About this property

Walk Everywhere in Tahoe City! Hot Tub!

Just a hop, skip, and a jump from Tahoe City’s restaurants, shops and Commons Beach of Lake Tahoe, is our 4bd, 2ba mountain home. Built in 2006, our mountain home feels brand new, but retains that old Tahoe charm with mountain rustic style. The hot tub is BRAND NEW 2014. You are so close to Tahoe City you can walk to Rosie's for breakfast in a winter white-out storm or head to the golf course for cross country skiing, snow shoeing and sledding (perfect for kids)! In the summertime, you can walk to the weekly concerts at the beach, the farmers market, river rafting the Truckee river, playgrounds, golf, literally everything is just a stone's throw away.

The great room of our home is perfect for hanging out with the whole group. The kitchen opens to the dining and living area for the textbook place for the whole crew to hang out, whether cooking, dining, or chilling in front of the Niners or Giants game, you're all right there. The new dining room table is large enough for 8 adults with seating for 3 more at the bar.
Our 4 large bedrooms are flexible to accommodate many different groups. There is one bedroom with a king, 2 each with queen beds and the bunk room contains 2 bunks (4 twins). There is a TV and cable in a room downstairs so the kids can watch a movie and rest after a day on the mountain, while the adults enjoy a big dinner.

We just bought our dream come true mountain home this November, and can't wait to share it with you. In our first few weekends visiting our new home, we can be heard saying;
“Seriously, you could walk to Jake's in a blizzard comfortably”.
“How many steps do you think it is to Rosie’s? 150 maybe?”.
“I can’t wait to ride cruiser bikes to Commons beach and go swimming.”
“Lets go snowshoe or cross country ski through the golf course!”
“I guess I could just bring a pull cart and walk to the golf course club house”
“Wow we can ride cruisers to raft the Truckee river!”

I have been renting places in Tahoe my entire life. I was always a huge fan of places that had toys for me to play with. So I have begun to fill our garage with toys to share with my family, friends, and renters. I have 2 pairs of snow shoes, men's and women's. Go stomp through the golf course. We have 5 sleds for sliding down the mountain. We added the bottom deck and hot tub, winter deserves hot tubs! We have also started putting together a coffee table book to guide you through all the good times to be had, places to eat, secret beaches, and hidden treasures.

We have spent the last couple months getting it ready for you, come enjoy it!

Wonderful house for a dual family
This was a beautiful property, located conveniently in Tahoe City. I loved the open common layout, updated floors and carpeting, and modern kitchen. It truly felt like a vacation (vs. time traveling back to 1970s and missing modern amenities). The property worked wonderful for two families of 4. I would highly recommend staying here!

Perfect Tahoe Perch! Can't wait to go back!
One of the best Tahoe spots! We love this house- perfect for our family and friends, esp with kids. Awesome bunk room. The location is amazing- quick access to Squaw Alpine in winter and just a couple blocks to the lake for summer fun. East walk to Rosie's and everything else in town. The house was spotless, well equipped and spacious....it's a bonus that the owners were extraordinarily responsive and kind. We can't wait to go back!

Great house and Tahoe experience
This house is awesome! Great family area upstairs by the open area kitchen. Love that the kids had their own bedrooms and bathrooms downstairs with the bunk beds which didn't impact the adult fun going on upstairs. Great deck with a CLEAN BBQ grill. CLEAN hot tub. CLEAN bedrooms. Two blocks from restaurants and Safeway made my life easy during the week. I would definitely rent this house out again.

A beautiful home in a beautiful location
Our stay was a joy. The house is beautiful and comfortable and the location is premier. Being able to walk to the beach and wonderful restaurants made our stay wonderful and memorable. The description of the house and amenities were spot on. We can’t wait to return and will definitely recommend it to friends and family

Amazing, Cozy, Convenient Home!
We arrived to this great house and it had all the amenities we could imagine! It has plenty of space and things for kids to play with, a great common area with an open kitchen as well as a large table so everyone could eat together. It even had all the things we needed to cook at home. We also enjoyed walking to restaurants, a movie theater and down to the gorgeous lake. When we skied, it was a short car ride there and back and plenty of space and hooks to store ski gear. Super bonus: A dip in a nice, clean, easy to operate hot tub. While it was snowing, ahhhhhh. Owners even checked in on us a time or two. We loved our time here, loved this house and we can’t wait to go back.

