the Chester River
Check in was a breeze and the owners came out to greet us when we arrived. They were very friendly and provided great local recommendations- including where to get some crabs at a very reasonable price. Besides this first interaction, we had privacy as they were gone during the entire day. We spent time kayaking, hiking, and floating on the river (bring your own tubes). We spotted numerous hawks and eagles, and even got to see eagles dive into the river to hunt for food. The apartment is well maintained and meet our needs for a mostly outside vacation.
