Perfect!
Their home is beautiful! Cozy! Furnished wonderfully and had everything we needed! They drove us as we needed around the island, helped us unload and load at the ferry. Made us feel quite at home!

Dreams come true..
My three days on Salt Cay with Cathy were outstanding ! The cottage was impeccable. The island is so very unique. I loved the donkeys and saw the first whales of my lifetime. Think I was fortunate to have found a lovely cottage and wonderful host who went beyond to find a golf cart rental and introduce me to delightful island friends and neighbors . Enjoyed biking around the island and relaxing everywhere I went. I look forward to my next visit to Last Resort.

Just right
We love staying in this home on Salt Cay. The island is not large so you are close to everything. It is peaceful and quiet with the most beautiful beaches in the world within a 10 minute golf cart ride. You cannot go wrong staying here!

Well appointed cottage
Cathy and Ed are excellent hosts, and were thoughtful and helpful during our one week stay. If you've never been to Salt Cay, you'll need a little help figuring out its quirks, and Ed was great about providing guidance, advice , and arranging whatever we needed, including a golf cart rental for a day. The cottage has wonderful ventilation, is clean and nicely furnished. The water in the pipes is rain water from a cistern and is safe and tastes delicious. There are bikes for use, and we used them daily. Plenty of towels and the kitchen was stocked with basics. We loved the privacy and amenities. The location is in the middle of the south settlement, so the ocean is a short walk away, but the island is so small, it doesn't take long to get anywhere on a bike. The yard is enclosed by a wall and is about a quarter of an acre so feels private. There is a crows nest that we enjoyed for sunrises, sunsets, and star gazing. There are a few things a new visitor to salt cay may want to know and be prepared for. The island was devastated by two hurricanes in 2017 and is only very slowly recovering. Luckily this cottage was a survivor, but there is a lot of rubble of homes that have been abandoned and you will see wreckage everywhere except the eastern savannah. It's not easy to get a restaurant meal, fresh fish, or much variety in groceries. The few businesses that are still here have only sporadic and unpredictable hours. Also there are wild cattle and donkeys all over the island, and the multitude of roosters start crowing at 4 am--bring earplugs. But if you are an adventurous soul who loves wild places and exploring, none of this will bother you. You'll have wild beaches and remote trails all to yourself. The bird watching is superb, as is the snorkeling.

Perfect!
Our stay with Cathy and Ed was just perfect! The cottage is neat and clean and everything you need for a stay on Salt Cay. Cathy went above and beyond in helping us figure out “island life” and schedule activities. The island itself is amazing! There is so much to see! If Salt Cay is for you, you can’t do better than renting from Cathy and Ed! We hope to make it an annual trip!

Memorable time in Salt Cay!
Our host, Cathy, made our stay in Salt Cay very enjoyable. We had all the comforts of home with really great views from the top deck and nice bicycles to ride around the island. It would be the place to stay if we decide to return to Salt Cay!

Getting away from it all, and going in style
This is a beautiful home with attention to detail everywhere you look. Old style architecture, cozy furniture, and an awesome viewing deck to enjoy sun rise, sunset, the stars or just to relax. Cathy and Ed are wonderful hosts and took care of all details that made our stay so enjoyable. Having access to the bikes made exploring the entire cay a breeze. Salt Cay is a must see destination that still has the character of the old world charm. North Beach is comparable to the beauty of Grace Bay in Provo. Snorkeling near the humpbacks was on my bucket list - done! I will be back!

Great House on Salt Kay, Fabulous Views and Nice Privacy.
I stayed here the week of 2/22/16. Prior to my arrival I emailed with the owner (Cathy) extensively on activities around the island and how to prepare for my trip. She literally helped plan out a huge chunk of my vacation. Upon arrival she was out of the country celebrating her mothers birthday, but her husband (Ed) picked me up and gave me the simple town tour prior to showing me the house. The house was clean, simple, and exactly what I needed. A stocked kitchen was nice so that I could store a couple beers for the evenings and a loaf of bread for tea and toast in the evenings. The bikes provided were some of the nicest I saw on the island. The breeze that blew through the patio and 2nd story deck was perfect and helped keep things cool during relaxation time. I was here for a week and thoroughly enjoyed the location. I would definitely stay here again.

Absolute perfection!
I stayed in this immaculate home last week, and wish I was still there! It has all the comforts of home in a secluded paradise. Relax on the whale watching deck, or on the comfortable back patio. Prepare your meals in the fully equipped kitchen, sleep in comfortable beds with fresh linens, all while enjoying the warm breezes & slower pace of island life. Or, head down to the other end of the island (easy walking or biking distance) if you feel like socializing. I did both while I was here, and thoroughly enjoyed it all! The owners keep this home spotless & provide everything you need except your food & drink. This is my second stay here & I've loved it both times. Highly recommended!!! I will absolutely be back!

Perfect Home away from Home!
This is a beautiful and perfectly suited home to relax and enjoy paradise! It is comfy and cozy and I felt like I was home. It's island decor and feel made it easy to relax. Sitting on the back patio drinking coffee in the mornings and watching the whales from the tower were priceless. I will be back and this is the place I will stay for years to come! Thank you Cathy and Ed for making my vacation perfect ??

We fell in love with Salt Cay on our first trip in 2000, and bought our first Salt Raker home. We spent the next 4 years restoring it, (our vacation) and now that we are retired we spend 4 months here every winter.

Why they chose this property

We bought The Last Resort because we wanted others to enjoy this beautiful remote island as much as we do. There are not many places left where you can be totally by yourself on the beach or exploring an island. As a diver, the underwater sea life off Salt Cay is spectacular.

What makes this property unique

The Last Resort is quiet, peaceful and tranquil. The weather is perfect for vacationing almost all year round. Bike, kayak, whale watch, hike, dance at the café, take tango lessons (while watching for whales and dolphins), get up early and so Zoomba at the café, there is always something to do on Salt Cay. Or grab a book, hop into the hammock, and relax for the afternoon. The choices are endless.
