About this property

Historic Farmhouse in Wayne

Recently updated, the home sits on two acres of land and is part of a neighborhood known as Colonial Village. The home seamlessly blends the comfort and style of modern amenities with the simplicity and craftsmanship of the original 1700s farmhouse. Over the years, the home has been expanded and, more recently, fully renovated. Warm, welcoming, and well-suited for today’s lifestyle, the 5-bedroom 4 bath home includes two master bedrooms with baths (one on the first floor), a family room in what was the original 1700's kitchen as well as an inviting living room, dining room, office, and eat-in kitchen with contemporary appliances. A covered front-porch and rear stone patio invite guests to relax and enjoy the natural beauty surrounding the home. Like many historic properties built before the advent the automobile, our home does sit close to the road. Our front porch looks across at 12 acres of woods and a stream!

Five minutes to the Devon Horse Show grounds, Devon Yards, Cabrini and Eastern Colleges, the King of Prussia Mall, the center of Wayne (and train station to Philadelphia.) Ten Minutes to Villanova and Valley Forge National Park. Thirty minutes to Center City and Philadelphia International airport (fifty minutes during rush hour.)

My background is in hotel, food and hospitality. We hope to provide you with everything you will need for your stay.
Guests will have full access to the house and grounds with the exception of the garage. We live close by and will be available during your stay.

Note: 2 televisions have been added to the house since the pictures were taken. One in the upper and lower living/family room spaces.

No events or parties at the home. This includes but is not limited to, bridal parties getting ready at the home, weddings, rehearsal dinners, showers, brunches, graduation events, birthdays, end of life celebrations.

Interesting and Relaxing
This is one of the most charming homes I've rented. The home has a living history that draws you in. It's located minutes from any thing KOP has to offer. If you're staying in this area with a larger group I highly recommend this facility.

Perfect home for a group of friends
Kate thought of every detail. After a long trip, it was great to have coffee and cream for the morning so that we did not have to go to the store right away (even though Whole Foods is less than 10 minutes away). She even left a homemade loaf of bread for us to enjoy. Everything was spotless, the kitchen is more than well-equipped and the beds were comfortable. Although it is near the road, it was peaceful and quiet every evening and we all got a great night's sleep. It is dangerously (lol!) close to the King of Prussia Mall, and we did venture over there several times for meals and shopping. Everything you need is very convenient, but you still feel away from it all at her home. We will certainly book this home again when our travels bring us to the area.

Cozy family weekend
Kate’s home is a beautiful and cozy. We all had plenty of space to relax after a busy family celebration weekend. We enjoyed learning about the history of the farm and farmhouse. The home is very well stocked with everything you’d need or forgot to bring! We will definitely return when we are back in the Philadelphia area.

Family Christmas vacation
Perfect. If I had any complaints, it would be that it didn’t have any king size beds. Otherwise it was perfect. Plenty of condiments. Lots of fun nooks for the kids to play hide n seek. Loved the cozy living room with fireplace. Love the history. Very clean. It was as if you were actually in someone’s home. Neat clean and even had jigsaw puzzles to put together. It was a wonderful experience.

Historic Farmhouse that is also very comfortable
As someone who tries to stay at historic properties when possible, I am prepared to accept the typical inconveniences: inadequate light, inadequate mirrors, cramped spaces, drafty rooms, windows that don't keep out noise, etc I can say that you won't find any of these problems here. This house has been remarkably well restored. Our group of 6 had more than enough space. Although we did not cook, the kitchen is spacious and is well stocked. On top of this, the host was very friendly and welcoming

Wonderful house in a great location!
Six college friends gathered for a 50 year+ college reunion. The house was perfect. We had space enough to enjoy leisurely breakfasts in a well stocked kitchen; room enough for everyone to have their own comfortable bedroom; and a location that allowed for access to interesting places to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Kate is a gracious host. Thanks so much!!

The Farmhouse is Fantastic
Our family of 5 adults had a wonderful weekend stay at this home. The location is excellent, with anything you could need just a short drive away. Our arrival after dark was seamless, with the house well-lit and treats to welcome us. This is a charming home, lovingly cared for. We enjoyed learning about the history of the property through Kate’s description and photos. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out and find a few minutes of privacy when needed. The beds are very comfortable, and we appreciated the feather pillows, thick towels, and cozy throws in all the right places. It’s clear that a great deal of thought has been put into anticipating guests’ needs and wants - thank you so much! We’ll look forward to another stay the next time we come back to visit our extended family.

