Numerous harbor festivals take place in summer. The incomparable 13 km long coastline with its wide sandy beaches and small, sheltered bays has made Plouescat a holiday paradise. The 16th-century market hall indicates that the village is the center of a rich vegetable-growing region. Artichokes and many other types of vegetables are often offered in organic quality. Every Saturday is market day. The well-known seaside resort offers a wide range of leisure activities, water sports, traditional restaurants and a casino.
