Lovely Stay in Marigot Bay
Villa Papillion is located in Marigot Bay, which is convenient if you want to explore the whole island of St. Lucia. The property is clean, the rooms are clean, and the pictures are accurate. Stephen, the property owner, and Kim, the property manager, was in touch before and during our stay. Kim was especially helpful with recommendations. If you don't have a car, Kim can arrange a driver for you, as well as activities to do on the island.

Peaceful hideaway
We had a lovely 4 day stay, Kim was exceptionally helpful and the house is in a beautiful spot. It feels like you’re hidden from the world! The plunge pool is perfect and overlooks the bay. Would highly recommend organising a massage in the villa, definitely the best we had on our trip. The house is set up well for cooking, which is good as the local restaurants are charming but a mixed bag! Would highly recommend staying here.

Peaceful oasis on the Bay!
The condo was quiet, clean, secure and well appointed. The shared deck and pool area was a great retreat after a busy day of exploring. We liked Marigot Bay since it felt like it was in the middle of the action north towards Rodney Bay and south towards waking the pitons. We appreciated the walking distance of multiple restaurants and the reasonable driving proximity to grocery stores too . Kim was wonderful!!!! She was exceptionally helpful for helping to book restaurants or boat tours or drivers if you don't have a rental car. Communication with the owner prior to arrival was easy and prompt. We hope some of the shops/boutiques/galleries reopen soon in Marigot as that would even enhance the location further. Thanks for a wonderful stay and St. Lucia experience.

Hibiscus Apartment
Definitely want to come back to beautiful Marigot Bay. This property is so lush and private. Every morning we made coffee and sat outside to watch the birds and enjoy the nice view of the flowers/greenery surrounding us. Our honeymoon was so wonderful thanks to the house manager, Kim, who set everything up for us and had chilled champagne & glasses waiting for us! We had very nice drivers (Lucious & Simeon) who took us to Rodney Bay, where we had lunch at Spinnakers (recommend by Kim and so good!) and saw Pigeon Island. Another day our driver took us to Soufriere where we toured the sulfur springs, did the mud bath, and went to the waterfall. We also went by boat one day to Sugar Beach. It was so convenient to just walk to the marina and our boat guy Alex picked us up. We also went on a fishing trip with Joe and went snorkeling and swimming at the beautiful Anse Chastanet. All of this was set up by Kim. She cooked us the most delicious dinner one night and made us feel like family during our entire stay. The location is perfect and we were so happy to help kids in need by staying here. It’s a short walk to restaurants/bars (we became regulars at Chateau Mygo) and the ferry is such a close walk and will take you over to the beach, which we did a few times and rented a Hobie Cat and had fresh coconuts prepared for us. We walked to a new restaurant called The Villa and it was fantastic! You’re right next to a very nice hotel so we had dinner one night there at The Hurricane Hole - great mahi mahi and a nice view of the marina! We also had a relaxing day just hanging at this property by the plunge pool and grilled for lunch after we had amazing massages by Verma. We really couldn’t have asked for a better honeymoon and want to bring all our friends and family back here to stay at Villa Papillon. Thank you so so much.

Home away from home in paradise.
Fantastic location if you want to venture out and visit both north and south side of the island and don’t want to change locations. Pretty much centrally located. This beautiful home was perfect, quiet getaway with easy access to few restaurants. Accommodations were excellent. Clean, comfortable, roomy for one couple and quiet. Easy sloping walk to town. We’ve rented a car since we wanted to explore the island on our time and not be tight up to anyones schedule. Although the roads are very tricky but yet unique at the same time, it definitely took couple of days to get used to it but we’ve seen pretty much everything that was on our bucket list. We would venture out in the morning and be back by dinner time before dark. Property manager Kim was a gemstone , very helpful ,and welcoming. Kim helped us book a private boat tour, cooked authentic St Lucian dinner for us one night which was delicious and even took us to town to get our Covid test even though we had our own car. We were even honored to meet Lisa and Larry, the owners of this beautiful property. They are very humble human being and truly help St. Lucian children with their nonprofit organization. So glad we found this listing .

