Villages of Crystal Beach is an exclusive, gated community only a few blocks from the beautiful blue waters and white sandy beaches of Destin. You can make the walk on foot or hop on the free seasonal trolley service (Memorial Day through Labor Day): they will even pick you up at the house and drop you off right at the beach! The pool area at Villages of Crystal Beach is a vacation must! The lagoon style zero entry pool is 30,000 square feet of gorgeous, sparkling clear water. There is a spa, tropical landscaping, and plenty of seating areas. It also has surround sound, a flat screen TV, and a grilling area to help you relax and unwind.

Please note that there are parking restrictions within the Villages of Crystal Beach. There are two parking spaces available in the driveway of the home. Trailers, RV's, boats, golf carts, and motorcycles are not allowed within the community gates; alternate parking arrangements will need to be made for these items.

Area Attractions:

It's a terrific residential area, yet close to restaurants and activities in Destin. Walk to the beach, or hop on the free, seasonal trolley, running from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Walk to restaurants or shopping areas.

Close by is Destin Commons, a beautifully landscaped, pedestrian-friendly area and a great family venue where children will love to play in the interactive water fountains. Also, for the younger guests, a nautically/pirate themed outdoor playground features a 1,750 square foot soft play area with various creatures from the sea, slides, and a treasure chest! Destin Commons also has a mini train for the kids. Destin Commons features over 75 shops and restaurants, including Godiva Chocolates, AMC Movie Theaters and Bass Pro Shop.

If you are near Miramar Beach, the snorkelers in your group will love the new artificial reef called Dolphin Reef, deployed in 2017. Located just 685 feet straight out from the Miramar Regional Public Beach access (by Pompano Joe's), it is becoming a haven for sea life. Each of the 4 snorkeling reefs comprises 40 acres of permitted sea bottom. The Dolphin Reef is at a depth of 12-20 feet. We strongly recommend that snorkelers use a kayak, paddleboard, or other flotation device when visiting the snorkel reefs. Sea conditions can and do change quickly and often. Enjoy!

The house is in a great location and was convenient to everything in Destin. We had an issue with the Internet and the Sevice staff arrived within an hour of calling. That was impressive.

Nice house, clean. Good location with lots to do and easy to walk to beach. Pool is only negative as it seems its upkeep isnt 100% and theres 100 kids running around unattended.

Great place to relax-close to everything!

We loved staying at the Tahitian Paradise. It is beautiful. Everything was clean when we arrived and just as pictured . The location is great because it is close to everything. About an 8 minute walk to the beach and shopping and restaurants all around the community. The kitchen could use a hand mixer and another kitchen towel ( there was only 1). Also, the upstairs bedrooms need a little more light. Bathrooms had plenty of towels and washcloths. We felt safe in the community and enjoyed using the hot tub. We would recommend to others!

Nice!!

Bring your own trash bags and tissue and WiFi. Our WiFi didn’t work for the 1st night. I found the router and unplugged it and plugged it back up. It worked after that. But a nice property. The upstairs master bedroom needs a new mattress. Sinks down too much... I would recommend it! The home and neighborhood is awesome overall.

Needs some TLC

This house is fine but I would never book it again, especially for a beach vacation. First and foremost, the decor is not what you want in a beach location. It was more like staying in a monastery than a beach house. Very dark and gothic. Little things throughout that need attention, such as dead lightbulbs, non-functional ice maker, couldn’t connect to wifi, broken handle on fridge (which, according to reviews has been a problem since 2019), visible stains on bedding, no wastebaskets in bathrooms, a bed that made tons of noise when you moved even slightly (forget doing anything but sleep), very rickety bunk beds, no shelves in showers, NO HOT WATER (which also seems to be an ongoing problem). This was the biggest problem, as we were there for a funeral. Only two of the eight people in our group got hot water, and no one took over five minutes, as time was an issue. There was also an interesting smell that permeated every room and did not fade throughout the weekend. I realize that this is a rental so there will always be issues, but I was a little embarrassed to be the one who booked this place for my extended family. To RealJoy’s credit, they did respond to my message quickly but we weren’t there long enough to make it worth them coming out. Also, the ice maker, hot water and fridge handles seem to be ongoing and I shouldn’t have to contact them during our stay to handle things they clearly already know about. The pool was cool and very easy to access.

Inaccurate Listing on VRBO

Very stressful experience. We traveled 15 hours and parked our small Class C RV in front of our condo. We have a child with back issues so RV was necessary for travel. I contacted Real Joy ahead of time about parking on site. (VRBO description only listed motorcycles, trailers and boats as prohibited on site.) Checked measurement of driveway with Real Joy employee PRIOR to trip. All good. Small RV was parked within driveway space, no generator, no power for two nights. No problem. Third night we were asked to leave at 11pm by HOA employee making rounds. Ruined rest of vacation. Husband drove around for two hours in the middle of the night looking for somewhere to park RV. Had to cancel excursion plans on Thursday. Finally able to park RV at Henderson State Park the next day. Ubered rest of trip. Real Joy was very nice on phone, but basically nothing they could do. They did offer to let us park at their office, but we had already paid for park location. We would have never brought RV from Texas if it was not allowed or approved prior. HOA did not care. HOA said tow company could come in middle of night and had free rein of neighborhood. Very stressful experience. VRBO description needs to be updated and communication between rental company and HOA needs to be improved.

Overall good property

We rented this house for a family vacation. The house was perfect size for all 8 of us. We loved that the master bedroom was downstairs so the kids had the whole upstairs to theirselves. The biggest issue we had was there was never enough hot water. We were able to get one shower before it ran out. We all took turns taking cold shower. The owner needs to upgrade the water heater to accommodate for this many guests. The other issue we had was the limited space on the public beach. It is small and crowded. You can rent beach chairs and an umbrella for $60 on the private beach next to it. We did opt to do this one day to give ourselves more space to spread out. The condo has a shuttle that will take you to and from the beach. Get there early if you want a good spot. The pool was fantastic and our kids loved it!

A good location for beach access

The unit was in a good location for access to the beach and shopping. The pool was great and hot tub was nice when you could get in it. It’s way undersized for the capacity of the complex. The unit was in need of some basic maintenance. This would’ve made the stay more enjoyable. The washer and dryer both broke during the stay. The washer was fixed but the dryer was not repairable. Laundry service was given at no cost. The lights had missing bulbs and the unit was very dark. The hot water was not adequate for 10 people. The toilets had flushing issues and no key for the mailbox where my package was delivered. Lots of little things where frustrating for the premium price we paid. I’m hoping for a conversation With the management to talk through the issues.

Beautiful Home

The home was beautiful, and the personnel that were working on the property were very nice and personable. The only downside that I saw with this unit was the water heater did not last long at all, which was a shame because the walk in showers looked amazing, and the refrigerator took almost 3 days to freeze and ice pack for my cooler. Other than that the unit was absolutely amazing and the property was beautiful and kid friendly. We would definitely recommend these rentals to family and friends and will certainly be back.