An incredible spot!
The home was very clean, had a ton of historic charm, and was stocked with anything we could possible need. There were bedrooms on all 3 floors, which helped for privacy and noise level, as we had multi-generations, ranging from twin 3 year olds to grandparents in their 60s. We would definitely rent this property again!

2nd Visit - Still our family favorite
We initially stayed at this historic farmhouse about 6 months ago, as a place for my family to gather while attending a wedding in nearby Phoenixville. We all just fell in love with the house, and decided to make a 2nd trip! I can't say enough about the home or about Kate's wonderful hospitality. The house is 200+ years old, and is bursting with history, with countless cubby holes and unique features that you just don't see in current builds. Despite it's historic vintage, the home also boasts every modern convenience one could hope for. The kitchen is unusually well stocked with any modern gadget or appliance you could possibly want. In addition, there were wonderful perks and surprises supplied by Kate that made the trip extra special. The bedrooms are very roomy, and very comfortable. Towels were very plush, and there seemed to be more than enough shampoo, soap, and bathroom tissue to last a year. The fireplaces, fully stocked with firewood, was a welcome surprise. Sitting with family in front of a fire after a cold day at Valley Forge was extra special. The yard is huge, and we could see a number of deer roaming around the backyard. There is plenty to see and do within a short drive. Valley Forge National Park is nearby, and definitely worth a visit. Downtown Phoenixville has plenty of wonderful restaurants and shops, and a very pleasant way to spend a day. I can say that after our 2nd fantastic visit to the home, we are already thinking about our 3rd trip.

Army / Navy game
A small group of us rented this property for the Army / Navy game in Philly. The house is absolutely beautiful. The rooms were big and we had lots of room for everyone. We really enjoyed the extra large fireplace on the bottom floor every evening, so comfy and warm. My shower had the best water pressure ever!! Our host Kate was awesome!! We were greeted with homemade bread which was wonderful. The house was located very near the King of Prussia mall. We also visited Longwood Gardens, Peddler's village and did some sightseeing in downtown Philly. I highly recommend staying here! Kate thought of everything and the house had anything you could ever need. Sure hope we get to visit and stay here again!

The universe came together for us
We were sooo lucky to have been able to rent this property these last few nights. Our family of 10 were very comfortable. The house is every bit as charming in real life as the pictures depict and every detail was attended to. 5 Stars all the way.

Perfect for Families
We stayed here with our daughter, son, their spouses and their young ones (ages 2-7) for our youngest daughter’s wedding nearby. There was ample room for everyone (6 adults and 3 children) The beds are comfortable, with plenty of bathrooms, a well appointed kitchen, and several areas for groups to gather. (Living rooms, porches, dining room, kitchen table) This is a historical property with furnishings and decor to reflect that. Despite that being the case, the property felt warm and inviting and was spotless. The neighborhood is beautiful and close to whatever you need (grocery, convenience, gas, mall, and even a Tesla super charger). Kate was quick to respond to any texts with helpful information and truly made us felt welcome to “use” the home.

Perfect family house. 11 on a scale of 1 -10
My family and I have stayed at quite a few VRBO properties over the last 5-6 years, and this was our favorite. The house is a beautifully maintained 1780 farmhouse, with all the modern conveniences one could want. Kate, the owner, was just amazing to work with. There was delicious pumpkin bread waiting for us on arrival, a bottle of wine, even coffee with creamer, butter, and other staples to start us off in the fridge. The kitchen was well equipped, and every room had unique decorations, paintings, and surprises everywhere. Beds were extremely comfortable, with plush towels, soap and shampoo dispensers in every bathroom, etc. Any of those things would have made our stay special, but the real star was probably the house itself. Soooo many nooks and crannies, with tons of history throughout. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out, with lots of common areas and sitting areas for everyone to get together, both inside and outside the house. It is located in a gorgeous residential neighborhood, with many similarly beautiful homes. The backyard is likewise huge and inviting. We saw several deer walking around the backyard. Short drive to Valley Forge, beautiful downtown Phoenixville, and so much more. We chose the house for a family wedding in the area, but enjoyed the house and the area so much that we will probably return just to get together again.

Beautiful historic farmhouse
My family (ages 9 months- 87yrs) stayed in this large, beautiful historic home for the weekend! The home was large enough ( 4 levels) for all to spread out and then come together for meals! The setting is gorgeous with deer walking thru the yard! The home was stocked with everything we needed and then extras that added that special touch! The town of Wayne was close with stores and restaurants! I highly recommend this home, if you are staying in the area!
