We planned a weekend mother/daughter getaway for my daughter’s 18th birthday. Hiking, Broadway for supper and then running a 5K the next morning. This cabin was the perfect place to land for some rest and relaxation. The farm is gorgeous and the property manager is amazing.
My family and I stayed here for my daughter’s PGF softball tournament. The field was literally 5mins down the road and we setup a net at the house so we could hit before the games and warm up her arm.. Dixie the horse and the chickens were the first people to greet u.. We only stayed 5 days and wish we booked more .. We had a couple issue at the house and they fixed them the minute we made a call.. Thank you Holly so much and it was a well needed trip for us..
Perfect! Holly described details of the property & it is just as described & in the photos. We got farm fresh eggs for our breakfast & met the dogs, fed the horses. So quiet, peaceful. The only negative is when the morning comes the sun shines bright in your eyes from the large window that faces East. But aside from waking with the sun our stay was amazing
Everything was as described. It was a great getaway for my wife and I for our anniversary. The gas fireplace was great. Overall it was very cozy! I wish we were able to stay longer, but we hope to return again soon and with carrots to feed Dixie!
We loved the setting, but as 75 year olds we had a little difficulty pulling luggage over the poorly lighted and wet road and grass and stone walkway to Cabin 1. Once inside there was no place to open a suitcase without pulling it up the stairs to a dormer ceiling. We were so cold - the little heater was inadequate and the floors were like ice. We had no instructions for turning on the fireplace. If we wanted to cook the eggs for breakfast, the stovetop was covered with a board with things on top of it. If we wanted to move the board, there was no place to set it. We would like to come back and stay in a different cabin.
This place truly felt like a Christmas dream come true. Decorated and everything when we got there! It was perfect for the 4 of us. We opened presents by the Christmas tree with our adult children who live in Columbia and got to snuggle our brand new grand baby by the fireplace. It gave us all that Hallmark movie “warm fuzzy” journey to the past, home away from home feel.
I hope our family can make the Muletown Farm a part of our history year after year!
Wonderful, peaceful place to stay!
Had everything and more to feel at home during our stay. Sat around the fire pit with a roaring fire and enjoyed each others company. Would love to come back to stay again!
My 4th stay at Muletown Farm. My go to place away from it all when back visiting middle Tennessee. Always peaceful and relaxing. Thank y’all for another wonderful stay! God Bless!
Very peaceful atmosphere with character. We enjoyed our stay at the cabin and appreciated being able to walk and enjoy the property. The cabin has everything you need plus the ac was a life saver as temps neared triple digits. It was always cool and comfortable when we returned from our hikes to all the local waterfalls within a short drive. We will definitely book again if we return to the area!
Very nice early 1800 era cabin with tons of history. Its been somewhat modernized but still feels like the old cabin it is. The surrounding grounds where nice to walk around and visit with horses, chickens and turkey
My daughter and I had a quick overnight away and enjoyed our time at the cabin. All the comforts of home and the hospitality shown by the owners was great! Would highly recommend and hope to return soon!
My family stayed at all three properties on the farm for a wedding in town and we all enjoyed our stay. My husband, stepdaughter, and I stayed in the cabin. It was perfect for three. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.
We truly enjoyed our stay on the farm. Very quaint and quiet. Just what we needed.
We purchased every jar of jam they had set out and enjoyed the fire pit out front our last night.
Thanks to the owners for their hospitality.
4 "mamas" enjoyed the farmhouse and peaceful setting just 10min from downtown Columbia. Owner was very responsive and provided check in and "what to expect" details 2weeks prior to our arrival, so gave us plenty of time to pack and prepare for our trip. Farmhouse was very clean and had everything we needed. Loved seeing the chickens and horses on the property. So happy we got to experience this piece of history and that the owners took on this renovation challenge!
This cabin was the cutest thing in person, it has ample space inside and my husband and I were able to relax and enjoy ourselves on our first trip without kids in 5 years! We did talk about how much the kids would have loved the farm and hope to bring them some day in the future. Thank you to our host for providing such a unique and picturesque spot away from the hustle of the city for people to relax!
This place is awesome. I stayed in Crockett’s cabin. It’s super old and rustic, but Holly did a great job with making it comfortable. Bathroom is clean and inviting, bedding is all very nice, furniture is well maintained and nice. It’s a very comfortable stay while still having that rustic feel. I loved it.
My husband and I, our two daughters, and our golden doodle enjoyed a little getaway to this peaceful farm. Our girls really enjoyed feeding apples and carrots to the two horses. The cabin is cutely decorated and a nice place to relax and take a breath!
It was perfect for a girl’s night and the space was warm and cozy on a cold winter night.

Hey there! Back in 2017, our family, the Browns, became the proud owners of our 32-acre farm. It's been a wonderful retreat for us, providing a peaceful getaway from the busyness of life and offering a place for relaxation and connection. We are happy to share that with you, our guests. We hope you love it as much as we do!
Why they chose this property
This farm was settled between 1808 and 1812 and originally belonged to Colonel Grant, as a gift from George Washington. The property changed hands over the years and eventually fell into disrepair. We were captivated by its history and decided to update and repair it as a working hobby farm. Our goal is to provide a place for people to relax, connect with each other, nature, and God. Join us on our farm journey and enjoy your stay.
What makes this property unique
Stay in a charming Tennessee farm near Nashville, Franklin, and Columbia, and enjoy the best of both city life and the countryside. The cabin has been modernized while preserving its rustic farm appeal.
