Welcome to ‘Hughes Maui Condo #1’ – ground floor unit #113 of Building 10 at the Kamaole Sands Resort. This is a beautifully renovated 1 bedroom condo with 2 full bathrooms and very nice furnishings and local art throughout. We are fortunate to also own another 1 bedroom unit in the same building (see listing 995556) in case an additional unit is needed.

This unit has a beautiful ocean view from the covered extra-large ground-floor lanai and is just 100 yards from the Kamaole 3 beach; one of the best and most beautiful beaches in the world! There you will find great snorkeling, swimming, paddle boarding, boogie boarding, and sunbathing. Building 10 is highly desirable and not only has beautiful views of the inner courtyard, fountains, and ocean, but is *the closest* building to the beautiful Kamaole 3 beach; it is just as close to the beach as it is to the pool!

We limit our one-bedroom condo to a maximum of 2 adults. The condo is a spacious 818 sq. feet (76 sq. meters) not including the 166 sq. foot extra-large lanai. The renovated unit includes all stainless-steel kitchen appliances, kitchen cabinets, counter tops, bathroom vanities, beautiful new tile floors throughout, and much more. You'll love our new bedroom suite, California King bed with a premium mattress, distinctive Plantation shutters, 32” flat screen TV, and A/C. We also have a large capacity Whirlpool Duet washer/dryer stack. With the recent fiber optic upgrade, you can enjoy free ultra-fast (>300Mbps) wireless internet in the unit and on our extra-large lanai. The kitchen and hallway bathroom were fully remodeled in 2021 and we had a split AC system installed in the bedroom and living room in 2023.

This Kamaole Sands complex has the rare combination of a great pool, great tennis and pickleball courts, and a great location. World-class golf awaits you within minutes at the Wailea and Makena golf courses or via a short drive to many other courses including Kapalua Plantation and Kaanapali. World-class surfing is also nearby. This unit is a short walk to several restaurants, bars, and small shops. It is located near the Shops of Wailea and exquisite island dining. The Kihei boat ramp and daily trips to Molokini are just a short walk from the unit. Please read our reviews and see why our condo is an all-around great choice!

Perfect location, the beach is right across the street and its probably the best in the area. Literally everything you could need in the room was there. Best Place We've Stayed!

We’ve been coming to Maui for the last 20 plus years about every year and a half, this is the best placed we’ve stayed. Below are some suggestions for your stay. 1. When you arrive check out all the draws and cupboards to discover all tbe goodies in the condo 2. The front door can stay open, leave it open and open the bedroom windows and lanai screen door to get a really nice breeze running through the condo. 3. We only used the air conditioning in the leaving room once and used the air conditioning in the bedroom when we could not get a breeze through the bedroom window and the nights we quiet for us. 4. The drainage in the kitchen sink is slow, do not run the tap all the way up because water will back up in the sink. 5. Don’t feed the chicken and birds that will visit you on the lanai, they will end up not leaving you alone. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!

We love Kamaole Sands

This condo was more than expected. Clean, well stocked, with updated kitchen and bathroom. We loved the location--Just a couple minutes to walk to the beach. Centrally located in Maui to enjoy all parts of the island. Extremely easy check in process and communication with owners for check in and check out details was simple and detailed. The BEST unit at kamaole Sands

Husband and I enjoyed our stay. Wonderful unit with all amenities and more. The grounds are clean and the location for our first Maui trip were pefect. We could not have asked for more. The unit was stocked with everything needed, and the welcoming gifts were much appreciated! Highly recommend staying in this condo. The building is perfectly located and the best one on the property. So Relaxing

This is our second stay in this particular unit at Kamaole Sands and by far the nicest unit we have stayed at. Everything you need is readily available, be it in the kitchen, bathroom or supplies for the beach. The lanai is great for entertaining and we loved the little light on the lanai table!!!! Felt like home

The bed was very comfortable, we really liked having two separate bathrooms. The kitchen was very well equipped and had just about every gadget you could think of. The quality of the amenities was excellent. Bob and Lindy were very attentive and checked in with us to ensure everything was okay. The welcome goodies were a nice touch. I would recommend staying here.

Home away from home

Well organized, decorated, and comfortable. The kitchen and bathrooms have all the amenities one might need, even though we packed in everything because other places are not so accommodating. Washer and dryer in the condo made our stay even nicer. Patio has a table with 4 chairs and a chaise. It overlooks several fountains and 2 lagoons. Fountains automatically turn off at night to prevent sleep disturbance. Our hosts even provided welcoming gifts. Soooo thoughtful. Any problems will be dealt with immediately as the owner stay much of the year in the same complex, which is very comforting.