Great Find
The property was new and well appointed, at a great location. An easy five minute walk to the marina where we ate/drank at various restaurants, rendezvoused with our SCUBA outfits, took a ferry to the the side of the bay to the beach and additional restaurants. We also used the patio area and the small wading pool. It is a great location to wind down from or prepare for activities. One night we drank wine and played cards. While we made due, it would be nice if there was a dedicated solution to hanging/drying wet cloths. Kim and William were very helpful and responsive.

Great place to get away and relax!
We just returned from a week at this villa and had a wonderful time. The villa is perfectly located close to town and all the restaurants. It is well appointed and very clean. There is a nice patio and gazebo along with a grill which we did use during our stay. The pool is just perfect to cool off in and take in all the views of the bay. We had hummingbirds and finches all around the property in the morning and enjoyed the beauty of the stars at night. This was our first time to this island and we loved it. This is a very hilly island and If your planning on walking anywhere, make sure you have appropriate shoes as some of the roads are steep. Lisa was easy to get in touch with and helped arrange a ride for us from the airport, which we are so glad she recommended. She has two wonderful people to help her, Kim and William. We can’t say enough about both of them, they were so kind and helpful in giving us all the information we needed to get around. We would most definitely come back to enjoy this beautiful place.

Fantastic location, clean and well equipped.
We had a fantastic stay. The apartment is centrally located and is exactly as pictured. It was private, pristine and perfect for us. We rented a car and had fun driving all over this incredibly lush island. I would recommend a 4x4 if you like off roading. Lisa, Kim and William were amazing and so helpful. The bats flying at night were wonderful, along with the humming birds during the day. We would walk down to the bay every night and enjoy all the restaurants and bars. Great place. Thank you for sharing.

Amazing getaway!!
My husband and I stayed there in February 2019. We were met at the house by Kim, who is friendly and inviting. She showed us around , provided a welcome to St. Lucia beverage. Made us feel very much at home. We had the bottom apartment and it was everything we expected. Our only problem was that we found the bed very hard, so we were a bit stiff in the morning. (But that could be just us) We were offered clean sheets and towels half way through which is lovely. We utilized the bbq on a couple of nights and sat by the pool a couple of days. The Hurricane Hole has wonderful spiced martinis and the beach is a quick ferry ride away. We rented a car and took in a few sights on our own. Soufrere has the mud bath and sulphur bath and the volcano. We did not get to the fish fry this time, we decided we would do that next time and get a cab so we did not have to drive the windy, narrow roads at night. We also went to the Castries Market and spend the day and lunch at Chef Robbies ...wonderful to eat and look out at the water (providing their is not a cruise ship docked) Overall we would highly recommend this VRBO. Lisa (the owner) was easy to get a hold of, had all our questions answered and having Kim there everyday to help us get where we were going was amazing. The people of St. Lucia are VERY friendly and helpful. thank you so much for an amazing vacation !!

Peaceful
Our stay at this villa was nothing short of amazing! It was a perfect way to de-stress from the Christmas holiday. The unit itself was clean, well equipped, and comfortable. We spent a lot of time out at the grill and patio occasionally taking a dip in the pool. It was a short walk to the marina for a quick bite to eat or a drink with several options available. I understand we could use the pool at cappella resort at the marina, but we just strolled through the grounds and had a vigorous game of ping pong. There is a little boat that takes you across the small waterway to a cute but very small beach. If you want serious beach time or a little more action , a lovely caretaker named Kim will set you up with what ever adventure you have in mind. She was very attentive but not intrusive. She checked in on us from time to time. I would recommend bringing food with you or shopping for groceries in a nearby town. The marina has a small store for things like bug spray (essential) , alcohol and snacks. The kitchen has everything you will need to prepare your own meals. All in all, it was one of the best vacations we've had. We highly recommend it.

