My family and I (two young-ish kids) were comfortable and tended to extremely well by Julie. She made sure we had everything we needed and even took time out of her day to let our kids meet her pets. Then after we’d left she messaged us after she found a bag of dirty clothes we’d accidentally left behind and offered to mail them to us. That’s above-and-beyond service! Would stay again in a heartbeat!
Loved being outside on the deck. Unfortunately, my home in AZ sold before I expected and I was only able to stay less than half the time I Paid for. I also broke my foot which made the outset steps extremely challenging (28 of them)This was an unexpected circumstance and VRBO did not give me any return….. so BEWARE that they Will Not work with you.
We have stayed here a few times. Perfect location. Julie is very helpful. She kindly left muffins with coffee with cream. Nice! The steps are well lit upon entrance, but tricky. May be challenging for some guests. I would definitely stay again.
We loved staying here. This is a great location close to much of what Portland has to offer. The neighborhood was wonderful with so many awesome mid century homes. Julie’s place was super comfy and peaceful. I lived having my coffee on the deck in the morning. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
This unit was attractive, comfortable and very thoughtfully equipped. It felt like home. Julie, our hostess, did a great job showing us the various features. There are a lot of steps going down the hillside to the unit, but my husband and I (in our 80’s) managed quite well, as they’re safe and well lighted.
Cozy and roomy, tucked in big trees of the west hills! Julie and Ivan were magical hosts, they were very accommodating with last minute changes. Had all the at home amenities. Great energy and very comfortable. We felt very welcome and made new friends for life. This is the place for dog lovers! Thanks Julie 🙏
Julie was an amazing host. Her home was so welcoming and so peaceful. It was in such a safe and quiet area. Her home was inviting and so clean, I felt like I was staying with family. Julie was accommodating and was always a text away if we needed anything! I will absolutely stay here again next time I visit Portland
We very much enjoyed our stay—the place is a very well maintained and comfortable. It’s also quiet and private—even though it’s the lower part of a house, it felt separate. We had two small dogs with us and the little patio deck and backyard was ideal. Lastly, its location worked well with fairly easy access to freeways. We would definitely go back!
Everything was perfect except coming in late left us confused. The place is great and the stay was magnificent. We sat on the porch every morning with coffee.
Julie is a fantastic host with a great property. We felt like it was our house without anyone watching us. She was always there if we did need her or if we had a question about anything. We will stay there again if we have the chance. We now consider Julie our friend.

Very responsive host
Julie was very responsive to every need. She greeted us upon our arrival and gave us the rundown. She was wonderful. The listing didn't mention the precarious nature of the walkway to the lower level where the entrance was to the suite. Luckily there were no mishaps. My husband mentioned that the place needed a deep cleaning.
I had a wonderful stay at Julie’s apartment home. The view is lovely and apartment is comfortable. I had everything that I needed for my entire stay. Julie made sure to check in on me to see if everything is going well. She even drove with me to OHSU to make sure I knew the way.
This apartment has easy access to OHSU as long as you have a car.
Everything was wonderful! I know someone had mentioned Julie’s dog before but I barely saw him. I wish I actually saw him more! He’s friendly and oh so cute! I would highly recommend this apartment, especially if you were not looking to stay within the busy city. This place is like a little serene escape :)
We had a pleasant stay and everything was clean and comfortable. The owner took good care of us. The pathway to the front door was well lit at night and the patio was delightful to use.
We moved to the area and were looking for a home to purchase. This property worked wonderful as a base while we worked remote and hunted for a home. Julie could not have been more accommodating in providing us with details of the Portland area.
The kitchen size was perfect, the furniture and bedding was comfortable and the privacy of the deck was nice, though we didn't get to use it much due to the time of year. Julie was very accommodating with our dog and her dog was silent and a nice animal if you encountered him.
I recommend this property to anyone.
We used this as a place to sit and relax and have dinner and escape the chaos during our multi day move out from our house. It was nice to have furniture, a tv and equipped kitchen. Since we didn’t actually sleep there I can’t speak to everything, but it seemed very nice.
This worked so well for me. Close to everything in Beaverton area. Julie is a great host and the place has everything one would need. The place is roomy and comfortable. A couple of things I would mention is that the renter does not control the temp in the room - that said, Julie is very very responsive to this. Also, for me I am sensitive to sounds and the refrigerator in room is near the bed and the motor is running much of the time - it''s a low hum but for me it was noticeable. The arrival would have been easier if there was a key pad to have less constraint of specific time as to when to arrive.
Very quiet, very nice, large studio in a private neighborhood. Slightly difficult around the garage and down the stairs access. Street parking only. Occasionally, owners large dog would curiously peer into our room at our smaller dog. Did not care for this. Overall worked well for us.
Large, comfortable studio apartment with kitchen, W/D. Somewhat difficult access, especially in the dark or rain. Bring a flashlight or phone. Kitchen could use a few more utensils if you are cooking in; otherwise warm, safe and comfortable - and pet-friendly, which we appreciated.

About the host
Hosted by Julie Lewis
I live in the main house with my cat, a very obedient siberian husky dog and an African Gray parrot. I occasionally have visitors but we are never loud or intrusive. I make my living in the footwear and apparel business and I do shows periodically with my handmade purses and accessories made with 35mm movie films. I grew up in Palo Alto, CA., and I went to undergraduate school in San Diego (UCSD) and graduate school at Oregon State University in Corvallis. I have two grown children. My son is a professional musician and my daughter is an electrician and a videographer.
Why they chose this property
This property is close to downtown (a 10 minute drive) and many other attractions of the area. It has a large deck with a beautiful territorial view.
What makes this property unique
Territorial view, quiet beautiful neighborhood, free safe street parking, close to many activities. You will have a private entry and we may never even see each other. My dog may pay a visit, but he will not have access to your living space unless you want him to come in to pay a visit. He will most likely look in the sliding glass door window but he will never jump up on it.
