We stayed at th Whaler many times and enjoy it We try to pick the unit based on location rather than other considerations. We chose 1054 based upon location, knowing that it had not been renovated. What we did not expect was the mish / mash in the kitchen. A few miixed dishes, knives that wouldn't cut butter, odds and ends of cookware. What a mess Whaler needs to clean outdoor furniture in front of building Otherwise a wonderful visit

Great View

The view from this condo cannot be beat. It comes exactly as advertised. The bathroom needs remodeling. The sliding shower doors on the tub may be challenging for those with limited knee mobility. The drop translucent ceiling over the shower had dirt, insects or something else above it. It looked dirty. It also rattled when the wind blew hard outside. I would stay here again with some reservations.

Great view of Black Rock on lanai

Great one bedroom condo with lanai that has great view of the Black Rock. Perfect for meals and to watch the Black Rock blessing.

Kaanapali Dream

This property was an excellent place to stay! The unit was clean and well stocked with bath items and kitchen utensils. The staff was extremely helpful in the check in/out process and the concierge helped us schedule local activities. The Whaler is located within walking distance of some of Maui’s greatest attractions and the local catamarans pick up right at Kaanapali Beach. We would highly recommend this property!

Needs Update

it is a great location Etc....as we've stayed there many times. This unit was nice but not as updated as the rest of the Condo's. Carpets need cleaning ASAP

Great Location

Would stay here again. We were in unit 1056, which had everything we needed. They tell you check in is 3pm and they mean it. Our flight was in the morning and we could not check in until 3. Whaler Village is right next door so we killed time shopping and driving around the area. The location is in a great part of the island.

Spring break

A little dated and not well described as to how thing are or what is available. We enjoyed our stay and never used the TV. The mattresses were comfortable and the room was clean. There where 3 buggie boards, two chairs and an umbrella that made it nice on the beach. Thank you for sharing your space.

Unit in a great location with a fabulous view!

The Whaler is a wonderful resort. The front desk staff helped us with whatever we needed even though they did not have to.The pool is pretty basic but the beach is perfect and that is where we were everyday! The 2 beach chairs provided in the unit helped keep us super comfortable at the beach. I would stay in this unit again ONLy because of the excellent location- 10th floor looking right out at Blackrock. There were 4 of us so a couple needed to sleep on the sofa bed - it was terribly uncomfortable.... a foam pad from Costco could help this terrible bed. What grossed me out about this unit was the SHAG RUG throughout the unit- who does that at a beach resort!?! Not only was there carpeting throughout but it had dark spot stains in numerous spots ( at least 10 big spots in the living room alone) We were there Christmas and I had packed stockings ... usually we sit on the floor and go theough the stockings on Christmas morning but did it on the balcony this year as no one wanted to sit on the dirty floor!!! My girls also do yoga daily - due to the floor situation- that never happened this week....the idea of lying on that carpet was out of the question! Please clean this unit better AND trash the shag carpet!!! I know other units at The Whaler were updated but this one appears to not have been. The bed in the bedroom was comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and the furniture on the patio was perfect!! We loved the counter height table and lounge chairs AND the view to die for!!! Without the view this unit had, I would have given it fewer than 4 stars. If the shag wasn’t there I would have given it 5 stars! Hope this helps!

Not very well kept unit, other units of the Whaler are much better.

We have been 6 times at different units of the whaler and we where used to have units very tidy with everything waiting for us that a house needs but you use very litlle like salt, condiments, cleaning utensils, beach implements, toilet paper, etc. Even chocolates welcoming us. In this unit it was clean but furniture old and run down, the mattres and pillows very used, kitchen with no condiments only salt,We had to buy to clean the bathroom and toilet paper. We had a great time in the Whaler and of course we will return but our standar of the other units of the Whaler is much higher.

Not really

Customer Service for the room was not friendly. I appreciated the fact the room has a Washer/Dryer. The kitchen was fully equipped except for a rice cooker. The room has extra mattress to house people yet it does not have enough covers. There was a smell in the room. I would not stay there but rather stay at the hotel itself where customer service and room service is provided. I do not want to deal with rude people. Thank you.

Fantastic View!

This is a very nice condo with an amazing view of the ocean and Black Rock. The kitchen is well equipped and clean. You had another great view of Black Rock from the bedroom in a very comfortable bed. Maui Beachfront Rentals is a very nice company to rent from. They are very conscientious and even called when they heard from housekeeping that a piece of furniture wasn't left in the correct spot from the last renter and offered to send someone to move it to it's correct spot. The lanai had a nice tall table and chairs to enable you to see over the railing and watch for whales. It was also nice to see the catamarans coming and going. There were beach chairs in the closet which was wonderful. There was also a lot of comfortable living room furniture. We would definitely recommend this condo.

Perfect location in paradise

Thank you for a wonderful stay! Room 1056 is in a perfect location with amazing views and close to whalers village and black rock! The space was perfect, with some beach supplies (although the boogie board was broken so we didn't use it). We did leave some sand toys for future guests. The kids loved the pool/hot tub and feeding the fish in the AM. The staff was great and other the a few small things the stay was perfect. The bed is super uncomfortable but the corner of the couch with out the sofa bed was great and the portable beds were comfortable. I just wanted to stay with my husband in the bed but couldn't do it. The front door key circle was broken where u swipe your card and the bathrooms door and oven fan had issues. These are really small inconvienances and the location and ease more then made up for it. We would definitely recommend it and stay in 1056 again when we visit. We hope it's available next year!!!!

Great Location

This was our second time staying at The Whaler and the first time in unit #1056. We were not disappointed. We chose Whaler for the location, close to shopping, restaurants, great beach and walking access to nearby hotels, but also for the friendly staff. The unit was well equipped with kitchen necessities, beach chairs and cleaning supplies and thank goodness for the washer/dryer. But by far the best part is the view from the master bedroom! Waking up to the view of Black Rock and the ocean... amazing!

Perfect location

This was our first family trip to Maui and staying at the Whaler1056 ensured the perfect week. The central location of 1056 offers beautiful views of Ka'anapali beach and Black Rock and is in close proximity of shops and restaurants. My daughters used the provided boogie boards, diving masks, and beach chairs daily. Both girls learned to surf by taking lessons minutes out the front door. Based on our experience, we are making Ka'anapali an annual trip and , if possible, staying at 1056.

Perfect location

Having stayed on Ka'anapali before, I knew what to expect. This was my first time at The Whaler and all I can say about 1056 is WOW. The pictures don't do it justice. You can lay in bed and have that fantastic view. The location to everything was perfect. Walk right down stairs to load on the catamarans was perfect. Whalers Village is right there and I found the short cut to the ABC store too. Everything you would need. We took advantage of the chairs and boogie board and I grilled two nights as well. We loved the washer and dryer in the condo. I could live there... Bet your hat the next trip I will look to book this exact condo.
