Perfect for a coastal getaway with friends or family, this Arch Cape vacation cottage offers beautiful ocean views, a quiet, relaxing location, and lots of nearby shore for exploring! This cottage on the northern Oregon Coast is the ideal respite from everyday life - nestled right between Hug Point State Park and Oswald West State Park. When you're ready to explore the shore, beach access is only three blocks away. The beaches on this part of the coast are quite scenic. Take a short drive to Hug Point to discover a seasonal waterfall, caves carved into sandstone cliffs, and tide pools accessible during low tide. While Arch Cape is a small, sleepy residential community, a bit to the north is bustling and popular Cannon Beach featuring numerous galleries, shops, and restaurants. The town of Manzanita is about nine miles south, and you'll want to take an afternoon to explore the small bookstores, galleries, and bakeries here.

Inside, you'll be surrounded by comfy sofas, rocking chairs, hardwood floors, and a wood-beamed ceiling in the living area. Everyone will be able to pick their favorite spot to read a book borrowed from the shelf, watch DVDs and Blu-Rays on the TV, or just hang out and talk - all with breathtaking views out the large picture windows. Not just for a summer vacation, you can watch dramatic winter storms right from the warmth of the living area. Any time of year, a wood stove provides both heat and ambiance to the living and dining areas, inviting you to enjoy leisurely meals and post-dinner discussions while finishing off the wine and watching the sunset over the ocean.

A full kitchen (no dishwasher) provides you with all you'll need for whipping up tasty, homemade vacation food. Outside, you'll find a deck with a bench out on the bluff for unobstructed views of vast horizons, ocean surf, and stretching shorelines - from the prominence of Cape Falcon to the east to closer by Arch Cape, Castle Rock, and Hug Point State Park. Look north to distant views of iconic Haystack Rock and rugged Tillamook Head. If you look carefully or bring binoculars, you will see 'Terrible Tilly,' the Tillamook Rock Light House isolated a mile out at sea. Other amenities include WiFi and a washer/dryer.

Love this little house
We did a writing retreat at this house! I gave it 5-stars because the owner called us to check in on the cleanliness of the house. (They had just had some work done). Loved connecting with her. We had some difficulty with the door lock when we arrived, but the vacasa folks were able to help us sort that out. Loved this house and location! Perfect for a writing retreat!

Great Location & Dog Friendly
Arch Cape is a quiet, less populated beach than Cannon Beach to the north. Beach access from Rose Haven is just about a block to the south of the home. Home has great view of ocean from the yard, deck and through windows all along the west side of the home. Home is just the right size for 2 to 4 people, plus dog. Cannon Beach shopping and restaurants are just 4 miles to the north. Next time we come to the Oregon Coast we will stay at Rose Haven.

Great location with a few hiccups.
The stay at Rose Haven was quite enjoyable however, there are some things which need to be addressed so future renters don’t encounter what we did. YES, the windows tend to get quite saturated with condensed water inside. Its because its colder outside than inside, and the window seals or windows need replacing as the cottage is older and needs that renovation to simply “hush” those who are looking for something to complain about. YES, the mattresses were replaced with VERY comfortable, nice mattresses HOWEVER, one of the double beds (in the room alone) simply needs a new frame or box spring… as the bed is horribly uncomfortable as it currently is. Second double bed is comfortable… the bed situation makes for a difficult time if there’s more than ONE adult needing their own bed. Bring PLENTY of firewood for the wood burning stove, and to get the best circulation of heat from the stove, turn on the ceiling fan… The biggest issue we had was the creepy neighbor to the immediate north (next door). There’s nothing quite as creepy as coming out of the bathroom after taking a shower to see some strange man peering into the west facing windows of the house in MID DAY. This caused panic and immediate discomfort, creating a need to have more than half of the window blinds closed so we weren't being watched by a strange man, who incidentally saw that we saw him creeping, so he stood in the tall bush at the NW edge of the properties so as not to be seen. Very Very creepy.

We like how it’s pet friendly. Very quite! Short drive to town. This is our second time there. And will stay again. However that patten leather couch has seen it’s better days. Hard on this old back.

This place has a wonderful view of the ocean through the large windows facing the ocean. perfect for a get away to just relax and look at the waves. Only had basic cable channels but the DVD player kept us busy a lot of the time.

Great little cottage on the ocean
Very cute cottage right on the ocean. Enjoyed watching the ocean, house set up great for my husband and I. The only suggestion would be the bed closes to bathroom needs a new mattress - we kept rolling into the middle due to sagging in middle.

Our November getaway
Fantastic view! The only downsides were that while the bed in the primary was comfy, the double bed in the second bedroom was horrible. Also, the cell service was spotty at best and there were no instructions on operating the TV but that was not a problem for us. The beaches were fantastic! We had them to ourselves, and our dogs loved it. Overall, the place was very comfortable very conveniently located with a view that is unmatched we would definitely stay here again.