Perfectly lovely & serene place to stay on the Island
I am so glad I stayed at Villa Papillon in Marigot Bay. The location suited me as it was quiet and the view of the lush rainforest and the bay was exactly what I needed. The Villa itself is gorgeous - inside and out. The pool was secluded, and I had breakfast many days under the gazebo. I was fortunate to see a gorgeous rainbow on my last day too. The restaurants nearby were all good, especially Masala Bay. The margarita pizza at Chateau Myggo was especially yummy and the leftover served as my dinner the following night. I thought the service at most of the restaurants was exceptional, especially at Masala Bay, The Grill (Marigot Bay Resort), and Doolittle's. I would recommend Tree Top Adventures for zip lining (although I had a car, they picked me up not too far from the Villa). And I did a boat/snorkel tour with Joy's Adventure, which I would also recommend. They picked me up right at the pier in Marigot Bay, which is about a 5 minute walk from the Villa. The owner, Lisa, was extremely responsive to all of my questions and requests. And Kim, the property manager, was a real delight. She called & checked on me the day after I arrived. We also spent the day together at Pigeon Island, which was a nice treat. I would definitely recommend Villa Papillon and hope to go back one day. Wish I was still there, especially since it's 45 degrees outside right now...

Great place!
We stayed in the apartment in April 2018. It was perfect for us! The whole building is beautifully maintained and the apartment had everything we needed. It was private, but close to anywhere we needed to go. It is a close walk (though up/down a VERY steep) hill to Capella Resort, which we enjoyed for the pool, restaurants, etc. We definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in Marigot Bay!

Trip Extraordinaire!!!
We had a wonderful relaxing week in the Hibiscus apartment at Villa Papillon! Quiet, clean and comfortable. William and Kim were both helpful and informative. We had the added bonus of meeting Lisa and Larry! Lisa provided us with some helpful hints that really helped to make our stay. For example, you could utilize the lower pool deck at Capella Hotel—which was just down the street. We lounged on their chairs, ordered food and beverages and enjoyed the comings and goings at the marina. We did not rent a car. Kim arranged for Lucias to drive us one the day. We hiked the Gros Piton (not for the faint of heart!), had lunch in Soufriere, went to a waterfall and then back to the apartment. We really wanted to go the the volcano, but were quite unmotivated after the hike. The next day we took a water taxi to snorkel and spend the day at Anse Chastenat and enjoy a private tour of Jade Mountain Resort and their beach. If not spending time at the marina, you would usually find us enjoying the plunge pool/patio area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Papillon and Marigot Bay. We are looking forward to our return trip!

Fantastic property - quiet and homey. Just up the hill from Marigot Bay where there are fantastic restaurants and evening sunset. Had the pool and deck to ourselves - enjoyed evenings of BBQ and drinks. Mornings overlooking the rainforest are a must. Clean and cosy.

Enjoyable stay in a lovely apartment
We stayed for a week in the Hibiscus apartment at the beginning of October following a week at Rodney Bay. We found the apartment very well appointed and comfortable. Both Lisa and Kim (who looked after the apartment) were very helpful. Marigot bay is a lovely place to be. We very much enjoyed the short boat trips across the bay to the beach and restaurant (Doolittle's) on the other side. I do think the description of the property is rather misleading in suggesting a 2 minute walk to the water. The attractive beach was across the bay by boat and the villa was separated from the shore by a short steep hill. While I was happy to walk up and down, my wife who is not confident on steep ground, was only prepared to negotiate this the once. I wouldn't therefore recommend the apartment to couples who are slightly infirm but nevertheless like to go for a little walk together in an evening. We did have a car to get around so this was not a major obstacle to our enjoyment. Snorkeling around the rocks near Doolittle's was good. The snorkeling equipment could be hired for about $10 U.S. a session. We visited a couple of other beaches further down the coast, Anse Cochon and Anse Chastanet. Here the water was very clear and the variety of marine life was amazing. The 4WD car we had hired was indispensable for one or two of the steep and potholed tracks we found ourselves on during the holiday.