Fabulous Stay

We are regular Maui visitors and thus has been the best condo we have stayed in. Super clean, comfortable and well equipped kitchen. Having nice beach chairs and an umbrella were an added perk we thoroughly enjoyed. Bob and Lindy care about their guests and have a beautiful condo. We will definitely stay again! Perfect Vacation

This home was just as listed. Clean and had more than enough space and amenities. View from the lanai was beautiful and the walk to the beach was literally 3 mins across the street. Check in was a breeze and the front desk gave great directions and tips on where to enter for convenience. We had no issues. Wifi was available. The instructions given by the owners were thorough and on point. When we travel to Maui again we won’t hesitate to check availability here first. :-)

Perfect vacation rental

The only thing better than the location of this rental (a few steps from a gorgeous beach, Kamole) were the amenities included. The rental was stocked with everything you might need for any activity in Maui. For example, if you want to go to the beach, there are umbrellas, chairs, towels, sunscreen, snorkel gear and so much more. the kitchen is fully stocked, probably better equipped than my own kitchen with state of the art appliances and quality utensils, pots and pans. Everything we forgot or planned to get on the island was already available to us in the apartment. Bob was very responsive and honest. I would recommend this unit to anyone visiting Maui, and would stay here again.

Beautiful Condo

This condo was very clean, nicely decorated, and in a great location. The owners were easy to reach, caring, and helped us with our inquiries. We loved the on site hot tub, BBQ, :) and the local beach was beautiful. Thanks for the beach chairs, umbrella, and warm welcome treats -- they were yummy. The A/C was loud in the bedroom and living room which made watching TV and sleeping a little challenging. We often opted to turn it off in the bedroom, keep the fan on and open the window, but it got very warm and uncomfortable some nights. I'm not sure if the A/C units need maintenance. The bed was very comfortable though. We have Maui in our hearts and prayers and hope to return someday to see and experience the island in the way we had hoped. Thank-you, Janis and Tom

Fantastic condo in paradise!

This is a beautiful, updated condo. The bathrooms and kitchen are fantastic, and the floor plan feels very spacious and comfortable. The hosts are fantastic as well. They have the lanai closet stocked and ready for a short walk to Kamaole Beach Park. This feels like a home away from home but better: stocked kitchen and laundry, but you have a Hawaiian beach and sunset at your finger tips, and a separate bathroom for your spouse ;) We cannot wait to return!

Aloha! We are Lindy and Bob Hughes and are the proud owners of this beautiful Maui condo. We were lucky enough to purchase this unit from the Boone family in 2013. When we discovered this unit, we immediately fell in love with it and we know you will too. Lindy and her family have very deep roots in Hawaii. Maui is especially close to her heart since this is where her parents met as High School sweethearts before eventually moving to Honolulu where Lindy was born. Maui was also our honeymoon choice and we share a deep love for this island. Today we have two daughters and three sons and live in Portland, Oregon. Our guests benefit from our almost 20 years of experience as customers of HomeAway/Vrbo and we strive to provide all of our guests with a truly wonderful and comfortable experience as if the condo is an extension of their own home. Why they chose this property

We have vacationed many times in Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island, but love Maui and the Kihei / Wailea region the most. We love the many beautiful beaches on this side of the island where it tends to be sunnier and less crowded than west Maui. We enjoy the many quirky bars and restaurants and small shops on South Kihei Road that are a short walk from our condo. We have always been very impressed with the manicured grounds of the 15-acre Kamaole Sands Resort and the helpful and friendly staff who take great care of the complex. The walls, floors and ceilings of the buildings in this complex are concrete with tile rooftops and this high-quality construction keeps the units quiet and comfortable. We also love that we are so close to Wailea for shopping and fine dining. Kamaole Sands is just 20 minutes from many other shopping opportunities in Kahului as well as the conveniently located international airport. This is a great all-around location that we are very proud of!

What makes this property unique

Most of all, we love being so close to the beautiful Kamaole 2 and 3 Beaches. As often as we can, we walk 3 minutes down to the beach to watch the sunset. In the wintertime, whales really put on a show right in your own backyard! Take a swim or go snorkeling off our beach, and you can swim with the turtles and triggerfish! You have many choices for fantastic local dining in Kihei/Wailea, or if you want, you can grill outside a short walk from the lanai. And, with our modern and well-stocked kitchen, cooking in the condo and eating on the ground floor lanai is a real treat! We absolutely love to sit out on the large lanai and enjoy the beautiful fountains, beautiful park-like setting and ponds, and amazing ocean view – we feel that this location has it all!
