Metrell was the perfect hostess! Every detail was attended to - from special Nola coffee, to a fresh rose to welcome us. We communicated several times leading up to our stay, and each time we got to know a little more about the wonderful lady who was our host! She left messages of congratulations for our daughter's wedding and suggestions for great places to eat or visit. Every single suggestion was exactly as she described it and precisely what we were looking for, including places to eat, where to shop, and even where to find extra towels in the house! "Open the cupboards and find what you need, or if you don't see it, let me know and I'll tell you where it is or get it for you." We have never been so blessed when visiting a new city, and Metrell put us at ease immediately. After an incredibly rainy day, we trudged back from wedding details, and she stopped in and gave us freshly cooked shrimp, "Because I knew y'all would need a pick-me-up!"
The house afforded us the privacy and quiet we needed after sight-seeing or wedding prep - ample room for all of us, two bathrooms, a quiet street and a lovely back porch area to enjoy seafood and conversation. The beds were extremely comfortable and every amenity was thought of, in case we forgot something. And every room had Metrell's special touch - a little taste of New Orleans - from beautiful paintings, to the fleur di lis, to the beautiful wine glasses. What a wonderful, welcoming atmosphere!.Even our oldest son, who doesn't say much about his surroundings when we travel, was totally smitten - he wants to move there!
Thank you, Vrbo, and THANK YOU Metrell! We WILL be back!!
Love, The Ganters