Don't over think it... seriously, just go! Amazing Villa, fantastic amenities - steps away from the small Marigot Bay Village. Beautiful location, very peaceful
Lisa, the owner, made sure we had all the information we needed before our arrival and was easy to communicate with, regarding our delayed arrival. The apartment was very clean and comfortable! Kim, the manager, greeted us upon arrival and made sure everything was in order and that we were comfortable with everything. There was a problem with the air conditioner in the living area when we arrived; but it was taken care of first thing the next morning! The only other small request we made was taken care of immediately. It is on the lower level so the view is of a very lush, tropical green space. It was modern but still had a cozy, Caribbean feel. The kitchen was very well equipped. The ceiling fan in the living area and the air conditioners in the living area and bedroom were very much appreciated on the hotter days. The internet connection worked well enough inside the apartment; but was the strongest from the pool deck. The plunge pool and ample deck area offer amazing views and the feeling of being in the treetops.. Several reviews mentioned a steep climb up the road to the villa; but we did not find the walk to be too steep; and we are in our 60's. The steepest part was probably no more than 50 meters. The closest beach access is a very short walk to the bay and a 2 minute ferry ride to the other side. If you are going to Doolittle's for a drink or meal, the ferry is free. Small fee otherwise. The beach is small, but was quiet and the water is very warm, calm and clear. We didn't find the beach that is about a 15-20 minute walk away until the end of our stay, because we went the wrong way on our first day. The location of the apartment makes it necessary to have a car or a driver, if you are interested in getting around St Lucia. Taxis are expensive. Lisa made arrangements for us to be met at the airport by Cyrus Brown, who immediately made us feel welcome and took us to the supermarket on the way to the rental. He was not only fun, but a wealth of information regarding life in St Lucia. We also hired him to take us around to the beautiful natural sites around St Lucia and other locations during our stay. We told him we were not interested hanging around other tourists and he totally got it. We loved the people we met and the food we ate. All in all, our stay at Villa Papillion in St. Lucia was just the relaxing experience we needed before returning to the chaos of everyday working life.

Perfect apartment!
We stayed in the Hibiscus apartment at Villa Papillon and it was perfect for the two of us. The rooms stayed cool even in the humidity of August and we always felt like we were in a private oasis. The surrounding trees, plants, and vegetation provide enough coverage that you don't feel like you're on open display on this hillside villa. We had the most relaxing vacation we've ever had and are dreaming of when we can return. A quick walk to the restaurants and market down by the bay make it easy to find food and drinks. And there's no lack of hospitality from the local people. Everyone was kind and helpful when we wanted to explore the island or try some of the facilities in the area. If you're looking for a party spot, this is not it. You'll want to go north to Rodney Bay. If you're looking for peace and tranquility, this is the area for you.

The pictures and write up do not do this place justice -- the property, accommodations, views, and staff were outstanding! We were thrilled with our stay at the villa in this amazing location. April 8-15, 2017 - Amazing location
My husband and I have recently returned from our vacation in St. Lucia at Villa Papillon. We stayed in the one bedroom (Hibiscus) apartment and were simply amazed with its location and the beautiful property. Walking out our door every day we were greeted with tropical foliage and fresh lemons and limes together with exceptional weather. We were amazed by the amenities provided and the staff that was on hand were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Kudos goes to all the staff at Villa Papillon. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts goes to Kim, William, Cyrus and Murphy. A job well done and we miss you already. To Cyrus, our dear friend now and personal taxi service, a huge thank you from Greg (Captain) and Kathy (Boss). We do not hesitate in recommending this beautiful property and will be very happy to return back in the future. Lisa, your property is gorgeous and thank you for allowing us to stay and for making our "second honeymoon" so special.

Wonderful Getaway
The location of the apartment was perfect - centrally located to visit all parts of the island. Off-street parking was also a plus. The size of the apartment worked great for just the two of us and we really enjoyed the stars from the upper deck in the evenings. The nearby beach within walking distance was our favorite beach on the entire island. We had a wonderful time.

We originally had our honeymoon in St Lucia in 1995 and have now bought a holiday home. The previous owner built this vacation home in Marigot Bay. The landscape is mountainous and lush with vegetation, the bay is filled with luxurious yachts of all sizes but this is in stark contrast to the daily struggles of many local families which is why we continue to support the previous owners nonprofit organization called Irie Kids, Inc. Profits from our rentals help fund programs for underprivileged children in our community.
