There was still a towel in that bathtub, it was there when we arranged. We did have an issue with the bigger size of black ants, I got a couple bites. That was in the bathroom and bedroom. Did report that along with the plumbing. Overall we still had a great time.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, we had a great time and the cottage was great. We appreciated all amenities provided, including the laundry detergent. The rain shower was the favorite amenity. And we loved the back view and the hot tub under the stars. The only drawback was the lack of dresser space in the master bedroom - living out of our suitcases a little more than we prefer. Additionally, I swept most of the outdoor spider webs from the front of the cabin (except of the two currently occupied.) One last maintenance note - the bottom shelf of the freezer was not attached.

You are in the middle of "Nowhere" and at the same time, you are a short drive away from downtown Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The perfect amount of space for a family of five. I have already recommended Elk Springs Resort to several friends. One of them has already booked their trip for June. Another one is planning a trip for July. This is my second stay and I plan to return soon.

We have stayed in Endless View, Copper Creek, Big Sky Lodge, The Game Changer, A Desire Fullfilled and we have our next trip planned to stay in Knotty & Nice. Elk Springs is amazing, beautiful cabins, perfect locations but most of all excellent customer service. My family and I won’t ever stay anywhere else. We have had no big issues - small things and when I tell you they respond quickly and fix every little detail on point I mean it! Absolutely the BEST in Tennessee!!

Fairly decent place to stay

Reviewer Comments: So I know in our rental agreement it states that check in time could vary, however the morning of our arrival I received a text message asking for our time of arrival, it was going to be right around 3 (check in time). Upon arrival we received another text that our place was not ready yet. We had already booked dinner plans and after an 8 hour drive with 4 kids we needed to clean up and change before dinner, however because of lack of cleaning we couldn't get into our rental even though we said we would be there by 3. We ended up changing in the parking lot and went to dinner. The rental was finally ready by the time we got back that night. What was the point of giving our time of arrival if the rental wouldn't be ready until they were ready. Once we got back that night, we found a used dirty dish rag and dishes on the kitchen counter. Other than that, it was fairly clean. I'd say the place never has been dusted. The beds were covered in dust, windows clearly never cleaned, it was kind of gross in my opinion. The bed quilt was torn in many places as well. We also did wash our towels and found that the lint trap thingy had probably not been cleaned out in forever! The rental itself looked as pictured and the kids loved the place. I don't think I would spend that kind of money on it again though.

Of the 4TVs, 2 of them didn't work. The toilet in the main bath leaked water on the floor. The ice maker didn’t dispense ice. One of the lights over the counter was out and one in the second bath was out. There was no soap to run the dishwasher the morning we left. We texted several times with the office to get the hot tub resolved. After the second maintenance man came out he got it working. We were told it was not filled correctly. He also had an attitude about him. We tried the tv’s on Saturday. We called the office and were told we would receive a video. Neither my husband or myself received the video. We called Sunday about the tv’s and leaking toilet. A very nice maintenance man came out and fixed both very quickly. All these issues could have been prevented if the cabin was throughly checked over before we arrived. We have stayed at several of your cabins and this was by far the worst .

There is limited places to set when your in the room with the pool table. Only seating for 2 people. Upstairs had a couch and the table and benches. Again not really enough seating for all 4 at the same time. The main bedroom is super spacious but had no place to put your clothes other than your suitcase. So if you plan to unpack you will need to bring hangers. Overall we really enjoyed the cabin and the location.

A Desire Unfulfilled

Reviewer Comments: As my family and I approached the cabin, we noticed the front of the cabin is dusty and dirty and unkept. We were hoping that this would not be a precursor for the inside, however, it was. Upon entering the cabin, we couldn't help but notice the musty smell probably coming from the dingy carpet on the stairs and rug. There was dust and dirt in almost every corner even in the bathrooms. We had a chance to visit several other cabins since we were here for a family reunion. Our place was definitely SUBPAR in comparison. A Desire Fulfilled needs a top to bottom deep cleansing and update. This rental should be removed from the listing until the cleanliness issue is addressed and updates are performed. We originally reserved another cabin, however due to a death in the family, we had downsized. We would have kept our reservation if we knew that we were going to be downgraded.