One Issue After Another
We stayed in this house in mid October 2018. Unfortunately, we found this home to be lacking in so many ways. We remain shocked that those before us were so delighted that they gave it perfect reviews. In addition, we feel duped by the owners VRBO description of this home. They use the words "new" and "brand new" 11 times in boasting of this house's amenities. We saw nothing that looked new or remotely new. What we found was a house with furnishings that are cheap, dirty, worn, mismatched, damaged, stained, and in several cases, unusable. The best way to describe it is a dorm filled with dorm furniture. Our disappointment started as soon as we arrived. The entire property has dead weeds waist high with various trash and debris. The front yard had a broken and discarded lawn chair while the back had an old Christmas tree and numerous scattered beer bottles. The large deck was covered with pine needles, pine cones, beer bottle caps, etc. I spent 15 minutes sweeping it. The refrigerator and freezer had at least two dozen items left over from previous renters. We don't use or appreciate having opened, used food and condiments left by strangers. Who does? Additionally, the downstairs shower was unusable because of an earlier uncompleted repair. None of the upstairs windows have window coverings ( At night several neighbors can easily look into this house and disturb your privacy). Fortunately, the bedrooms do have window coverings but one of them in the master bedroom was slit in half and held together by diaper pins! Really classy. The hot tub was unusable for us. It had a combination lock that wouldn't open. Contacting the owner was no help. He acknowledged that he lived far away and that he had no local person or agency to help out. He suggested that we go to the local hardware store and buy bolt cutters. If you rent this house and have problems, as we did, you will be on your own unless you clean it or fix it yourself. On our last day, while still half-dressed and preparing to leave, the housekeeper, silently and without notice, entered the house. We heard her and called out to have her leave. Instead, she continued up the stairs and into the bathroom hall were she shocked and embarrassed us. It may sound funny but it wasn't. When notified of this the owner didn't even apologize. We received a refund of $300, which wasn't offered but only given after we insisted. We now regret we didn't request more. If you rent this place don't blame us

Fantastic Home in Tahoe City
Really enjoyed Robert's house in Tahoe City for a ski trip in March, 2108. We were able to easily walk to many restaurants, bars and shops. The grocery store is only two blocks away which was very convenient. It was less than a 15 minute drive to either Squaw Valley or Alpine Meadows and the hot tub in the back yard was awesome after skiing. Very comfortable home and will for sure try to stay there again soon. Jim from Michigan.

The house was very clean and the location was outstanding . It has all the amenities you need.
I was so thankful when I realized how close the house was to the beach . On the 4th of July we were able to walk to the beach and watch the fireworks . There are paddle boards , a kayak, chairs , etc for you to use which was so nice. The kitchen has everything you could ever need! The beds and bedding were super comfortable. The deck outside was beautiful and neighbors were very friendly . I will definitely return :)

Best spot in Tahoe City
Perfect spot to walk anywhere. This a beautiful home located a block from everything. More than enough room for our family and friends. Open layout for hosting dinner and enjoying the sun out on the deck. The owners provide enough linens and towels, and kitchen is well stocked. Our visiting family can't wait to come again. We will definitely be back.

Great location for a big crowd
We stayed here with 5 adults and 4 children (all between ages of 4 and 7) and there was plenty of space for everyone. We especially loved the big family room next to the open kitchen so we could cook dinner while the kids played. The bedrooms were huge, and the beds were super comfortable (almost better than our bed at home). We definitely made use of the hot tub, which was a welcome convenience after a full day of skiing at Squaw. The location of the house could not have been better. It's walking distance to the main strip of shops, as well as the supermarket. It's also a short 10-15 minute drive to Squaw/Alpine, which let us wake up at a reasonable time and still beat the crowds to the hill. The owner (Robert) was on top of all his communications and was always quick to reply to any questions we had. This was especially important when a storm came through during our last night. The plow service for the house was out there bright and early, which let us get on the road without any hassle at all. Overall, if you are looking for a centrally located house that will accommodate your friends and family, this is the place to be. We will definitely be looking to come back!