Sublime
We loved Rose Haven. Climbing roses, sitting on bench soaking in this marvelous place. We felt a big warm feeling here. All other reviews comment on beds along with cleanliness… it felt lived in with wonderful memories. We are coming back next year! If you want to do laundry bring soap.

Little Blue
This little blue house was a decent little place for the cost. The outside could use a little sprucing up as well as some updates in the inside. It would make home more comfortable and inviting. House was pretty clean and plenty of towels for all and some beach toys to borrow! I’d asuggest the storm door into the home have bounce back springs removed. Door is heavy and our 7 year old got nailed prettt hard on his foot and got a pretty deep wound from it. I like listing pros and cons of a place to help determine if I’d stay again. Pros: Good price Great views Clean Cons: Outdated , could be more comfy No direct beach access

Broken beds and single pane foggy windows...
I read multiple reviews on the terrible beds and naively thought, "surely with this many complaints they've fixed them" - wrong. One bed has a broken box spring (yes, I looked under the bed after sleeping like a taco the first night) and the second bed is not broken but still awful. We had friends who lived nearby bring us air mattresses and we slept in the living room. Now, that all sucks, but during the day the place will be fine, right? Wrong. We saw the big beautiful windows in the picture and knew we were going during the winter, so figured the chances were high that we'd rather watch the ocean from inside. Well, that would have been fine except that the windows are so old and single pane that they completely fog up on the inside. Lucky for us, the heater in the bedroom is broken (yep, same bedroom with the broken bed) so vacasa put a space heater in there which we moved you the living room and aimed at one window to defog it so that we could see glimpses of the ocean. Vacasa, you're a multi-million dollar company - DO BETTER!! If you need me to send you a link on where to find an intact box spring, you let me know. And don't advertise an ocean view if it doesn't exist when it's cold or raining - this is the OREGON COAST!! Buyer beware, this place has so much potential, but unless you don't care if you sleep or see the water, stay away until vacasa steps up and stand behind this rental.

Showers and Beds Matter!
Cute place, but at the price we paid we expected more. We were celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary and the Cannon Beach area is our favorite. We were looking forward to a romantic, private getaway. The pictures make it look like there is beach access, but there is not. There is a beautiful view of the beach, but it cannot be accessed from the property as there is a steep cliff at the edge of the yard without steps or a pathway. This is an older, smaller place. It is basically a bungalow, sitting on a narrow driveway with a tiny yard. The place is clean and well-furnished, and the kitchen is well-stocked with dishes, glasses, cups, etc. It has electric wall heat that had to be kept on continuously to keep the temperature tolerable. It has a wood stove, but no wood, kindling or paper are provided. It would have been nice to have at least one night's worth of wood so that we could settle in after a long drive. The beds are tiny, there is no way two adults can share one comfortably. I'm 6' tall and my feet hung over the edge. We had to sleep separately which really sort of defeats the purpose of an anniversary getaway. The worst problem was the shower. In addition to the shower space itself being extremely small (about the size of an older closet), the shower accessory itself was a very cheap plastic set and the water came out at a trickle. There was not enough pressure or volume to wet the hair or to rinse off soap. We considered using the kitchen sink to wash our hair--and trying to use it left us cold and miserable. I removed the shower hose and found the filter screen and attachment to be nearly fused shut with rust and mineral deposits. Rather than subject myself and my wife to another awful shower, I decided to purchase a proper shower head and installed it myself. What an incredible difference 15 minutes of work and $15 can make....and shame on the property owner for allowing this problem to go on for so long (looking through past reviews this has been an ongoing complaint). I hope that our small investment in time and effort will help the next tenants have a better experience than we did--YOU ARE WELCOME, VACASA. The two things that every traveler deserves are a comfortable bed and a decent shower....and this place offered neither. We will be doing a better job of researching the next place we stay, especially when we're paying these kinds of fees.

Great view but some shortcomings too
This house has a great view of the ocean and beach. We thought the walk to the beach access might be a pain, but it worked out fine for walking on the beach a couple times a day. Our biggest issues were cleanliness and maintenance items. Both of these had been written up by previous reviewers, but had not been addressed appropriately. The kitchen backsplashes were dirty, and a lot of the dishes were greasy. Dried food on the tablecloth and a thick layer of dust under the couch looked like it hadn't been touched in many months. Water was leaking between the bottom of the toilet and the floor. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but there were some issues. And new mattresses would be a welcome change. With a few days of work and a few thousand dollars the owners and management could turn this into a five-star rental.

Aging cottage
I have stayed here a number of times and this cottage while located in wonderful location is aging poorly. The paint is peeling on the deck & signs of wear get worse every year. The entrance door on bottom where joins frame is breaking down & unstable. The new mattress and plastic deck shares were much needed after years of poor beds. Great location and for all the added fees this gem needs some love and attention!!!!!

Perfect Home Away from Home!
This home was perfect for our stay in Arch Cape! The view was stunning and just a short walk to a beautiful beach. The home was clean and set up well with plenty of amenities for our stay. The local manager Leslie was very helpful in making sure we had everything we needed. We already look forward to staying here again.