Great Tahoe City home!
My family and I just enjoyed a three-night stay at this Tahoe City home. The home was comfortable, clean, well-appointed and well-equipped.. both for kids and for grownups! Our children delighted in the vast array of toys, board games, and dress up options, while the adults took advantage of the deck, hot tub, and comfortable common areas. We enjoyed a short walk into Tahoe City for meals and trips to Commons beach- avoiding messy summer traffic (and taking advantage of the double-stroller provided in the garage!). The location is KEY, and the home itself is attractive and cozy (cozy in feel; certainly plenty of room for all to stretch out and relax!). We will certainly return here in the future, and have already recommended the home to several friends! Owners are prompt in responding and committed to making sure you have a great stay!

A great place - would definitely stay there again
We had a fantastic time staying at this house over 4th of July weekend. A 5 minute walk to downtown Tahoe City. The bedrooms are really large. The kitchen/common area was perfect for hanging out and cooking/eating. And, we even had a great fireworks view from the living room. And, with two young kids, they even had a double stroller for use and lots of family friendly toys and games. Add in the fact that the owners checked in multiple times before and during the trip to make sure that everything was going smoothly , and it was the perfect place for our family reunion.

Lovely, cozy home super close to activities!
The home was just as described. We used the hot tub and BBQ and all kitchen appliances and everything was in working order. We have a 9 month old so we loved that there was a crib, pack and play, and high chair available for our use. It saved us from packing those bulky items. We played games, watched movies, and my husband went skiing at Squaw one day. We also enjoyed the downtown Tahoe City activities which were within walking distance. It was a great weekend getaway.

Beautiful Property, great location
A group of friends and I stayed at this property to ring in 2016 and it was the perfect week! The location is fantastic!! It's a short walk to Tahoe City for a night out and roughly 20 minutes to some great skiing (we were fortunate enough to have snow!). The house itself is just as described. The living room/kitchen area is beautiful, light and open - making for a great way to cook a large group dinner and play some group games. Overall it was a great stay and the owner is extremely easy to work with. I would definitely recommend this cabin and hope to stay here again!

As a life long Californian, growing up in Danville, going to college in Chico, moving on to San Francisco, and settling into Marin County, I have been coming to Tahoe my entire life. n 2013, I made a life long dream come true and bought our mountain home to share with my wife, 3 daughters, family, friends, and our guests.

Why they chose this property

My wife an I fell in love with this property right out of the gate. Its truly a rocks throw away from everything you could want. We LOVE walking to Rosie's for breakfast, and Jake's on the Lake for some fine dining and a glass of wine. Over Christmas we discovered a sled hill. My wife myself and our three daughters decided to go on an adventure by stomping through the snow covered golf course that is a half a block away. When we came across the sled hill, cross country skiing all run by the golf clubhouse. Where we rented some sleds, grabbed a 'Double Chip Shot' from the bar and hit the sled hill. perfect for our 2 and 5 year olds first sledding experience. Score! My wife is fired up to try the cross country skiing throughout the golf course, and I can't wait to walk to the clubhouse for some golf this summer.
Our cabin has a fantastic design, its great room is a combination of the kitchen, dining and living room all under the same high ceiling. Its the perfect area for hanging with all your loved ones at the same time.

What makes this property unique

Walking, Walking, Walking! Ever have the Hula Pie from Jakes? Walk to;
Truckee River
Lake Tahoe, Commons beach especially
concerts in the summer at Commons
Jakes, Rosie's, Pete n Peters, Lakeside Pizza, Syds Bagels, Fat Cat Cafe, Tahoe City Golf, Fanny Bridge, Safeway, you got it all and much more within a 1/2 mile.

Very short drive to Squaw, Alpine, and Homewood.
